Sand Art

The little art projects the boys bring home each week from their day
program aren't usually anything that I care to keep around.
But these little glass bottles of sand make me smile and add a touch
of color to my window at the kitchen sink.  They didn't have names
on them, but I'd guess Alex's is the center one.  I can just hear some
one say, "Whoa, buddy!  Let's add another color there
with the purple!"  haha.  How cheery they are!

    2. I take it they are over generous with their application of paints and materials and perhaps a little may be spilled! LOL

    4. No, I haven't watched the videos yet.
Glad you're feeling much better today, though. I've lost my energy and bounce. Did you take it? lol....
Better have another cup of coffee....

  7. How sweet. You know Jaya (Jill's husband) sells black sand with gold specks from their beach to people back East who use the black sand with gold specks for candles. Your little bottles remind me of those candles.

    1. One time they made papers with glue and glitter and then stuffed them into their lunch boxes. We saw glitter for weeks!

  14. I still have sand art around my house from when my kids were in school. I can never bring myself to ever get rid of them even though my kids are in their thirties, late twenties. They are way too precious!

  17. What a great way to display these treasures! The kids in our Sunday School class LOVE to do sand art, but for the very reasons you said, I don't do it very often. It is a mess. But, fun! Thank you so much for popping in on my blog. I am taking a break from writing posts, but not from my favorite part of blogging - reading other people's! BTW, have you finished your photography classes?

  19. Being an art teacher of the past, students love to watch the colorful being poured. I would get students who would pour out and just watch it go, not realizing anything but it was fun to see the color being put out on the palette. They could get a cup of paint to use on a small apple or pear. They are nice results to see in the window.
