Waiting For The Bus

Spencer and Harrison, waiting for the bus this morning...
a miracle photo...two boys smiling for the camera! :)

The boys are fairly easy to get ready to go in the mornings.
Much easier than girls, I'm guessing!
They roll out of bed at 7:15 for the 7:40 bus.
We wash faces, gel hair, use the bathroom and get dressed.
We take meds, eat breakfast and usually have 5 minutes
to spare and watch for the bus.

Being the multi-tasker that I am, we use that 5 minutes
efficiently as possible.  Sometimes I sing their favorite songs.
Sometimes they try to sing along.  Some times we dance.
I make them laugh by reciting their favorite lines from movies.
I comment on the weather and look for the moon
out the front window.
And I've been known to clip fingernails, apply chap stick
and hand out extra hugs and kisses.

    1. Had to laugh...I found Alex to try his picture and he was having nothing of it. He had his grumpy look on that said, 'Don't even try pointing that camera at me!" lol....

    2. Ha! Alex is not a morning guy? Or not a camera guy? Or both! I would hate to have my picture taken in the morning... unless I had been up for a while and adjusted to the world. Some days that NEVER happens. :-)

    3. Both. haha. And his normal, relaxed facial expression is often misinterpreted as angry. lol....I've posted photos of him before looking really sweet and I'll get comments asking me what he's mad about! haha....

  12. Brilliant that they smiled - it must be worth more than gold to you Betsy. And shame Alex did not join the party.
Hey I can tell those guys apart now - there are very subtle differences. Coming back to the smiles. They look so genuine - I am so chuffed.
And love the way you motivate them and muti-task. Such a loving mother and they are very lucky you are their Mom. Their smiles speak that they really love you.
I envy your gender you mulyi-tasking skills! LOL
In fact I wrote a post on it once featuring a chap looking like Fred Flinstone called Freddie Bluelights ROFL

    1. Why thanks, Ed...that's all very sweet of you to say! They do love their mom, that is for sure....especially Alex, who waits and watches at the front window when I'm not there. Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. :) He'll do that tomorrow when he gets off the bus and his dad is there, but no mom! lol...

I'm looking forward to your post. Freddie Bluelights...oh my...sounds like it's going to be a hoot! ;)

There are differences between those two! Harry isn't identical to Spencer and Alex....but he sure looks very similar!

    2. I expect they all looked much more similar when they were babies.
So you are at the auction tomorrow?
Wonder what you will bring home this time!
So is Alex the most affectionate?

      Delete
    3. Yes, in fact Spencer and Alex, who are identical, looked so much alike we kept their ankle bracelets on a few days until we could tell them apart!
Auction tomorrow...looks like a good one!
Actually, Harry is the most affectionate. He loves to hug and give kisses...to everyone. lol.... He especially loves Lauren,...but how can you blame him, right? ha.

      Delete
    4. Interesting... because Harry is the one who doesn't mind Slate in the bed, correct? More proof of his affection. And who wouldn't want to hug and kiss Lauren? :-)

      Delete
  13. I didn't know 'Harry' was 'Harrison'! Love that name . . . my husband and I decided years ago that if we were to have another boy he would be a Harrison. :)
Anyway, they look like such great guys . . . love boys!
