Second Hand Stuff

I wore this sweater and pin to the auction yesterday.
Both are second hand but new to me,
which is just how I like my stuff....
Thrift store finds that look new but are priced like
they are all worn out.
Fine Italian Merino Wool and porcelain hand painted
lusterware sweetness.  Total price for both $6.

Do you thrift shop?

  1. I waltz around Goodwill every so often but I need more practice. I rarely know exactly what I'm looking for. Your sweater is very nice. (I love hand me downs from cousins when I was a kid and I still love a bag of used clothes to paw through.)
I do like that Kitty pin. It reminds me of the copper enameling we did as a craft with a woman from church when I was a little girl. We have some around somewhere, probably in Mom's stuff.

    1. I don't know what I'm looking for either....I just browse through it all, keeping an eye out for the nicer things. It's amazing what you can find there.

I'd love to see the copper enameling if you find it!

    2. Wanda is a good thrift store shopper. She finds great stuff.
I'll see if I can find one of those old pins. I think there's a little orange whale pin somewhere.

  11. I have thrift shopped for many years, mostly household goods at first but the clothes are a fraction of new, and gently worn, a bargain if ever I've seen one.
I love your sweater and pin, fits you to a perfection.

  13. I love a good "bargoon" as I call it. And you certainly got one - lovely combination. I love thrifting although most of the shopping I do now is online. Easier on the joints! But it's the thrill of the hunt I love the most. Even if I had all the money in the world... I would still include thrift stores in my shopping. Have found some amazing deals and really unique pieces over the years.

  16. Great finds. We don't really have any thrift stores around here, so I don't have much experience finding a good deal. The cat broach is so pretty!
