Spencer and Harrison, waiting for the bus this morning...
a miracle photo...two boys smiling for the camera! :)
The boys are fairly easy to get ready to go in the mornings.
Much easier than girls, I'm guessing!
They roll out of bed at 7:15 for the 7:40 bus.
We wash faces, gel hair, use the bathroom and get dressed.
We take meds, eat breakfast and usually have 5 minutes
to spare and watch for the bus.
Being the multi-tasker that I am, we use that 5 minutes
efficiently as possible. Sometimes I sing their favorite songs.
Sometimes they try to sing along. Some times we dance.
I make them laugh by reciting their favorite lines from movies.
I comment on the weather and look for the moon
out the front window.
And I've been known to clip fingernails, apply chap stick
and hand out extra hugs and kisses.
♥
Oh my gosh - they look so good!
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh...I found Alex to try his picture and he was having nothing of it. He had his grumpy look on that said, 'Don't even try pointing that camera at me!" lol....
DeleteHa! Alex is not a morning guy? Or not a camera guy? Or both! I would hate to have my picture taken in the morning... unless I had been up for a while and adjusted to the world. Some days that NEVER happens. :-)
DeleteBoth. haha. And his normal, relaxed facial expression is often misinterpreted as angry. lol....I've posted photos of him before looking really sweet and I'll get comments asking me what he's mad about! haha....
DeleteWow, you can pack a lot into 5 minutes Betsy!!! What a great use of a spare few moments and what fun for you! xx
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm running on coffee already at that point! haha.
DeleteWow - you do a LOT in five minutes... why doesn't that surprise me?
ReplyDeleteHa! Was writing at the same time as Amy with the same sentiment!
ReplyDeletehaha...great minds!
DeleteIt is a fantastic photo of the guys! Alex was having NO PART of it I am guessing!!!
ReplyDeleteHe closes his eyes as soon as he sees the camera. Ugh! That boy!
DeleteSweet smiles and sweet boys ♥
ReplyDeleteYes, they are so sweet! :)
DeleteNo wonder they look so happy. They have a great mom!
ReplyDeleteaw...that was very sweet! :)
Deleteoh Betsy you are a treasure, those smiles are the proof of it, they have your eyes,
ReplyDeleteThey do have my eyes! But everything else is Brock, Brock, Brock! haha....
DeleteI love this...and I love that you sing to them...warms my heart! We sometimes said a quick scripture from Psalms too!
ReplyDeletePsalms? OH, I'm not near as good as you! I'm reciting lines from the classic 101 Dalmatians. lol....
DeleteAwwwww such handsome boys!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
thanks dear kitty! ;)
DeleteAwww - such a great picture! I loved reading about your morning with them. You get a lot done in a short time. They are blessed to have such a great mom!
ReplyDeleteWe do get a lot done! Every once in awhile we are running late, though. Then there's yelling and no singing. hahaha....
DeleteBrilliant that they smiled - it must be worth more than gold to you Betsy. And shame Alex did not join the party.
ReplyDeleteHey I can tell those guys apart now - there are very subtle differences. Coming back to the smiles. They look so genuine - I am so chuffed.
And love the way you motivate them and muti-task. Such a loving mother and they are very lucky you are their Mom. Their smiles speak that they really love you.
I envy your gender you mulyi-tasking skills! LOL
In fact I wrote a post on it once featuring a chap looking like Fred Flinstone called Freddie Bluelights ROFL
If you have time see http://eddybluelights.blogspot.co.uk/2010/01/freddie-bluelights-on-why-women-can.html
Part of a series
Why thanks, Ed...that's all very sweet of you to say! They do love their mom, that is for sure....especially Alex, who waits and watches at the front window when I'm not there. Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. :) He'll do that tomorrow when he gets off the bus and his dad is there, but no mom! lol...
DeleteI'm looking forward to your post. Freddie Bluelights...oh my...sounds like it's going to be a hoot! ;)
There are differences between those two! Harry isn't identical to Spencer and Alex....but he sure looks very similar!
I expect they all looked much more similar when they were babies.
DeleteSo you are at the auction tomorrow?
Wonder what you will bring home this time!
So is Alex the most affectionate?
Yes, in fact Spencer and Alex, who are identical, looked so much alike we kept their ankle bracelets on a few days until we could tell them apart!
DeleteAuction tomorrow...looks like a good one!
Actually, Harry is the most affectionate. He loves to hug and give kisses...to everyone. lol.... He especially loves Lauren,...but how can you blame him, right? ha.
Interesting... because Harry is the one who doesn't mind Slate in the bed, correct? More proof of his affection. And who wouldn't want to hug and kiss Lauren? :-)
DeleteAgree entirely ROFL
DeleteI didn't know 'Harry' was 'Harrison'! Love that name . . . my husband and I decided years ago that if we were to have another boy he would be a Harrison. :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, they look like such great guys . . . love boys!
Great minds, Jenniffer. :)
DeleteSo happy! Mornings are for multi-tasking aren't they? What am I saying? Moms multi-task all day long. :)
ReplyDeleteyes....and we're good at it, too, right? ha.
DeleteThis picture is absolutely lovely and they look happy and cute
ReplyDeleteLove this picture Betsy:))
I was so happy I caught them both smiling! Yay! ha.
DeleteWhat sweet they are Betsy:))
DeleteYes, they are...I'm so glad! :)
DeleteYou're the best!
ReplyDeleteExtra hugs and kisses are always a good idea.
I miss my brother.
:0)
extra hugs and kisses....I totally agree!
DeleteThey look so relaxed and happy :)
ReplyDeleteThey are quite laid back and easy going. Alex, not so much! ha.
DeleteYes, you're quite the multi-tasker! After they leave do you keep chugging along, or stop for a well-deserved rest?
ReplyDeleteAfter they leave I throw in a load of laundry and enjoy another cup of coffee while I check blogs and emails. Then about 9:00 I start chugging along again. ha. You gotta enjoy the solitude a little, right? :)
Deleteextra hugs and kisses are always good...smiles...
ReplyDeleteand the dancing and singing is fun....and glad you got your smiles....
our boys make it to the couch and try to go back to sleep.
ha.
Marry tries to do that! Or he stands in the bathroom like a zombie and zones out til I get on him. lol....
DeleteThey look as happy as can be
ReplyDeleteDamn, you go go go at your sea
But then that i knew
You even give slobber too lol
But I have good slobber.
DeleteI don't think anyone it would bother. lol....
Have to go go go....
lots to do at my show!
But stopping at your place is always a must
as my day starts after the bus!
:)
Glad the cat makes the list
DeleteAnd even with zombie feet can't be missed
Yeah, I may sigh and roll my eyes
Deletebut your posts are always a surprise!
lol.....
You inspire me!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo of your handsome men! Love those smiles!

A big kiss♥️
DeleteGreat mom...YOU...great mom❤️.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Janice! :)
DeleteWonderful photo! Great to see smiling, happy faces. Sounds like you have a good time with them in the morning.
ReplyDeleteHad one bad morning with Alex last week. Thankfully, those are few and far between! ha.
DeleteWhat cute welcome smiles to see getting back home this afternoon. Love your new header too.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you back! I've missed you!
DeleteThey are smiling because they have a dedicated mother.
ReplyDeleteYou're too sweet, really. :)
DeleteYou're right, a photo featuring two smiling boys is a miracle. Ha.
ReplyDeletemaybe I'll start trying for three....

ReplyDeleteReally sweet picture:)
Yes, maybe you're right! haha....they do love their mom! :)
DeleteYou are a great mom Betsy..Like the smiles of the boys..
ReplyDeleteThose smiles are so sweet! I love them, too!
DeleteI always marvel at your tenacity and creativity. It is so hard to raise kids and you have extra challenges that I can't even imagine. You are a true hero.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Sarah. That's very sweet of you to say! :)
DeleteHi Betsy - such a lovely photo and so pleased for you ... keeping the boys happy and cheerful is a huge achievement ... so pleased they're still enjoying school ... Happy Mother's Day ... cheers Hilary
