The setting sun this evening, glowing in the pink crab apple tree
while Mr. House Finch takes a ride on the wind-blown feeder.
*****
We have been under a wind advisory all day!
But I didn't need to see the forecast to know it
was windy! Here's a few ways I knew...
- I didn't walk into the grocery today, I just jumped high enough to get my feet off the ground and let the wind carry me across the parking lot! (really!!)
- I didn't have to spend an hour on my hair to get that natural wind-blown look. I just stepped out on the back porch for a few seconds!
- When I stopped to put gas in the Jeep, I opened my door a couple of inches and it blew open so hard I thought it would break off at the hinges!
- We have that creepy/scary moaning and howling sound moving over the house.
- The neighbor's stick pile that we have been bemoaning all fall and winter (we can see if from our kitchen window) is now scattered all over their yard. (lol)
- I had packages on the front porch waiting for the mail man to pick up. When I got home, they were gone, but I'm not so sure they didn't just blow away! ha.
- The clouds are racing through the sky so quickly that the cute cloud animals I see morph into something else when I blink.
- The daffodils are bowing down to the ground!
- The sparrows in the feeder look like they are on an amusement park ride! haha.
Gopher: If I was you, I'd think about skedaddlin' out of here!
Winnie the Pooh: Why?
Gopher: 'Cause it's "Winds-day."

I love a windy day!!
ReplyDeleteBut also you had a busy day!:)
The wind made it so cold! Brr!
DeleteLove Winnie the Pooh of course lol
ReplyDeleteMe, too! And the boys still love him! ha.
DeleteHere the twins too and sometimes we see the movie:)
Deleteyes, I always enjoy them...so cute!
DeleteYou are funny, but I believe every word. :)
ReplyDeleteMy rickety old bird feeder dumped its load of seeds onto the ground just as it was blown to bits.
Are you sending the wind this way?
If it's coming your way, you better hold on tight!
DeleteMy arms were actually tired from driving...pulling the wheel to keep the jeep on the road! Amazing!
I bet your squirrel will be thrilled that the seed is now on the ground!
Now you know how Dorothy and Toto felt! Ha.
ReplyDeleteCan you see me and 14 cats blowing away in a tornado? ha.
DeleteHaaa! I have such a funny picture in my head right now!
DeleteYou're not alone in that Suza, I shall be having nightmares tonight now.
Deletelol...
DeleteI'll be the the tin man . . might be heavy enough to stay on the ground . . :)
DeleteMy word you have had a blustery day . . . :)
haha....I think of you more as the lion! :)
Deletelol . . . well actually I am hunk, the straw man . . . haha
DeleteAnything but an Oompa Loompa. hahaha,....
DeleteI love your descriptions! And your birdies should consider themselves lucky... most have to pay good money for a ride like that! Looks like it's heading our way tomorrow. Better batten down the hatches.

Dress warmly tomorrow....it's the kind of wind that chills the bones! I work outside at an auction tomorrow. I hope it's gone overnight!
DeleteOhhhh... working a blustery auction would not be fun!
DeleteWe've worked some blustery ones before! Brr.
DeleteMakes it hard to accomplish anything when the winds blow this hard.
ReplyDeleteEven the cats want to stay indoors.
Mr. Finch is holding on for dear life :)
~Jo
Our cats were inside or under the back porch roof. Crazy! haha....At least the sun was shining!
DeleteHahaha! Sounds like a "blustery" day.....as Pooh also used to say!
ReplyDeleteWe had everything here.....rain....hail.....snow.....and insane winds....and sun!
Hope it is a little more civilized tomorrow!
Enjoy your evening!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Wow...you really got it! Spring days like that are so weird! At least there wasn't a tornado in there, too....tis the season, you know!
DeleteHad to laugh with you at No 5 . . . lol
ReplyDeleteWe're always bemoaning something over there. ha. The thing is, they will just pile them back up again. What an eye sore!
DeleteShame about the eyesore . . . can't they put them somewhere else . . .
DeleteYes, can't they? lol....Throw them out! Mulch them! Anything! Something! ha.
DeleteIt was very windy here too today, two ducks took refuge in our pond...maybe a little smaller than the lake. I love your comments here...I noticed my gray roots when my hair blew around Ha!
ReplyDeleteI might have a hard time brushing the tangles out of mine tonight! haha....
DeleteWe had wind and rain
ReplyDeleteBut nothing to blow me to another lane
Was it poor peeper neighbor guy?
Hopefully his tightey whities didn't fly
Yep!
DeleteToo windy to hang undies on the line,
although they would have been dry in no time!
And also stiff as a board,
blowing parallel to the ground. good lord! ha.
lol cats might have had fun
DeleteChasing down every one
Might have to caravan holding on to tails
Deleteor we might hear a few of them wail! haha.
LOL!! I had to laugh about the neighbors stick pile strewn all over the yard.
ReplyDeletelol...they keep adding to it and it's unsightly...so I had to laugh, too! It's been there since the beginning of last fall!
DeleteI love the visual word pictures...especially your wind blown hair look.
ReplyDeleteHope the wind calms down and you don't get any damage from it.
I guess we hit over 50 mph today! I believe it...it was crazy! No damage so far!
DeleteI'm so glad to see you hung on, and didn't blow way with the clouds. Jill (now 44) still remembers the Blustery Day of Winnie the Pooh as her favorite childhood book.
ReplyDeleteIt is an adorable, timeless story. Aw...Piglett. ....so sweet. :)
DeleteIt's windy here too. I went to the store and my hair about blew off my head! I opened my car door and it whipped into the cart coral. I was glad there wasn't another car next to me!
ReplyDeleteWasn't that crazy? I really thought my car door was going to snap off! I hear we're getting more of the same tomorrow!
DeleteWindy here too and it was snowing this morning. Add icy roads to that! Oh well the sun came out and the snow disappeared.
ReplyDeleteUgh! It's still windy this morning with rain and almost cold enough for snow!
DeleteHi Betsy - love the Winnie the Pooh quote .. it's Winds day ... and yes being blown towards you over here!! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful, especially the first two.
