Kitchen Reno Day Sixteen

This afternoon The Mister put doors on the dining room cabinets.
I continued to wash up all the dusty dishes and filled the shelves!

Hard to get some good photos as it was already getting dark,
but you get the idea.  After all the chaos, this does my soul some good.
Starting to feel organized again!

    1. Thanks, Lynne...it's feeling good to get things washed up and put away. It's been a good time to purge and sort, too....

    1. Isn't that nice? I'm really happy with the way it turned out. It actually doesn't take up as much room as what we had before, so the room feels bigger. Now we just need to change out the light and move the table back in...waiting for the baseboards to be done before that, though.

    2. Hey...when is that wedding in your yard...soon, right?

    3. Well, the rush wedding that I was mowing grass frantically to get ready for, was postponed at the last minute! But yes, it was SUPPOSE to have been today!! Actually a big sigh of relief for me though. The bride had some "family" issues that came up, so she wanted to wait. And my grass needed to be cut anyway. LOL

  3. Stunning! I LOVE this. So bright and fresh and elegant. And how handy to have the drawers underneath to hide things, yet be able to switch things around when you wish. Congratulations - looks soooooooooooo lovely!

    1. We had picked something else out for this wall...until we saw this in a display. ha. It holds so much and looks so bright. And I love all that storage underneath! I'm getting so organized, Suzanne! haha...I can hardly stand it! lol....

  7. Wow! Your dining room cabinets are just beautiful! And I love the botanical prints. You have such a knack for decorating. I personally can't visualize anything. I decorate by the "trial and error" method, and end up returning many things before I'm satisfied. Can't wait to see the look completed. I hope the boys are continuing to cope with the changes.

    1. Thank you, Laurie. Nothing wrong with the trial and error method! Been there and done that! Sometimes you just can't know what you want until you try a view things. The boys are doing just great...really unphased...I'm so thankful for that!

    1. No, the kitchen flows right into the dining room. It was actually the family room until we added on about 15 years ago!

  9. BEAUTIFUL!

Are you going to swap out the items in the open cabinets on a regular basis?

    1. I don't know...I suppose I could when the mood strikes me! It would be very versatile! Right now I plan on enjoying it just like that. But knowing me, some things will make their way home from the auctions that I might want to enjoy in there. It took me a while to get the balance just right...I'm kind of OCD that way. haha. ,....so it will probably stay this way for a while.

    1. Yes, from another dish hoarder...that is so true! So many shelves and storage! Still, I've been really good and have a ton of things set aside to be sold in my shop. Trying to be more selective in what I keep!

  20. Beautiful! So bright, and so organized, not cluttered looking at all. Are these cabinets also Ikea? Are they bolted to the wall for stability?
Love the red glass pitcher and drinking glasses in the middle. Wish I could see your botanical prints in a direct picture though. Have you considered putting one of those pan and zoom pictures up?

    1. I am really trying to overcome my cluttered look! haha. I have a tendency to fill things to the brim...all lovely things, but a little overboard. haha. It's in my genes! I'm liking the uncluttered, simple look...so much better! I'll show the botanical prints again up close...they are amazing...lithographs....

I don't know how to do a pan and zoom! I'll have to check that out. :)
