Great shots of Mr. Nuthatch - he looks so streamlined and aerodynamic!
He's a trapeze artist! So smooth! ha.
Happy Summer Solstice - I am heading out to enjoy the longest day.
You sound like the mister...loving the summer!
Well I hate the heat... but it's absolutely perfect weather these last few days. Sunny, 20C (70F), a slight breeze and no humidity! Now... if it would only stay like that! Although I am having a wee problem with allergies - not earth-shattering ones though :-)
Yes, that is perfect weather! What can't it stay that way for a few months??? haha. I do love the late daylight, though!
I really find these birds so entertaining. You have captured some great shots here.
I'll never forget the first time I saw one running up and down a tree trunk! I thought I was seeing things!
Terrific pics, Betsy. Have a good night.
Thanks, Mildred! Love the fence avatar!
Great capture, Betsy! They rarely sit still that's for sure!
I've had to get sneaky and sit there, camera in hand and wait for his arrival. He grabs a seed and flies over to another tree to eat it! I think he's teasing me!
Great pictures, Betsy! I noticed on your side bar that you're fighting a sore throat- I just finished off a week of misery from that. I really hope you're able to end up the conqueror!
I actually won that battle! Yay! Feel much better, thanks!
great to get the fast moving Nuthatch Betsy; tfs
Thank you, Carole....they are almost as bad as chickadees!
You did good! He's a cute little guy. I love the way they hang off the feeder.
They really are cute. I think he lives in the neighbor's tree....not to far from mine with the seed.
Beautiful...I wish California had such lovely birds. Wonder if I will see any new birds from the balcony. We cannot hang any feeders of any kind on the balcony or wind chimes...CC&R's....but I can live with it. Guess I have too. HaHa.
You're up with the tree tops! You might be able to see some nests! ha.
You are getting so good with that camera. The lessons have paid off too!Stricking!
I think Brian has said it all ROFLBut loved all the photos and the detail is incredible. The last one shows him in rock climbing mode, defying gravity with a tenuous footholds.Thank goodness he can fly! . . . . . lol
Yep...look at those feet! Better than cat claws! haha. He can run up and down tree trunks like a squirrel. Really funny to watch.
Awesome shots! I love the last one.
I think that shot is my favorite, too!
Lovely, especially the last one. You captured the acrobatic nature of the nuthatch so well.
They really are acrobatic, aren't they? cirque du soleil haha. Thanks, Phil.
Dear Betsy, it's my everyday joy to look at your marvellous pictures! Thank you so much! The nuthatch you captured so very brilliantly in so typical situations...And everybody who has ever tried to take pictures of birds, can appreciate how very well you have done with the focus here! And I loved Slate on the roof. His highly concentrated and dedicated face is so much fun. And so on, I could praise all of your pics! I also like the variety of your topics! Hopefully you will enjoy your Sunday; Betsy, and I am sure, something nice will come out of it for your audience, too...
Well, thanks Christel. You always say the nicest things! I knew you would love the picture of Slate on the roof! haha.
And I knew you would know I would love the picture of Slate...Hihi.
I know just what you mean about 'focus'....some birds, I think, tend to tease us with their beauty and are laughing as they flit off just as the shutter button is released.Sweet sweet photos. Love the dappled sunlight/shadows too. Thanks for linking up this weekend at the Bird D'Pot. Always appreciated.
Thanks, Anni....I guess that's what makes getting a good shot so rewarding! I sure enjoyed your baby and mama this week.
very sweet little bird!
isn't he? he must makes me smile. :)
Great close-ups! Love seeing him in greater detail than the far-away fleeting glimpses I had a month ago at Madera Canyon!
I'm lucky enough to have him living close....in the neighbor's tree very close to my yard. I wonder if there's nest of babies! A whole family coming over for dinner would be SO fun!
Is Mr. Wren still squawking?
Yes! I mentioned him first thing this morning! Calling away! Poor guy!
Ooooo - nice moon banner!
That moon never disappoints, does he? ha.
Firstly loooooveeeee your header moon..and the other day I was trying to get a click of this bird but was not able to get even one..I understand how difficult it would have been for you to get the pictures..beautiful pictures..
Oh, thanks...I think the moon is my favorite thing to photograph! So much fun!
your images of the nuthatch is great. :)
I'm serving coffee! Stay and chat! And no awards, please! Your comments are my awards!
