I love the way you did the quote in 'fireworks'- that is a great shot- you could frame it and add it to your summer entry! Do you have fun plans for the Fourth?
Just noticed Harry is sick.....praying it's quick and the others don't catch it...I will be sorting for the Yard Sale back at the other place this weekend. Yard/moving sale July 12.
It's hard to believe it's been so long since all the fire hydrants in our town were painted like patriots to celebrate the bicentennial. Happy Birthday, America! :0)
So far so good. My throat was sore earlier but I think I killed it....caught it right away. Harry, on the other hand, is about the same. I didn't notice he was sick until he was well into it....one of the bad parts of being non-verbal. Sigh!
Eddie - I say, steady on old chap. You'll have Betsy talking like an Oxford graduate soon, and that's just not cricket, chummy! I much prefer her Western accent any day.
Sorry about Harry :( Hope your family wasn't going anywhere or planning on anything big. Have you heard from Taylor and Lauren? I started getting ready for the 4th, having my bunting up. Lots of flags tomorrow! Happy 4th of July Betsy!
We didn't have any plans that will be spoiled, so all is well. I haven't heard from them, but I don't bother them, either. I know they got there safely, so that's all I need to know. I'm sure they are having a blast!
Happy Fourth! I hope your weekend is relaxing and non-illness filled fun. It's slightly less broiling outside so I went to get my hair cut (super short!) and picked up some more groceries too. Rosemary ham, tri-coloured baby potatoes, asparagus, blueberries, few varieties of cheese all kinds of nummy things. I feel like feasting. Can't decide what to have first! Ha! I love your patriotic cup and graphic design - very clever!
Happy Fourth of July! Just remember if it wasn't for the British sense of decency you wouldn't be celebrating today. We could have asserted our authority and made you stay in the Empire! But seeing that your forbearer's were so nice we let you go. . . . .
You forgot to say Keith we are coming back and taking our country back by force . . . . gosh can you imagine it! No we shall just ring up and say can we be no 51 please! lol. Better off with our cousins across the pond than in Europe. . . . lol
The best accent of course!! Spfiing, Toodle Pip, Jolly Hockey Sticks, Crumbs, Frightfully Good, You are getting up my gander!, I will bob you if you are not careful, Silly Sod, . . . . . etc.. But of course you would have to put a few u's in your words like armour, honour and hunour . . . lol

ReplyDeleteDo you have fun plans for the Fourth?
We don't have any big plans. Harry is sick, so I'm just waiting for the others to catch it, too. Fever, cough and sore throat. Yuck, yuck.
DeleteHappy July fourth.Betsy:)
ReplyDeleteI understand Harry I feel miserable with my flu.
DeleteI hope the others be ok.
xo
Yeah, he's feeling yucky. Hope you get better soon!
DeleteHappy 4th July
ReplyDeleteShame about the sickness - hope it goes soon :)
Thank, Ed. :)
DeleteThe sickness will either leave quickly or we'll all be miserable together this holiday weekend. haha.
Let's hope it leaves quickly - shame if the weekend was spoilt - keep gargling with vingegar - good antiseptic . . . would taste awful though lol :)
DeleteI'll taste like a salad! ha.
DeleteWhat a great illustration for 4th of July. You are really a master with that camera, and you clever designer ideas. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThat was fun to do...puttering around with some editing. :)
DeleteHappy 4th!!! I hope that Harry is better soon! xx
ReplyDeleteHe's a good patient, at least. Sleeps and entertains himself. :)
DeleteJust noticed Harry is sick.....praying it's quick and the others don't catch it...I will be sorting for the Yard Sale back at the other place this weekend. Yard/moving sale July 12.

ReplyDeleteSorry Harry is sick - hope the rest of you avoid it.
So far so good. My throat was sore earlier but I think I killed it....caught it right away. Harry, on the other hand, is about the same. I didn't notice he was sick until he was well into it....one of the bad parts of being non-verbal. Sigh!

Eddie - Betsy and I have an understanding, she won't mind.
DeleteKeith, you're the only person in the world that will get away with calling me that!
DeleteIt worked! I can comment again!
ReplyDeletePoor Harry, I hope he gets better soon.
DeleteYou commenting is the best thing that's happened to me all day! That is spiffing news, what!
DeleteSee Keith we are gradually educating her regarding really important words like spiffing and toodle pip ! LOL
Deletetoodle pip? lol....
DeleteI wouldn't even know how to use that in a sentence!
DeleteIt's an old fashioned Brit phrase amongst the stuffy aristocrasy for goodbye . . . . . toodle pip!! . . . . . . ROLF
DeleteI've heard of toodles as a good bye, but not the pip!
DeleteEddie - I say, steady on old chap. You'll have Betsy talking like an Oxford graduate soon, and that's just not cricket, chummy! I much prefer her Western accent any day.
DeleteAh, flattery will get you everything, Keith. :)
DeleteKeith, mate!!!
DeleteJust what is your secret with the ladies??
Come down to Keynsam and tell me!! . . . . lol
I use "tara a bit" - holdover from a friend of mine in Birmingham. It means "Goodbye" or "See you later."
DeleteYes Tara - a northern english for as your friend says. Another is Tat Tar
Deletebeautiful , have a great 4th of July!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurie....I think we will....quiet and relaxing at home. Yummy food...thankful hearts. :)

The nasty germs will die
Then all will be spry
I've washed my hands so many times today

ReplyDeleteYesterday I redid my toenails and in honer of the Fourth I used the blue polish I got from you last year. It looks very patriotic :-)
How very fun! Jennifer's last post shows her pretty patriotic toes, too! I should have done that!
DeleteHappy 4th Betsy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jenny!
DeleteHappy Fourth of July! Just remember if it wasn't for the British sense of decency you wouldn't be celebrating today. We could have asserted our authority and made you stay in the Empire! But seeing that your forbearer's were so nice we let you go. . . . .
ReplyDeleteJoke!

DeleteNo we shall just ring up and say can we be no 51 please! lol. Better off with our cousins across the pond than in Europe. . . . lol
Eddie- I agree.
Deleteyes, being #51 would be a great idea. Your whole country is the size of some of our states anyway! haha. And what's one more accent?
DeleteThe best accent of course!! Spfiing, Toodle Pip, Jolly Hockey Sticks, Crumbs, Frightfully Good, You are getting up my gander!, I will bob you if you are not careful, Silly Sod, . . . . . etc.. But of course you would have to put a few u's in your words like armour, honour and hunour . . . lol

ReplyDeleteThanks, Cat. It's been one full of surprises, that's for sure!

ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful photo. I was wondering how you and all of your boys were celebrating this year. Happy 4th to your gang as well.
ReplyDeleteWe just had a nice day at home! Harry is sick and Taylor and Lauren are in Nashville. We grilled burgers and put our feet up! :)
