A few more pieces of the plywood came off the floor.
The base cabinets came out, along with the dishwasher and sink.
No more water! Ack!
Plans were finalized to reconfigure the island and
some new electrical lines were added into the wall.
Look in the corner...the first new cabinet!
Doing dishes in the bathtub tonight. ha.
♥
LOL...dishes in the bathtub!!!
ReplyDeletehaha...well, maybe the bathroom sink. Although, we're using as much paper and plastic as possible as of today. He said I'd have my new sink and water back on as of Friday, so I can deal with that!
DeleteLife is a never ending adventure, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI once washed clothes in my bathtub and then, after wringing out all the water I could, ran with them, dripping, to the door so I could hang them outside. Good thing we lived in New Mexico back them. They dried quick.
:0)
If I had any more adventure in my life, I'd faint. lol....
DeleteI don't think I've ever washed clothes in the bathtub....haha....I can only imagine!
Well, you could take the dirty clothes down to the river and bash them on the rocks like the old Cherokee Indian women did in days gone by.
DeleteJust suggesting. . . . .:)
No, my washer and dryer are working just fine, thank you. haha.
DeleteYes sometimes I had to wash dishes in the little visits bath:)
ReplyDeleteWell the best one day more sigh!!
Aw dear!
When I was just married I lived in a little apartament and we dont have machine to wash clothes:)
But know with the kids oh my!
yes, I think kids make the inconveniences a little harder! But it's only for a few days!
DeleteYes Is by some days and after you will have a beautiful kitchen!
Deleteyes....I just keep thinking of that!
DeleteOh the joys of a kitchen remodel! We did one 10-11 years ago at our other house and I did the dishes in the laundry sink for about a month or more. Felt like forever! But it was totally worth all the 'pain'! We had plans drawn up to redo this one this Summer, but now we've decided to move instead. :) Yay!!
ReplyDeleteA month or more? Oh my....thankfully this will only be three days! Yes, moving is a bigger adventure! haha.
DeleteNow just need an old "washboard" to scrub those jeans, hair up in curlers, and an old, flowery apron! Ahhhh... so matronly. Hahahahahaha.... You know I really love you though, right?
ReplyDeleteI should dress like that and take a selfie just for you! haha.....oh, gosh, you are a hoot!
DeleteOh goodness! My own personal selfie? Don't know if I could stand it! BUT, I can certainly think of some much better ones than one like THAT! LOL xo
DeleteIf I find an old flowery apron at the auctions, I'm buying it! lol.... I think I have the curlers somewhere....
DeleteHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHA.... I CAN'T WAIT!!!
DeleteLots of progress though, so that is good!!! xx
ReplyDeleteIt is good! I'm still happy and all my nerves are intacts. lol...
DeleteI was going to ask you if you were changing the footprint of the kitchen....
ReplyDeleteSo....you are repositioning the island? Making it larger?
Looking good Betsy.....hang in there!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
It will be a little longer and not have that crazy angle in it anymore. :) The rest of the layout is staying the same.
DeleteSO exciting! Other than washing dishes in the tub, of course.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is the down side of today. hahaha.
DeleteWhen you wash the pots and pans in the bathtub, is it before you put the boys in, or afterwards? Or do you do them all together? Ha!
ReplyDeletewell, even though I do love to multitask, I'm thinking I wouldn't want my coffee cup bathing with them. haha....
Deletehaha dishes in the bathtub
ReplyDeleteSure a rub a dub dub
Bet it is grand to see new
And you can't wait until the ugly is out of your view
The dust is everywhere
Deleteeven in my hair.
ha.
lol eww to that
DeleteMake it scat
Washing it away
DeleteWon't let it stay.
haha.
Hang in there, Betsy Girl!
ReplyDeleteIt's all good....haven't even reached for the wine yet. lol....
DeleteBet it feels like it's taking forever! -- silver fox
ReplyDeleteOnce all the nitty gritty stuff is done, I think the progress will really speed up. That darn floor issue really slowed everything down!
DeleteYou're doing good! Nice to see something go in, and not just tearing things out. :)
ReplyDeleteWe redid a kitchen when Laura was 9 months. Bob did all the work, so it took a while. She was walking and into everything, which was stored in boxes in the dining room. And yes - I did lots of dishes in the bathtub!
Oh my....I can't imagine...and with a walking 9 month old? lol....
Deleteha. so are you taking a bath while doing the dishes?
ReplyDeletetwo birds with one stone and all...err....i guess that could be a mess though
depending on what you had for dinner..
lol....you all are cracking me up! omg....that sight is worse than Dons!
DeleteRub-a-dub-dub
ReplyDeleteThree men in a tub
Oh wait, they won't fit
With the dishes and grit
So push them aside
But make sure they're towel dried
'Cause three dripping men
Would be less than Zen!
Spaghetti between your toes
Deletewould certainly cause some woes!
Asparagus in your hair
of which you are aware
would not be a treat!
It would not be neat!
Soggy bread crumbs galore
add to family stories and more.
Bring back my dishwasher by Friday at noon
or with all this mess, I just might swoon!

ReplyDeleteYour bathtub soup
Might make my tongue droop!
Hi Betsy - sounds like it's moving apace - but great fun to have the record ... a bath of soup ... such is life with a reno ... take care and have a great 4th day .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHopefully only another day without the sink. Washing dishes in the tub just once was enough for me!
DeleteI can't imagine how difficult this whole thing for all of you. It's kind of like you went back in time to the days before modern appliances, except with construction thrown in on top of that. Though it sounds like the work is going relatively quickly and you won't be without your sink too long. And it's great that the boys seem to like this adventure, too.
ReplyDeleteWe're hanging in there pretty well! I don't think I could take too many more days of it, but nobody has cracked up yet. haha.
DeleteEvery step is exciting Betsy! Love your windows!! Hey bathtub has hot and cold water..what's not to like:)
ReplyDeleteYes, just imagine if we didn't have any water in the whole house! That would be REALLY bad. I do like modern plumbing, afterall. ha.
DeleteDishes in the bathtub ~ how funny.
ReplyDeleteSorry I am so late commenting . . . baby Peter requires a lot of attention . . .
Hope the work is progressing well . . . . :)
It does seem to be! The floor was a setback, but what can you do? It will be fine in the end!
Deletedishes in the bath tub. BTDT. worth the trouble if you survive, and you all will. Hang in there. Taria
ReplyDeleteYes, it will be most certainly worth the trouble! Just one more week!
