    1. Sleeping in cardboard really isn't acting regal, is it!

  3. Ha! Love this. They do love to contort themselves into cardboard. And who is that in the background to the left of your computer? And is there one on the right? Can't quite tell. You're surrounded, I tell ya!

    2. We did the same thing! Simple times, huh! Blanket forts were my favorite!

    3. I loved blanket forts too. I think cats like cardboard boxes because it warms up quickly with their warmth... and also because it's malleable when it comes to squishing their pudginess inside. :-) I wish I could find a picture of one of my cats, Kotsko, a beautiful, big long-haired ginger boy. One Christmas I got a pair of red leather boots and all day he "worked" that box so he could get comfy.

    4. Aw...yes, you might be right! When our first little litter first was here and their mom still hissed at us, teaching her babies to be scared of us, I took a box out to the back porch and let them play in it. Boy, did they enjoy that box! They destroyed it! So funny...and it was a break-through in them thinking I was fun and safe. yay for boxes!

  12. Betsy, Your photos are getting just too precious to bear. Each one is better than the one before. Love the back legs. They look like jack rabbit feet. Cats do love to squeeze into tight spaces. So glad you were able to adopt dear Slate. He's a real prize, but doesn't seem conceited. :-) Lynne in NC

  14. Our cat used to stuff himself into the board game box we were currently playing. Every once in awhile the pay would come out to swipe at our game pieces. I miss having a cat!

  15. Hi Betsy,

Thank you so much for the comment. It truly surprised me when I saw how well it worked. It also seems to work on those cut up salad mixes, but for them it is a good idea to put in a paper towel until all the moisture is in the paper towel and you throw the wet one away and add a new one. It is the moisture that is bad for the salad mixture. And it also works for when you have leftover lettuce leaves once you have pulled them off. I have also heard it is a good idea to take the stem out because it makes the lettuce taste bitter, but then again I have heard that you should leave it in. I am not sure what other veggies it works on because some need the moisture.

As to how I am feeling, what can I say. I have lived for the two months out of the two to three months prediction, and I think I am hopefully starting to feel better. I am staying awake for longer periods of time, which is fairly nice which I hope means my heart is getting stronger. And this is one of the few times I have felt like I could write a comment and not take two hours to do it and not fall asleep every ten minutes. I do read posts but writing is harder. Usually it takes two to four hours just to write my Theme Thursdays prompts. I am just typing one minute and then sleeping the next. Trying to watch the TV is just so funny and I usually record what I watch because I zonk out and have to rewind back to the last part I was watching then zonk out, rewind. One time I think it took me four hours to watch an hour show. It is pretty funny if you think about it.

Gotta go because I'm about to zonk out again. LOL

    God bless.

  17. Whoops, forgot to say that he is a beautiful cat and strangely my Pitbull dogs like to sleep in boxes too small for them. They look pretty much like Slate does here.

  18. Too cute. You've got to love how cats do that. I bought a pendant which came in a small jewellery box.. no larger than 3 inches by 2. It was open on the island in the kitchen and my cat had to make sure he sat with his two front paws wedged inside that box. They are ever amusing.

  20. As you will have imagined, I absolutely loved your portrait of regal Tiger. But this domestic snapshot of Slate is just as adorable. Pressing into narrow cardboard boxes seems to be international cat behaviour. The picture is so nice and how wonderful that Slate found you! For him it's the jackpot anyway, but it also seems to work out for you especially well. You can never have too much love and affection in your life. So much warmth and comfort seems to have been brought to your house by your tender and beautiful furry friends....
