- Fresh brewed coffee.
- A little sunshine, in between lots of showers.
- Grey nails, because I'm a sunshiny person, you know. ha.
- I'm not sure what show they were watching, but they were intent!
- Slate preferred the box seat.
- A brunch favorite. I throw bacon, onions, potatoes and mushrooms in a hot skillet with olive oil, garlic, s & p. Served with fried eggs, toast and crunchy red grapes.
- Lemon infused water in a $1 auction pitcher.
I hope yours was a good one!
♥
All beautiful Betsy but that cat-in-window photo was the best.
ReplyDeletehaha...we just needed you outside, taking a picture from that angle! :)
DeleteSlate seems to like the inside more
ReplyDeleteNot wanting to explore
The three watching something fun
Sure do seem intent on catching whatever was spun
He was living outside at -15 when he came
Deleteso I think he's had his share of snow and rain.
He sleeps with us while the others prowl
and has claimed his own spot on the furry throw for now.
haha.
No wonder after the snow
DeleteI sure wouldn't want to go
ha. they were def all about something...and breakfast sounds delish...
ReplyDeletepair that with the coffee and mmm hmm....smiles...
most definitely! it was delish....
DeleteHe knows a good thing when he sees it!
DeleteAnd doesn't leave my side one bit! ha.
Pretty blossom. Nice rings. And your brunch sounds tasty.
ReplyDeleteIt sure was tasty. In fact, I wish there were leftovers so I wouldn't have to cook dinner tonight! :)
DeleteNice lot of coffee - no wonder you like it.
ReplyDeleteBlossom interesting - glad you could shoot between showers - hey you seem to be having our weather.
Our's is lovely at the moment.
Nice colour nails but they don't match your feet!! LOL
So that is the keyboard where all this creativity and wilt originates.
They look like a pride of cats.
Love the interesting window Betsy and Slate looks really comfortable.
I could just tuck in to some of that Brunch!! . . . . any left?
No, the nails don't match! The jury is still out on this color. When my hands are cold and look a little purplish, I look quite Goth. haha.
DeleteI wish there was brunch left, too! But no, it was gone in a flash. haha.
How was your dinner out?
Gosh if your hands were cold it must be cold - mine are really warm.
DeleteGood job I had dinner out then!
Very nice thankyou and terribly British! LOL
Roast Lamb and Yokshire Pudding with chips and peas - Yummy
My daughter INSISTED on treating us! She is lovely!
She sent me a card once for Father's day which read, "Anyone can be a father but it takes someone really special to be a Daddy!"
Next time you make some Brunch make some more and set a place at the table for lttle ole me!! . . . . otherwise I shall just have to ivite myself for a meal ay Liinda's - I don't think Gloria loves me enough at the moment!! LOL
Yes, that does sound VERY British, but delicious, too! I've only had lamb twice, I think.
DeleteAnd I know what yorkshire pudding is, but have never had it.
I think your daughter is a sweetheart! She must take after her mother. haha....ducks...
Have you ever been on a Progressive Dinner? You could do one with me, Linda and Gloria. Each course served at a different house. :)
Forgot to add the mint sauce on the lamb - lovely jubbly
DeleteWell she inherits my good and irrestible nature, my modesty, my wit, my charm, my zeal and passion for life, my energy, my humour (note spelt correctly), my adaptability and enthusiasm, my romantic tendancies, my strength, my warm and loveble nature . . . . . and she looks a bit like her Mum LOL
A progressive dinner - maybe when my culinary skills have improved. Linda already has told my Ugggh! when I mentioned bringing baked beans on toast when I gatecrash her at her cottage!! Gloria is too shy at the moment to approach, She won't give me a kiss even though when I first met her she gave me FOUR big smackers!!
I had already noted that she looked like her mom! :)
DeleteNo, you wouldn't bring anything to a progressive dinner...you would eat a course at each of our homes. We would cook and you would not. It would be safer that way! haha...oh, I better run and duck now..haha.
I cannot imagine mint on any meat. I wonder if that is an acquired taste. ha.
I've just changed into my bus uniform so you know it is me and not an anonymous person.
DeleteChanging into my ambulance uniform might take a little longer should you require proof of identity.
Can you tell I have have been drinking two pints of draught Guiness - loosen up the tongue and inspires my fingers across the keyboard LOL
You and Silver Fox are the only men I know that change outfits between comments. hahaha.....
DeleteGood gratious woman! You do ask the most complicated questions of a chap who has two left spoons!, the culinary equivalent of dancing with two ledt feet!! If you ladies are happy with that you can take it in turns to satisfy my dietry needs for my entire existence!! . . . . . that would free me to write highly popular silly emails and posts!! I have been trying to answer a very important email for ages and they will be wondering why I have not replied!! I shall have to do so at this rate when I have written a book full of post comment answers!
DeleteYour last statement! Ahhh! But I'm not as Sly as Silver Fox
Deletebtw Did you know that Gloria loves him? lol
Why you say that Eddie?
DeleteI love all my friends!
And I will kill you!
xo
Sorry Gloria - just a joke and no offence meant.
DeleteI will not joke like that again!
Notice how Eddie went undercover to say this? lol....
DeleteIs it safe to come out of hiding now!
Delete"Methinks the lady doth protest too much!"
Three kitties ... priceless! I love your nail polish color too. Happy Sunday, Betsy!
ReplyDeleteThose kitties were very entertaining with their heads moving in unison. :)
DeleteYour nails are nicely done, but I think next time you should go with a warm color instead :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's quite a change from my french tip or pink!
DeleteGood for you, trying different things!
DeleteAww love your coffe look delicious.
ReplyDeleteLove Slater :)
Love your color nails!
And love your brunch look so good!!
xo
It was just a love-ly weekend! haha.
DeleteWhat fun pictures. I like your nails...it's appropriate since you love that color in your home...you fit right in! Love the three look outs, but Slate in the window is purrfect. Brunch looks delish. and that is a beautiful pitcher. I had to laugh at our Michel who is helping us find the right complex. The one we applied for and are waiting for the approval has two thrift stores close by...Michel couldn't wait to tell me. Maybe I'll find so new things in a new store. How is your foot?
ReplyDeleteI was petting all the grey kitties and saying I matched them! ha. Oh, how fun to live near a couple of thrift stores! You'll never buy retail again! :)
DeleteMy foot is surprisingly good! I haven't tried dancing on it, but walking doesn't hurt! I haven't had a shoe on it since Friday night. Might wear flip flops just to make sure nothing is pressing on the top.
Lovely post! I have enjoyed all the photos, love your kitties, that beautiful stained glass window, pretty nail polish and delicious brunch idea which if you don't mind I might 'borrow' and serve up next time I have company. That header shot of the dogwoods is also really something. One of the many things I am eager for is to see the first dogwoods bloom. Have a great week Betsy :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes...but don't wait until company! Have it for dinner tomorrow! haha. I bake the potato in the microwave first so it only needs to brown in the skillet, too. That saves a lot of time.
DeleteOkay - that was going to be my question. Do you pre-cook the potato first. Also, do you put the bacon in raw or cook that a bit too? Looks so yummy. Love the cats watching their live movie - where are their bowls of popcorn?! Pretty jug for a $1 - what a bargain. I am not usually one for "non-traditional" nail colours - although I do often like them on others - but I love that pale grey. Very soft and dove-like. The coffee at the top is so rich looking. And on my screen it comes right beside your little, steaming cup in your sidebar. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI usually buy that precooked bacon and tear it up in there straight from the freezer. But I have used raw before and it works fine, too. I just put it in the skillet first so it crisps and cooks through. Mmmm...I need a plate of that this morning! My coffee is lonely! haha.
DeleteYour brunch favorite is something I need to try :)
ReplyDeleteI bet you'd love it!
DeleteAll the clicks are nice but I liked your nails the most..the color is looking good because it is painted on beautiful fingers..
ReplyDeleteAw, that was sweet! Thanks, Ranita!
DeleteThat is true Betsy always I think you have beautiful hands dear:)
DeleteLove the color:)
Well, thanks, Gloria! You're such a dear. :)
DeleteBetsy you have a knack to take simple things in life and turn them into first class photography.
ReplyDeleteLife is all about the simple, beautiful things, isn't it? And it's a good way to practice my photography. :)
DeleteBetsy, I didn't realize you had a matching set of noir kitties. How great you caught them in that triplet pose. Of course, my fav will always be any shot of Slate. Isn't he one smart feline! Gaining the advantage of an elevated clean viewing station. By the way, I once had extra wide windowsills installed all over my house for my indoor cat. Lynne in NC
ReplyDeleteYes! Cinder and Shadow (Jack is in the middle) are completely black and from the same litter. Velvet, their mom is noir, too. It's still hard to tell the two apart by looks. Their personalities usually tell us who they are! Shadow is very friendly and chatty. Cinder is more wary.
DeleteI have often wished we lived in an older home with thick walls and deep sills! What a great idea to have them installed! I had the window open there, and Slate immediately took the spot. He's a smart kitty!
Wonderful pics! That EASY breakfast is going to be a priority for me! Oh my Betsy does that sound good to me!
ReplyDeleteOooh....you will love it! We have some kind of variety of this often. Sometimes with ham. Sometimes I whisk eggs and pour them into the skillet, too. But I did love the fried eggs served on top. Yum...I could eat it right now!
DeleteLove the grey nail polish!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost black, right? ha.
Deleteok...maybe not.
DeleteI enjoyed all the pictures but especially the last one with the lemon in the pitcher!
ReplyDeleteJust have to ask, are you still taking photography class?
Each picture is really spectacular.
Thanks, Chris! Classes are done. I think I learned just enough to be dangerous. haha.
DeleteNow I need to practice!
I did have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteA little parade, a little Frisbee, some fireworks, and then a nice ride through the Finger Lakes.
It was a good weekend for the letter "F".
:0)
You really did have a nice weekend! Are you doing the alphabet posts? It should have been an F day! haha.
DeleteABC Wednesday is up to S this week, but I totally forgot last week and skipped the letter R.
DeleteLet's see....Sunday with favorite Spouse, Siesta in the van, Scrumptious food at Dennys,
DeleteHello, sorry, very late popping by, the coffee will be cold by now, but perhaps there might be a refill available on that pitcher of water! I love the picture of the cats under the tree, they look like a group of mischievous schoolboys all lined up watching and waiting to do something really naughty!! Hope that you had a good day today. xx
ReplyDeleteOh, don't worry...cyber coffee is alway hot and fresh! That cup at the top has been steamy for 6 years! hahaha....
DeleteGreat pictures! That one of the cats gathered under the tree is hilarious. And I love Slate in the window- that's fabulous! And I love that your manicure matches him ;)
