Today started out a little crazy!
The Mister left way before I had to get up, and I overslept.
I didn't even hear the coffee pot right by my head brew or
beep loudly 5 times when it was done!
I had 20 minutes to get the boys ready for the bus
without coffee...not even my half decaf cup!
In that time I also had to stop a nose bleed and unclog a toilet.
But we made it with 3 minutes to spare to watch out the window!
After the boys had gone, I found Alex's one important prescription
pill on the floor. He had dropped it while taking his pills!
I said a quick prayer that he would have a good day
and no anger issues without it.

So I spent the morning baking cookies!
Cookies always make everything better, especially
homemade ones with real butter, vanilla bean paste
and Ghirardelli chocolate chips.
Everything felt better after a cookie (or three) and more coffee.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my cookies had
less calories than I was expecting! And since I called
them 'lunch' my Fitbit says I was still a good girl today! ha.
Recipe here.

Your cookies certainly look as though they will work wonders . . . . . look delicious. . . :)
ReplyDeletePeople actually give me orders and pay money for them...which always amazes me. haha.
DeleteNothing like a homemade cookie. Yum. But I better eat something a little more nutritious for dinner. :)
I can see why they order them . .
Delete. . . . and I have finally worked out what Fitbit means ~ we don't have that one here . . :)
You have them there...
Deletewww.fitbit.com/uk

They sound wonderful, and all that rushing around would burn a few extra calories, am I right ???? lol, I have to go and see what a fitbit is, lol,
ReplyDeleterock,,,, me,,,, I live,,,, under!!!!
Yes...check out the fitbit. If you're being good, you love it. If your being bad, you hate it. lol....
Deleteyes, rushing burns calories!!!
You were a very good girl....and must have needed that extra sleep. Your cookies look wonderful...I would have them for breakfast and lunch.
ReplyDeleteYou would have to tempt us with a cookie so close and a bite out of it.....hmmmm so good.
Well, you know what we say...the cook has to sample all to make sure it's yummy enough! It's a sacrifice, but it must be done! Sigh!
DeleteDon said the batch I made with the new mixer were the best I've EVER made. That's saying something. The next compliment came when I showed him the picture of your cookies and he said they looked like mine. I have arrived!!!! HAHA
Deletehaha...the best you've ever made! Wow....that really is saying something about the Cookie Lady!
DeleteThey did look scrumptious! I enjoyed making mine today...love days in the kitchen like that. :)
Oh my gosh, I could use one of those right now. I'm don't dare drink more coffee.....I'll stay awake all night. No decaf in the house!
ReplyDeleteNo, better not have the coffee. Nothing worse than laying there staring at the ceiling all night! ha.
DeleteOh, yummy! I can smell them and they smell wonderful.
ReplyDelete:0)
Do you have a scratch-n-sniff screen? I want one!
DeleteOoo! Good idea!
DeleteOh a cookie for breakfast with a cup of coffee sounds great to me...I'm going to save this recipe, they look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love dessert for breakfast. Yum. Let me know if you make them! :)
DeleteFor my breakfast I had fried streaky bacon, frazzled to make it crunchy, between 4 slices of fried bread, all done in organic butter (at least that part was healthy) and an omelette made with three eggs. The fat was running down my chin as I ate. Nectar from the Gods!
ReplyDeleteIncidently, do you know a good remedy for indigestion?
That breakfast sounds wonderful! I love everything you made!
DeleteRemedy...one of my cookies. :)
More like Super Girl!
ReplyDeleteSometimes those days turn out to be the most productive!
They look delicious! Perfectly browned...
Alex ok?
Enjoy your dinner with the big kids....
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Alex was fine...at least nobody emailed or called! Yay! So glad...that could have been disastrous.
DeleteSuper Good Girl. Good Super Girl. haha.

ReplyDeletei may have another day out tomorrow...they are calling for 6 inches of snow overnight so we will

We're supposed to get a few inches tonight! They've gone two days in a row this week....a new record! lol!
DeleteHave a cookie...or four...
Hopefully he made it threw fine
ReplyDeleteThat's a dash and dine
Without a coffee too
Did you pop out at any cats and shot, boo? lmao
Halloween is a ways away
Hmmm enjoy your cookies and have a nice day hahaha
lol...you crack me up.
DeleteAlex was fine, like a little pup.
I didn't shout at anyone
but I am glad my day is done!
Now on with the new
DeleteHopefully you were up on time today at your zoo
I was up early
Deleteand things didn't get squirrly.
A much better view
with coffee, too! haha.
Well now, speaking of new....
look at you!
I hate those kind of starts to the day. Sounds like you finished well though!
ReplyDeletehaha..yes, by 7:50 all the bad was over with already! The rest of the day was great! lol....
DeleteRemember the show Candid Camera? Some times I feel like I'm on that show! haha....
DeleteCookies work wonders :) Happy to read the rest of your day went well.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's true...they cure all! haha.
DeleteThere is no bad time for a cookie, especially home made. Those look yummy. Glad Alex did ok.
ReplyDeleteTaria
I totally agree...they are good anytime! I'm glad Alex did ok, too....he doesn't have as many triggers as he did in high school, so I wasn't so concerned that I drove over with that pill to give it to him. I would have done that during high school for sure!
DeleteBetsy...I no longer have those panic attack mornings, but I remember them vividly. Especially Mondays when all the papers I was supposed to read and sign when they came home on Friday were now under my nose. And the uniforms weren't washed and the shoes were lost and somebody didn't like what was in their lunch. May I say those "little problems" simply become the New Norm Problems? But yes, cookies. A hot bath. A Lifetime movie or a magazine...just the right tonic!
ReplyDeleteJane xxx
Taylor's notorious one was 2 minutes before he had to leave he would want to print an assignment off his laptop. The printer would be out of paper, the ink would be running low and I'd be trying to get his brothers ready. Oh the drama! I do NOT miss that. haha.
DeleteSounds like a rocky start... but a great finish!
ReplyDeleteI sprinted to the finish....cookie in hand. hahaha...
DeleteThey certainly would make my day better.
ReplyDeleteSending a few cyber cookies across the ocean to you, my friend! :)
DeleteNow, that's my kind of lunch. ;) blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteYum...I know. But I did have a sugar high and low ...hate that. I'll stick to veggies today instead. :)
DeleteMmmm! Yes, chocolate chip cookies make everything better.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly did. Smooth sailing today...going to try to avoid the cookies. :)
Delete"ha" indeed! How do you like your Fitbit? I've been thinking about getting one but would like to hear from someone using theirs.
ReplyDeleteI love the Fitbit. I have the Flex model. I highly recommend it! It's so much more than a pedometer, too....amazing, really and fun! This model is waterproof, so you can wear it 24/7. It's great.
DeleteThat does look good! This reminds me I have a great cookie recipe which is really easy and I haven't made it in ages. The Chef is coming home on Monday. I should make some... which means remembering to buy some ingredients tomorrow. Let's see if I can manage that.
ReplyDeleteI think the Chef would be delighted to arrive home to you...not to mention the cookies! :) What kind are you talking about?
DeleteYum, yum! What is vanilla bean paste? You can tell I am not much of a baker, but I do LOVE homemade chocolate chip cookies. It's been ages and ages since I had any. Is the bracelet irritating your skin any? That's one of the reasons I haven't got one yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's the seeds from vanilla beans made into a paste. You use it in place of vanilla extract. Super yummy.
DeleteNo, the bracelet is fine. It's comfortable, lightweight and it doesn't even bother me when I sleep. It's flexible so you don't even know it's there!
Get one! Really! haha...I can't believe how much I like it...
If you would blur up those photos so they would look so great I would be a little less jealous and hungry. Wow they look so good.
