Our mild temps of Christmas have given way to
icy temps with wind chills in the single digits (Fahrenheit).
Makes for some lovely early morning photography!

Just returned from a brisk walk outside in the cold air and sunshine. Summer is over rated! Ha :)

  2. If there is one wonderful thing about being up early and out to the bus stop on January mornings, it's the photo opportunities.
    Love frosty photos!

  3. Happy New Year to you and the gang there, Betsy I hope this year is easier for you and full of love and happiness. Your pics are, as always, gorgeous. We are getting beautiful views of all the snow on the So Cal mts. from our home here. Winter does have a real beauty about it.

    1. You see snow capped mountains from your house? Oh, that's not fair! Trade you a corn field! haha....

    2. we looked at houses for over a year to find a view we could afford and then spent 2 years re-habbing it. We are exhausted. I am married to a Kansas fellow. He never wants to see another corn field. I would probably be ok with one. lol Taria

    3. Kansas...well, yes, I can see his point. I've only been to California once and I couldn't stop talking about the mountains!

  4. These make me sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-iver! Very chilly here too. Love the frosty icing on these. Saw they had a huge snowstorm in southern California of all places. Hope Wanda and family are fine.

    1. I went out in my jammies and slippers very quickly to snap these....so pretty and I knew when the sun hit the frost, it would be gone! Brrr. Another cup of morning coffee tasted really good after that! ha. I've been a hermit...haven't heard about the snow in California! That must be what Taria was talking about here!

    2. Wow - you were brave in your jammies! I went out for a 40-minute walk tonight. I was dressed for it -9C instead of -20C the other night. But it was still nippy and I had very rosy cheeks when I returned!

  5. Once again, excellent photos! I can "feel" the chill in the air just from looking at them!! Not so sure I would tolerate any kind of brisk walk for a picture though. Oh, wait... maybe that's why I don't have any!! LOL... great job there, young lady!

    1. I didn't take a brisk walk...just stepped onto my back porch...jammies and slippers. haha. 30 seconds and I was back inside! We're in single digits with the wind chill...13 without the wind. Chilly! You do need to get out with your camera, though...I want to see what's going on down there! :)

    2. Oh come on Eddie, it takes great skill and patience to take a good photo, and this lady has both. Any fool can just point a camera and press the "go" button. Take me for instance . . . . . er, no don't bother, I never get a picture right!

  10. As long as you don't have to go out in the cold
For the photos to take hold
    Then they look fine
We'll all stay inside and curl up like a feline

  12. Lovely, lovely. My friend from Tucson put a picture of their home and mountains.....covered with a big blanket of snow. Such a lovely sight if you don't have to be out in it, or dig out of it. But then I don't speak from experience. HaHa

  13. We've had snow flurries every day for the last past week or more. I keep hoping it'll stop long enough to maybe melt a little bit. Frost can be very pretty!

    Happy New Year!
