  3. The sun shines on the righteous! It's been glorious here!! LOL
Gosh what a downpour - I'm not sure whether Garden Girl has ever been as wet.
Looking at the water shooting out of the down pipe, golly! . . . . . and the view into the garden - it certainly knows how to rain there.
The kettle - if it were here I bet Great Tits would nest in it. They are some of our more colourful birds.
    Bird Bath looks full.
All great shots nicely put together.
Are you using your new camera exclusively now?

    2. Strange. We had a violent storm in Leicester this afternoon, and you had nice sunny weather. There's no justice in this world !

    4. Sorry...it is my blog, you know. ha. I'm sure he'll be around to reply, something about being righteous again. What will we do with him?

    5. Keith, fancy telling Betsy she got in the way, like that! Don't you Leicester guys know how to treat a lady?
If you were a true gentleman you would have said, "This is my lucky day!"
Yes, I have returned and would say, we are much more favoured from above than you guys in Leicester - you can't even put a decent rugby team together!!! ROFL

    6. Betsy, there is a saying in a small town called Darwen in the north of England where is rains so much.
"If you can't see the tower on the hill, lt's raing!
If you can see it - it is going to rain!"
And in the Lake District it rains so hard we sometimes call it The Leak District!" . . . . lol

    7. We have just enough spring rains, I think...they are scattered between lots of sunny days. Our summers get quite hot, though...mid 90
s and so dry the grass turns brown and crunchy some years.

  4. Oh, I am second this time and I might be envious of your beautiful rain! It is so dry over here and I have to spend a lot of time to keep my flowers alive, Whereas your blue blossoms beautifully. Your garden in the shade already has such an romantic air.Very poetic pictures, Betsy. Love them all

  10. I'd say, it's raining!
That's called "gully washer" in our area.
(A torrential rain that causes ditches to overflow creating flash floods on streets and roadways)

When did you get rain....Friday? Must have been why we had so much cloud at the cottage that evening...

  13. Beautiful rainy shots - you captured them so well. Harry looks sweet. And Shadow... is his tail slightly bobbed? Maybe it's the angle but it does not look like it tapers but is kind of blunt. Shhhhh... don't tell him I said so! I think he is still very dashing. :-)

    1. haha...no, his tail is just curled under! It looks about 5 inches shorter there! haha.

  21. Wow, that really is a lot of rain!!!! I am hoping for dry here for the next three weeks while we have the builders, so please don't send it here when you are done with it!! xx

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh, yeah...you need dry weather! But three weeks without rain in England is just about impossible, isn't it? ha. Still, we can hope!

      Delete
    2. You are right, three weeks with no rain would be surprising, but we do have very long dry spells from time to time, so we might get lucky. It can rain while they are putting up the scaffold and taking the render off, but not while the roof tiles are off or the back door out or the gutters down, or the render going back on, or the painting or or or............. You get the drift, basically it is all weather dependent apart from the very first and very last jobs of the scaffold! We will see what happens! xx

  22. Really lovely photos! Oh, how I'd love to see a peaceful garden touched by rain right now! Your black cat reminds me of a cat we had once named Cricket.

I took a moment to read your bio...teenaged sons with autism. My nephew is autistic (now 21) and I don't know how my sister did it these years, raising him! he's a joy! But autism is such a challenge. God bless you! (By the way, my sister and her hubby are the people who are in charge of the Wingfoot Celebrity Golf Challenge every year that raises money for autism research. I think it was this past week, and I should do a blog post! They started the Autism Coalition also that was later taken over and morphed into Autism Speaks. They no longer run that operation but are on the board. I am so proud of them!)

Also, my hubby and I used to own a PI & security company and school. I've repo'd a few cars, too. :-)

    1. Cricket is a great name...I'll have to remember that for the next black cat!

I love Autism Speaks! How fun to hear that your sister and husband were instrumental in that organization becoming what it is today! My boys are now 20. I guess I need to update that teenage part....must find that. I wouldn't want to relive the younger years, that's for sure! Yes, it is a challenge...each child and their treatment is unique....even among my three.

You've repo'd cars? haha....we're a select group! Fun and scary times! lol....
