Can She Bake A Berry Pie?

She can bake a berry pie
in the twinkling of an eye! ♪♪♪

I puttered in the kitchen today and this was the result!
Real butter, all from scratch, pie a la mode.

There's something therapeutic about baking.
I can be alone with my thoughts and just enjoy the process.
And later, enjoy the results!

    1. I thought about adding the recipe, but it's really just a typical blueberry pie...with a little sugar, corn starch, salt and cinnamon. The crust is Martha Stewart's pate brisee, which I always use for my crusts. Yum!

My blueberries don't look so happy this year. If I make a pie I just might have to buy y berries for the first time in 13 years.
You know, I always loved baking, but the stress levels over the years took the joy out of it. I was blessed on Tuesday to find I was actually enjoying it again.

    2. too bad about your berries! I wonder what the problem is...they always look so good with the kiddos picking them! How wonderful, too, that you enjoyed some baking. I noticed today how much I was enjoying it and I think it's because I wasn't rushed, it wasn't a time crunch and I didn't have anything else going on...no distractions. So nice!

tomorrow? Well, I hope you have a really fun time!

    3. He does make yummy pies, too. He just made an aple pie last week and a cherry the week before. He also made one for our next door neighbor. She has been giving us tomatoes, cucumbers and zucchini. Her garden is overflowing! We didn't plant one this year.

      Delete
    4. Well, it doesn't sound like you needed to plant one! Ha....that's even better! I'm sure she appreciated the pie...how thoughtful!

  16. Looks yummy! I tried out the Mason Jar pies, I need to perfect the flaky crust a little bit more. Because I don't want to eat a whole blueberry pie, I made 2 of the jar pies and 1 apple pie for Kevin from one basic pie crust . I gave the other jar pie to the neighbor that lets me pick blueberries from his land...he's so generous, he even lets me put a couple of things of my own in his garden plot...so I had to "pay him back"!

    1. I've never tried those jar pies but they look so cute! If you want to try this crust recipe, just google Martha Stewart pate brisee. I've used it for years and it's always really good!

While looking at jar recipes, I saw one for Boston Cream Pie. Have you even had it? I'm hungry for it...haven't had it in years and years...in fact, I've never made one myself! I've seen it three times on Pinterest this week....I'm taking that as a sign that I need to make it!
