Today I moved the make shift living room kitchen back in!
The dishwasher and I worked in tandem for 9 hours washing each
item before things went into cupboards and drawers!
Funny how things didn't end up how I imagined them.
I thought I'd put dishes into those lit cabinets!
But I have so many drawers and cupboards, I decided
maybe displaying some nicer pieces would be more fun.
It feels good to look at something that is clean and orderly. ha.
All these clean pots and pans and I'm too tired to cook. haha.
I think it will be a frozen pizza in the oven tonight.
♥
It all looks fabulous and yet it isn't finished yet . . . just imagine what it will be like when it is completed.
ReplyDeleteA marathon of dish washing . . . and moving stuff back into the kitchen . . .
Love the cutlery drawer.
You are very orderly . . . great to have a place for everything and to know where it is . . . :)
Gosh . . . I am first tonight !! . . . :)
Delete. . .and second . . .
Delete. . . and third . . . . lol
DeleteAgree with Deb about the windows . . . I see they, or two of them, are sash design. Are they wood or UPVC?
DeleteWe call them vinyl here. :)
DeleteInteresting! We do have some different words for things . . . . :)
DeleteAnd the windows to the right ~ do they give you the view to Golden Girl ? . . . :)
. . .sorry I should say Garden Girl . . .
DeleteRight those three windows that make up the nook is where my desk is...where I take most of my picture of birds and Garden Girl. I miss that!
DeleteI expect you will be moving your desk back soon then you can relax and see and photograph your favorite things . . :)
DeleteLove the illuminated cabinets displaying your choice 'nick nacks' . . . :)
. . .and yes I can see where your desk fits . . . the third window of the alcove is on the right and I can compare with the photo on your footer piccie . . called "My Little Nook" . . . :)
DeleteIt looks great and it's moving along at a wonderful rate of speed!
ReplyDeleteI love the lighted cabinets. Very nice.
You might be pleased to know that my kitchen had a mess today too after "someone" put his foot though the roof.
Oh well, It was just a small mess really. It didn't stop me from whipping up an apple pie or two this afternoon.
:0)
Hey, Eddie! Cut that out!!!
ok Martha . . . :)
DeleteOh dear! That happened here years ago, except it was the mister stepping through the attic and into the garage. ha.
DeleteLooks wonderful, Betsy. I am so in love with those windows. Deb
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deb. They were just plain rectangles and I dressed them up a bit with the peaks and stained glass look.
DeleteA beautiful kitchen Betsy with beautiful
ReplyDeleteCabinets!
It's coming along now! Still needs paint, backsplash, counter tops and floor...oh, and lights! ha. It is looking much better though!
DeleteLooking really good Betsy!! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy....much better already!
DeleteReally!! Your cabinets are museum-worthy. Stunning.
ReplyDeletehaha...really? Well, thanks...and it was fun to have a place to put some of my auction finds.
DeleteLooks awesome indeed
ReplyDeleteThere at your feed
9 hours, wow
Surprised the poor dishwasher didn't have a cow
Dishwasher seems fine
Deletebut my dish pan hands are not so sublime!
Looking good! So nice that you have so much drawer and cupboard space. Now, go rest!
ReplyDeleteI did...put my feet up but boy, I was fine until I sat down then I was tired! ha. Hard to get back up!
DeleteI'll snuggle down in my studio again tomorrow to stay out of Kris' way and recupe. ha
Looking real good!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? It's starting to look like a kitchen now! Yay!
DeleteIt looks so great! I cannot imagine having such an orderly kitchen :)
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of like moving in for the first time....everything neat and tidy and in it's place. Some real living in it and it probably won't stay like that. ha.
DeleteOo-la-la! Love your display and I agree that if you have room for the dishes elsewhere, why not display your special pieces there. Looks so great Betsy - like a magazine!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm loving the display! Why not? I'm putting extra lotion on my hands tonight and I know I'm going to sleep like a rock. ha.
DeleteCouldn't blame you one bit. Put your feet up and relax. Everything is looking great.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hilary....it's so nice to see everything coming together!
DeleteIt's all coming along nicely Betsy.
ReplyDeleteLove your glass-fronted cupboards, I've always wanted one or two of those in my kitchen, they make a beautiful display case.
Hope the most of the work is behind you now, and everything all clean and sparkly just in time for Thanksgiving dinner :)
~Jo
Thanks, Jo...and it's so good to see you! Yes, by Thanksgiving everything should be done, clean and in it's place. I can't wait!
DeleteIt looks great! Love the storage.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty fun finding a spot for everything. But you should have seen the mister trying to find a spoon last night. ha. Nothing is in the same place as the old kitchen!
DeleteSeeing your kitchen beginning to bloom makes me think about modernising my own, throw out the old dresser and cupboards and pay a visit to Ikea.
ReplyDeleteI see you like "whiteware" crockery, same as me. Eating off patterned plates, especially flower patterns, puts me off my food!
I also have the same wooden cutlery (flatware?) trays as you! Great minds think alike!
Well, I know you're joking about that.....you wouldn't get rid of all that lovely old world charm! I do love white ironstone (that's what we call it) and it's plentiful at the auctions. Maybe pieces I've found in the trash, including our dinner plates. Yes, great minds. :) But we already knew that. ha.
DeleteSend the dresser my way, Keith - I love it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI doubt if he'd have trouble finding a new home for it! We all love it!
DeleteWow. it's really looking good.
ReplyDeleteInnit? :)
DeleteLooking fantastic! I'm still eyeballing those windows..so pretty! Anyone who tangles with a dishwasher for nine hours deserves take out!
ReplyDeleteWell, we (me and the dishwasher) we both doing dishes simultaneously, so it wasn't really tangles...maybe more like the Tango. lol....
DeleteFabulous! I am envying the space in your drawer and that gadget for pan lids.
ReplyDeleteThat is Ikea! You can get it online, too!
