Kitchen Reno Day Ten

Today I moved the make shift living room kitchen back in!
The dishwasher and I worked in tandem for 9 hours washing each
item before things went into cupboards and drawers!

Funny how things didn't end up how I imagined them.
I thought I'd put dishes into those lit cabinets!
But I have so many drawers and cupboards, I decided
maybe displaying some nicer pieces would be more fun.

It feels good to look at something that is clean and orderly. ha.

All these clean pots and pans and I'm too tired to cook. haha.
I think it will be a frozen pizza in the oven tonight.

    2. Agree with Deb about the windows . . . I see they, or two of them, are sash design. Are they wood or UPVC?

I love the lighted cabinets. Very nice.
You might be pleased to know that my kitchen had a mess today too after "someone" put his foot though the roof.
Oh well, It was just a small mess really. It didn't stop me from whipping up an apple pie or two this afternoon.

    1. Thanks, Deb. They were just plain rectangles and I dressed them up a bit with the peaks and stained glass look.

    1. It's kind of like moving in for the first time....everything neat and tidy and in it's place. Some real living in it and it probably won't stay like that. ha.

  10. Oo-la-la! Love your display and I agree that if you have room for the dishes elsewhere, why not display your special pieces there. Looks so great Betsy - like a magazine!

Love your glass-fronted cupboards, I've always wanted one or two of those in my kitchen, they make a beautiful display case.
Hope the most of the work is behind you now, and everything all clean and sparkly just in time for Thanksgiving dinner :)

    1. It was pretty fun finding a spot for everything. But you should have seen the mister trying to find a spoon last night. ha. Nothing is in the same place as the old kitchen!

  14. Seeing your kitchen beginning to bloom makes me think about modernising my own, throw out the old dresser and cupboards and pay a visit to Ikea.
I see you like "whiteware" crockery, same as me. Eating off patterned plates, especially flower patterns, puts me off my food!
I also have the same wooden cutlery (flatware?) trays as you! Great minds think alike!

    1. Well, I know you're joking about that.....you wouldn't get rid of all that lovely old world charm! I do love white ironstone (that's what we call it) and it's plentiful at the auctions. Maybe pieces I've found in the trash, including our dinner plates. Yes, great minds. :) But we already knew that. ha.

    1. Well, we (me and the dishwasher) we both doing dishes simultaneously, so it wasn't really tangles...maybe more like the Tango. lol....
