Usually home, and it's a pain to post comments from my phone. And when I read your posts when I'm at the library on the day after, I only have a worthwhile comment half the time. Heh.
I have missed Slate too! Boy does he look soft and velvety in the light. What a prize that kitty turned out to be. I know Lynne will love to see her pal. Marmy was stealing the spotlight for a while - poor kitties - they have to vie for position! Ha! By the way, I brag about your blog to a few people and they all love your new kitchen and your Christmas décor!
Slate and Marmy have had a little rivalry going on with some hissing and scowls, competing for my attention. So silly. ha. Yes, Slate is velvety...and that color just adds to the lushness! Well, how fun that they looked at my blog. I still can't believe that kitchen is mine, honestly. :)
I think Henry (next doors cat) has decided to move in here. Dinky came home rather late last night only to find Henry fast asleep in HER bed! After a lot of hissing and growling like your two, Henry , being a gentleman, gave up the bed to Dinky and slept in the bathroom!
Suffering from insomnia so I am looking at Slate's lovely softness and expression, and listening to some relaxing music. Hope that puts me under soon. :-)
O-H-H-H-H Betsy! Almost life size! I swear I think he knew it was a special photo for me. What a fabulous cat! Look at that confident facial expression! Thank you so much for thinking of me. Sometimes I get kind of down during the holidays missing my family who have been gone a long time. Lynne in NC
Great shot!
ReplyDeleteAnd I get to be first, at long last. Ha.
DeleteWell, where have you been? :)

DeleteSounds like something David Lynch would say. ha.
DeleteYou mean the "other" one, the director?
DeleteLeft the initial out just to bug you.
DeleteYeah, you do have your ways of driving me crazy.
DeleteHa. I should use some bad grammar right about now to prove your point.
DeleteYou'd probably come up with something that would knock my socks off... and send them sailing from here to your neighbor's gazebo!
Deletelol...
DeleteHi Betsy - great photo of Slate! I'm sure Lynne will be very happy .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteShe'll stop by eventually and see it! :)

DeleteWell, Henry knows a good home when he sees one! And what a kind soul to give up the furry bed for the bathroom floor. ha.
DeleteI think every cat should get their turn in the spotlight :-)
ReplyDeleteIt seems the ones at my feet get their photos taken. The shy and leary ones don't! Poor things. ha.
DeleteSuch a handsome boy.
ReplyDeleteIsn't he? His fur is awesome.
DeleteWhat a poser! . . . . . :)
ReplyDeleteNice shot !
He's such a sweet cat. :) I think he appreciates being taken in. What a skinny stray he was, too. He weighs about 4 times as much now. ha.
DeleteDoes he really? Wow.
DeleteYes! Of course, he was just bones when he came, but he is a big cat now with a full, round belly. ha.
DeleteSuffering from insomnia so I am looking at Slate's lovely softness and expression, and listening to some relaxing music. Hope that puts me under soon. :-)
DeleteOh dear...hopefully by now you're having sweet dreams...

ReplyDeleteSlate must have known you needed a smile. :)
DeleteHe's certainly a handsome cat, all regal looking and definitely upper-class. Let's face it, if he was human he wouldn't even speak to the likes of us.
ReplyDeleteI think you should rename your blog to "My Five Men and Fourteen Cats".
DeleteThat would scare everyone away! ha. And Nugget would pack his bags and leave.
DeleteSorry. "At Christmas my true love sent to me, My Five Men, Fourteen Cats, and Nutty Nugget Rabbit". Better?
Deleteaaaand two pretty parakeeee...eeets! ♪♪♪
DeleteHi Betsy......very nice looking guy.....happy he found you....and vice versa!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your evening
Cheers!
Linda :o)
I'm happy he found us, too! What's one more? lol...
DeleteEnjoying your break? How's that decorating coming along?
Ha! Took our weekly drive today....
DeletePerhaps tomorrow!
What a handsome cat, I would miss him too.
ReplyDeleteI have to show Lynne a picture now and then. Slate stole her heart when he started showing up on my blog. :)
Deletehaha he sure knows how to pose
ReplyDeleteAs he sure sat and froze
Such a handsome cat indeed
Showing off at your feed
Hard to tell him 'no'
Deletewhen he does such a pose.
And sweetly meows for a treat
and something good to eat!
That looks like the perfect cat to snuggle with.
ReplyDeleteHe is a good lap cat...but almost gets too warm! ha.
DeleteHe's a handsome boy and he knows it!
ReplyDeleteHe's sweet, too, which makes him just about irresistible!
DeleteAlways I love Slate he is funny and lovely and remember the day he arrived:)
ReplyDeleteAw...me, too. Such a poor, cold, starving kitty. So much better now!
DeleteYes was a poor baby!
DeleteLooks like there is approval of the new counters! What a good looking cat. Taria
ReplyDeleteSuch a close twin to our late Kitty-Dear, whose eyes were a depthless green all over, and even the golden part was a beautiful coke-bottle green..
