The Weekend

  1. Rain filled the bird bath!
  2. The crab apple trees are about to bloom!
  3. I worked my little tush off in the studio packaging sales and listing some new items, like this beautiful vintage perfume bottle necklace.
  4. I came SO close to getting Peaches to the vet today.  He was here this morning but the vet said they couldn't take him until 4:15 this afternoon.  Peaches was gone by then but it didn't matter anyway since they had to call and cancel my appointment later in the day. We both agreed that I should just catch him next time I see him and call them and they would keep him there until he could be seen.  (I thought that's what we had agreed on initially, but at least we are both on the same page now.)
  5. I had a gift basket order so shopped and made this up today.
  6. Jack kept me company as I worked.
  7. It's always fun when someone buys my art!  I got this one all ready for shipment today, too.
I had such a busy weekend!
We puttered in the yard, divided and transplanted
perennials, attended a business dinner,
watched a nascar race, did a mountain
of laundry and enjoyed my first bowl
of ice cream this warm weather season.  Yum.

Did you have a nice weekend?

    1. Yes, I was! I didn't even list it all...and the mister was gone the whole weekend so
I managed the boys alone! Whew!

    2. Wow - you must be tuckered! These are all such great photos but I particularly like Marmalade lapping - such a difference between him and Peaches... fingers crossed. And I love the sweet necklace - what a glorious colour. And speaking of colour, I love the shades in your artwork. That particular sketch of yours I have always enjoyed. I will have to order one and add it to my growing pile. Do you matte as well? That matte looks so pretty.

    3. I don't cut mats...but it would be a nice skill to have! I do have a large box of pre-cut mats, though, assorted sizes and colors which are fun to use.

I'm loving the necklace, too...and there are more to come as soon as I have time!

  5. WE all want to be first, Betsy...HaHa. I just loved your weekend and all the great pictures. Your art work of the Ball Jar is just so adorable. Making old fashioned meatloaf and scalloped potatoes for dinner...just in the mood. Nice getting back to our retirement routine. Hugs.

  9. I was beginning to worry about you.......
Super picture of Marmalade "caught in the act"...lol
Sweet Peaches, almost there..... he must feel comfortable at your home, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing so much of him.
The gift basket looks so good, whomever is the recipient, I'm sure it will make them smile :)

Yes, Peaches is SO close....I'm encouraged, although I was disappointed today I couldn't get it done.
It will be soon, though. He actually looked pretty good today. I'm sure he wondered why I wasn't feeding him...
poor thing. But I thought he'd be under anesthesia.

  11. I think he knows you love him, that Peachy Kitty.
I love your artwork. Maybe one day I'll have a little extra money on the side and can collect a piece or two.
I have one I ordered from Tummy Mountain called "When Friends Drop In." It's a couch bouncing party.
My weekend was lazy. This coming weekend I'm getting fingerprinted.

  12. Stunning photography , ,
That first one is quite remarkable ~ which cat? . . . could it be marmalade?
Aww . . . it's like little factory at your place and you churn out such quality things over and over.
Your flair for anything art related is quite outstanding and it shows in you beautiful drawings, you basket design and anything else you turn your pretty little hands to . . . :)

Like the crab apple as well . .

    1. Not forgetting poor Peaches of course . . . I hope you can persuade him into his carrier and nice that you have finalised a plan with the vet ~ good luck . . . .:)

    2. Quality over quantity, right? :)

Yes, that is Marmalade...that color is a dead giveaway! lol...

I need all the luck I can get with Peaches. :)

      Delete
    3. Absolutely ~ everything you do oozes quality . . . . . :)
Yes . . . I hope Peaches will be restored to be a bit like Marmalade in time . . . . poor little Peaches must have had a rough time somewhere along the line . . . and you now you have my very best support and prayers regarding getting him to the vet and getting him better. Such kindness is very rare and perhaps one day he will tumble that you were trying to help him all the way through . . . :)

      And lucky old Jack . . . and you had such a busy weekend . . . . . lol

    4. Marmy does look so much healthier than Peaches, doesn't he? It's those before and after shots that I love the most....and when I look at Peaches, I just know there's a beautiful sweet cat waiting to be nurtured. Haven't seen him this morning, though. I guess if he keeps to his routine, I won't see him until later in the week.

  17. Whew, you made me tired just reading about your weekend.
Ours involved grocery shopping for Hubby's and my evening of serving dinner to about 100 attendees for our Church's Celebrate Recovery meeting. Its a busy time but we enjoy volunteering.
Bill paying and laundry and just putzing on the computer after church.
    That about does the weekend.
