Hi Lana! Yes, they are fun to watch! I feel so lucky to have that tree and feeder right outside the window by my kitchen desk. I watch them a lot! Probably too much!
Well that is something the cat can't do Pat can now bend that way but not able to hold on at our zoo The bird with the potty mouth name Has that claim to fame
I need to start reading my bird book again. Apparently in Southern Ontario we have two types: the white-breasted and the red-breasted. I did not know they defied their centre of gravity! That is too funny... looks like he is having fun though. Those must be some strong claws!
We just put up a birdhouse that has a clear side and attaches to a window. So, we can see inside their house from inside our house. We're curious to see if a bird will really make it a home, and if so, what type it will be.
I have seen those and have always wondered if they work or if the birds are too scared because they can see you, too! Best of luck with that...it would be amazing to have such a close look at their nest!
Oh, that's perfect. I was just sitting here wondering if there was one with a two way mirror on the window side so they couldn't see you but you could see in. Any guesses on the type of bird? Do you have a common one in your yard?
How is this even possible? Amazing bird and yes I am ready for the weekend and the 16-19 or so guests I am cooking for Saturday evening.m

Deleteha. he's a bit of a daredevil...there is no cat down there he is taunting is there?

It was so fast, I didn't look! I would be shocked if a cat ever caught a nuthatch!

DeleteGood job they don't drink alcohol!! LOL
Oh, yeah! They run up and down the trunk, looking for bugs in the bark.

DeleteThere is a privacy cover that slides to the side so most of the time the birds won't see us. Thanks!

DeleteI'm not a bird expert like you are so I'll have to picture of the one that builds a nest and let you identify it.
