Good Girl

Today started out a little crazy!
The Mister left way before I had to get up, and I overslept.
I didn't even hear the coffee pot right by my head brew or
beep loudly 5 times when it was done!
I had 20 minutes to get the boys ready for the bus
without coffee...not even my half decaf cup!
In that time I also had to stop a nose bleed and unclog a toilet.
But we made it with 3 minutes to spare to watch out the window!
After the boys had gone, I found Alex's one important prescription
pill on the floor.  He had dropped it while taking his pills!
I said a quick prayer that he would have a good day
and no anger issues without it.

So I spent the morning baking cookies!
Cookies always make everything better, especially
homemade ones with real butter, vanilla bean paste
and Ghirardelli chocolate chips.

Everything felt better after a cookie (or three) and more coffee.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my cookies had
less calories than I was expecting!  And since I called
them 'lunch' my Fitbit says I was still a good girl today! ha.

Recipe here.

Nothing like a homemade cookie. Yum. But I better eat something a little more nutritious for dinner. :)

    1. Well, you know what we say...the cook has to sample all to make sure it's yummy enough! It's a sacrifice, but it must be done! Sigh!

  7. For my breakfast I had fried streaky bacon, frazzled to make it crunchy, between 4 slices of fried bread, all done in organic butter (at least that part was healthy) and an omelette made with three eggs. The fat was running down my chin as I ate. Nectar from the Gods!

Incidently, do you know a good remedy for indigestion?

    1. I totally agree...they are good anytime! I'm glad Alex did ok, too....he doesn't have as many triggers as he did in high school, so I wasn't so concerned that I drove over with that pill to give it to him. I would have done that during high school for sure!

  14. Betsy...I no longer have those panic attack mornings, but I remember them vividly. Especially Mondays when all the papers I was supposed to read and sign when they came home on Friday were now under my nose. And the uniforms weren't washed and the shoes were lost and somebody didn't like what was in their lunch. May I say those "little problems" simply become the New Norm Problems? But yes, cookies. A hot bath. A Lifetime movie or a magazine...just the right tonic!

    1. Taylor's notorious one was 2 minutes before he had to leave he would want to print an assignment off his laptop. The printer would be out of paper, the ink would be running low and I'd be trying to get his brothers ready. Oh the drama! I do NOT miss that. haha.

    1. I love the Fitbit. I have the Flex model. I highly recommend it! It's so much more than a pedometer, too....amazing, really and fun! This model is waterproof, so you can wear it 24/7. It's great.

  20. That does look good! This reminds me I have a great cookie recipe which is really easy and I haven't made it in ages. The Chef is coming home on Monday. I should make some... which means remembering to buy some ingredients tomorrow. Let's see if I can manage that.

    1. I think the Chef would be delighted to arrive home to you...not to mention the cookies! :) What kind are you talking about?

  21. Yum, yum! What is vanilla bean paste? You can tell I am not much of a baker, but I do LOVE homemade chocolate chip cookies. It's been ages and ages since I had any. Is the bracelet irritating your skin any? That's one of the reasons I haven't got one yet.

    1. It's the seeds from vanilla beans made into a paste. You use it in place of vanilla extract. Super yummy.

No, the bracelet is fine. It's comfortable, lightweight and it doesn't even bother me when I sleep. It's flexible so you don't even know it's there!
Get one! Really! haha...I can't believe how much I like it...
