    2. Hello girls!!
Well talking of blooming clematis plants mine, also mauve, bloomed a few days ago but mine is situated outside, climbing up a tellis.
My variety is called The President but I suspect yours's is not Betsy becayse it has rounder petals. I'll have a look on the net. :)

    3. Look! Suza and Eddie look like identical twins tonight! :)

  6. No, she doesn't disappoint. Beautiful!
How long will the flowers last?

    1. That depends on the weather...pouring rain will knock them right off. It's so disappointing when that happens! Kind of like peonies...you pray for the rain to stay away a while so you can enjoy them!

  7. My guesses are the Prince Charles, Silmakivi, Rhapsody, or The President. http://www.naturehills.com/perennials/clematis Maybe Bijou or Bonanza too... although the Bijou is a little more frilly than yours I think. So many varieties!

    1. Well, Eddie's is The President, so mine should be Prince Charles, right? In some sort of weird, backward way. haha.

    2. Lady Diana would be a good name - now she was a lovely woman!! - shame Prince Charles did not think so! Don't call it Camilla will you?

      Delete
    3. Of course it could be Gloriamis Superba! lol One to keep AN eye on!

      Delete
    4. I think there is a rose named for Diana, isn't there?

      Delete
    5. Yes there is such a rose.

. . . and Elton John modified his song "Candle in The Wind" about Marilyn Monroe to Good bye English Rose and sang it at Diana's funeral.

  8. That is one gorgeous plant! We had poor success with one, but Bob is preparing a spot for a new one. I can only hope it turns out like this.

    1. Hope yours does well this year. I think they like a bit of shade and wet soil. Ours did best when we cut it to the ground and moved it one year. I thought we'd kill it, but no!

    2. Well mine is a similar mauve colour but the petals seem slighly different. My are more pointed. Mine The President - but I understand he is not very popular in certain places LOL

I've thought about growing clematis. Are they finicky plants?

    1. No..they just like a bit of shade with their sun and water. She's happy now with all of our rain. But I do water her in the hot summer.
