Here's the last moon of 2014!
I took this at 6:30 PM EST above my house.
It's a nice, clear, cold night here....
The stars are twinkling and the moon shining!
Can't say 2014 has been one of my favorite years.
It was full of lots of heartache for me...
lots of personal stuff I have chosen not to share
on my blog. But I'm looking forward to this fresh
new year, how about you?
I hope it's full of wonderful, happy surprises
for all of us!
♥
I'm always excited for the new year... almost hopeful for a better year. You can too. So sorry this year was "full of heartaches".... if you need to reach out, you know how to find me...... just sayin'
ReplyDeleteAw, you're sweet. :) Thanks, Don.
DeleteI am glad to see this year out the door to be honest, not my favorite year at all, some good, but more sad that good, just one of those years, and I also chose to not share on my blog but Betsy I wish for you the very best 2015 possible, Happy New Year to you and your five men.
ReplyDeleteYou, too? Well, let's just shoo this one right into history and say good riddins! lol... I hope 2015 is a good one for both of us, Laurie! xo
DeleteHere's to a new year, we'll make the best of whatever it brings, and happy to plod along.
ReplyDeleteI've so enjoyed reading your blog this past year, you are an inspiration to us all, and your smile is contagious.
A Happy New Year to you and your five men Betsy, and many blessings.
Hugs
~Jo
Thank you, Jo...yes, we will plod along and make the best of whatever comes...that's the only way to do it!
DeleteFresh starts are always good but sometimes the hurts and heartaches are the fabric that make the fresh starts even better.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your posts in the new year and wishing you blessings and new joy.
Yes, I think you are right....and they turn us into something better than we would have been....but gosh, the pain can be unbearable in the moment...
DeleteHappy New Year to you and all your men!
ReplyDeleteHappy year to you, too! :)
DeletePraying 2015 will be a year of healing.
DeleteHey Betsy....
ReplyDeleteI have my camera in hand, and I am going out!Brrrrrrrrrrrr.....
We all have secrets, eh ? Always wishing for closure.....
Perhaps 2015 will be the best year ever.....
Your snowflakes are wreaking havoc with my. ipad ,....
Cheers my friend....
See 'ya next year!
Linda. :o)
My snowflakes are wrecking havoc with my Ipad, too! haha...and I can't get them off! I removed the link and they are still falling.
DeleteHope I can get rid of them before spring. lol....
I did it, Linda! No more snow! haha....I hate going into the html ...scary! lol...
DeleteI would not even venture there.....hahaha!
DeleteThe more I do it, the easier it is, but still! Geesh! The minds that came up with all of that! It's like math...which my brain does not do. Lol...
DeleteGreat!
DeleteNo more awkward jiggly keyboard!
Tried for a picture of the moon....pretty cloudy....perhaps tonight!
Have a great day....
I know...isn't that weird? My laptop was fine but my iPad was stuttering! Maybe the snowflakes made it cold. haha.
DeleteYou take the best shots of the moon. I wish you a great new year. I know 14 was not my best one either but things have to get better. Take care of yourself and that great family too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Larry....the moon does cooperate nicely when I take his picture! So bright and clear tonight...that helps a lot!
DeleteI hope we all have a good year in 2015! Thank so much. :)
Every year has it's heartbreaks, and you are so precious to always be so upbeat and encouraging to all of us. This year had it sad times for our family too but mostly good...I so thankful for that. Looking forward to what will fill our lives in 2015..This I know..l.we don't have to handle it alone. Sending love and hugs and saying goodbye to Mr. 2014 Moon.
ReplyDeleteI had some bright spots, but mostly bad! haha. And you're right...we don't have to live it alone...good thing for that fact!
Delete2014 was better than 2013 and 2012 for me
ReplyDeleteBut better is relative with the crap at my sea
Hopefully 2015 will be better for all
And lots of fun will be had at every hall
Gradually getting better there...
Deletecan't complain about that at your lair!
Maybe 2015 will be even better still,
pain free and money to your fill. haha.
lol both would be grand
DeleteHere in my land
Happy New year Betsy!
ReplyDeleteAll years has things good and others bad.

ReplyDeleteHope 2015 will [prove to be a very happy one for you and you have my sincere and best wishes . . . . . You are a real true friend . . . . :)
No tripod....just a steady hand. :). And I sat on a star beam to get close enough. Ha.
DeleteSome steady hand . . . . great result . . . . sat on a star beam eh! . . . well I always love a high flier . . . . lol . . . :)

ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa! I hope your 2015 is a happy year, too! So far so good, right? Ha.
DeleteHappy New Year Betsy! I had some heartache this year too, along with some joy. Hope 2015 is a better year for you.
ReplyDeleteAnd you, too.....wishes for much happiness!
DeleteI saw the moon two nights ago and thought of you - so bright and beautiful. I had hoped you would take a shot of it as it was not full nor a crescent which sometimes are the most popular ones taken. But I loved this one - an overflowing oval!
ReplyDeleteI often stand and muse and ponder and hope under the light of the moon. And I know you feel its pull too. And it is that hope and light that I wish you in 2015. Thank you for all that you share here - you are treasured.
Love and best wishes in the New Year... Suzie xox
Thanks, suzie. The moon is just the coolest, isn't it? I wonder what he thinks of earth. Lol. We've had lots of cloudy nights recently so I was happy to get Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve photos of him!
DeleteMay the New Year bring you and yours much happiness.
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks, Hilary! I wish the same for you and yours, too!
DeleteOh...you and me both, Betsy, on the heartbreak. Bad bad news on my husbands health the other day. Say a prayer.
ReplyDeleteLove to you and here's to a good, good 2015.
Jane x
So sorry! I sure will pray for him....and you, too. Hugs...

ReplyDeleteYes, bright and shiny...a blank canvas!
DeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy! :)
DeleteLove your photography. 2014 was the hardest year of my life. I am looking forward to a better year(with the exception of turning 40 in April :)).
ReplyDeleteHappy new year.
40? Oh, you're just a baby! Ha. Forty is a great age....wise, yet still young! :). I'm sorry you had such a hard year...I hope the troubles are gone and you have a really wonderful year ahead...and thanks so much for commenting! :)
DeleteBetsy, I hope 2015 brings you much happiness, fewer heartaches, and the continued strength to deal with whatever comes your way. Best to you and your men!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Yuji...and I hope the same for you!
DeleteNew year....new start :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is true!
DeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteWe all avoid hard things when we can, but the truth is, with our permission, they are shapers of great destinies beyond our imaginations. If I would have known two (make that 20) years ago what I do today courage to step forward would have failed me. But because God is good, and because He is always for us (not against) 2015 looks fresh and exciting, okay and sometimes terrifying,☺ but forward and up is always the best way to go. So amidst the hard things I'm going to pray and watch for His Hand at work and journal the process so that there is a tangible evidence of His faithfulness for those coming after me so that in years to come they can read those testimonies and trace His Scarlet Thread through it all and thus be encouraged to keep on.
Sorry for the epistle :) but I know you understand.
All the best Blessings to you and your family in 2015!
Yes, I completely agree...and very well said! Hugs...
DeleteBeautiful shot Betsy, and Happy New Year to you and your boys. I hope this year is full of blessings for all of you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terri!
DeleteI am sorry that this hasn't been the greatest year, but Im glad you are optimistic for 2015. Happy new year xo
ReplyDeleteYes, and I'm so glad to see you've decided to experience 2015 and not hop right over it! haha....
DeletePlease tell me you used a tripod and your new camera, that moon is awesome. Betsy, I am glad to see 2014 behind me too. I was hoping my health issues would have passed, but I find myself continuing to fight Lyme Disease with even more antibiotics....here's hoping for a turn around soon. 2014 brought much joy too, with the birth of a new granddaughter, the news that we will be grandparents again this July and the support of friends and family on my road to recovery. maybe each year is like that...but I am filled with hope and joy for the year ahead...a new start, with God by my side. You are often in my prayers. Happy New Year...let's stay inspired!
