It's Snowing!

I've spent quite a bit of the day sitting and staring out the window!

  1. Hey, Keith! Look! It's wide and clear!~ no more skinny little video. And it even has sound! Lucky people get to hear me talk! haha.
It took giving myself another html lesson, but I figured it out! haha. Much better! :)

    1. We ended up getting several inches!

I was whispering so I wouldn't scare all the birds out of the trees. ha. Then they would knock all the snow off the branches! lol....

  3. Voices are good:) and the snow so pretty! I hear we should be getting some over night. And I read today that the end of January is predicted to be very cold! Better lay in a store of coffee and hot chocolate!! Ha

  4. Just beautiful Betsy!

We've been in Tahoe several times when it snowed. I just loved sitting on the couch gazing out the bay window and the quiet loveliness of the falling snow.

  6. So truly beautiful!! Lovely to see the geese flying over and to hear your voice as well. You are so beautifully and softly spoken. We haven't had a single flake of snow so far this winter, I think that it has all decided to say on your side of the pond this year! xx

    1. haha...oh, if I need to be heard above my five men, I can yell. lol....
Amazing you haven't had snow! Your temps just must be too mild! I'll keep the snow, though...I love it!

    2. Well I'm glad that you didn't yell at us!! It really has been very mild here this winter, very wet, but very mild. We do usually have some snow in varying amounts, some years we get a few flakes, some years we get about a foot and then it goes. Just depends. Everyone (well, the media!) goes into a panic when it snows here because we don't get that much. They act so surprised about snow falling in winter!! xx

    3. Oh, that's funny. Well, England is known for it's rain, isn't it? That's why everything is so lush and green!
Maybe next year will be your turn for lots of snow!

  7. Beautiful you say?
    I guess in its display
As long as it stays at your shore
Not sure the two here would like to explore
Cassie just hopped up when she heard the geese
I guess them she wants to have a piece
    No lovely day here
Damn germs in me I fear

    1. I let Cocoa be in the clip just for you
so you wouldn't only have snow and say boo hoo.
Especially since yesterday was about food
you'll start to think I have nothing good!
Sorry you're sick with a yucky bug.
If you weren't germy, I'd give you a hug.
      lol....

    2. lol far too germy for that
And nice addition with the cat

    3. Good thing cats don't catch our sicknesses
or those two would be giving you hissy fits.
      ha.

  8. Thank you Betsy. We CA folks need to see snow. It was 83 out in So Cal today! All the birds and plants are so confused. We only get to watch for smoke from the big fire. You don't sound like the voice I thought you had. I am glad I got to hear your real voice. I have never been to or through Ohio but your bit of it is so beautiful I would love to see it! taria

    1. It's always fun to see people's faces and hear their voices. Hope mine didn't disappoint. haha. I'm glad you aren't too close to the fires...the whole state seems to be in a drought! You need rain! Maybe Amy can send you some. :)

    2. we do need rain but now if we get it there will be landslides. Amy send some rain, nice gentle and steady please. no your voice didn't disappoint just different than I imagined. you and your men have a great weekend!

    3. Right...you need some light rain to soak into the ground. Just an shower a day for weeks and weeks! I hope you get it!

  9. Oh, it's lovely alright. But you may keep it over there! We are living constantly in our Wellies but I'd rather do that than find a pair of snow shoes and a shovel! I did particularly love hearing your voice. Soft and sweet, which is not surprising at all. And that must be an American Midwestern accent, is that right? Not a Southern Drawl or New England sound! Those I am familiar with!

Stay warm, milady, and enjoy the weekend!

Oh, and do you feed the crows and geese, too? It's as if they came flying when you stepped outside. (smiling)

    1. Oh, yeah, I have the typical midwestern accent...strong R's, long O's...haha. Funny how many accents there are in our country...each area has their own!

I haven't fed the geese, no...but the crows do land in the yards, looking for food!

  10. Oh, that was fun! A Winter Wonderland for sure. You have a very nice voice, soothing and peaceful.

  11. I am always amazed at how winter can turn the world to what looks like black and white.
We get the flurries tomorrow and some rather cold temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday.
I won't mind sitting inside so much when it's cold and snowy.
(You wouldn't like my Rochester accent. I don't like it either.)

  12. Is it Me you're missing? ;) ha.

During the last cold snap we got a small dusting of snow. It's always so magical to watch. Here in N. GA. snow is a rarity but when it does come down I love to watch it. Happy Weekend!

    2. No where. Hubby has finally went back to work and I've been celebrating. haha. j/k I've been catching up on all the stuff I had to let go whilst he was home. My hubby thinks I should sit and watch him watch TV. ;) If I moved he would ask, Where are you going? Paris, I'd say! Men! Hubby and I both had the flu during the holidays. My computer was sick and in the hospital forever. Now it's home, hubby is at work and my days are my own again. Glory Be!
I hope to stop by more...I've gotten caught up on all I missed.

Loved the video. So beautiful and serene.

  14. Beautiful - that will be my meditation video when I need some calming. And you captured our Canada Geese! Yay! I think they flew over then just for me and your other Canadian bloggers. So peaceful - I want more. There was a fine dusting today but it didn't last. And all the rest has turned dismally grey. Supposed to be VERY cold in a few days... like a couple weeks ago. Brrrrrrrr... Stay warm. Oh... lovely to hear your voice again... brought back such lovely memories of my visit. xox

    1. Those geese fly over every day! I'll have to try to get a clear photo of them sometime. Today they were flying through all that snow! It became very cold here last night and is only 13F right now. Brrr!

  15. It is 32F here now - practically balmy! But by Wednesday it will be -2F. Chilly! Mind you it was much colder than that a while ago so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't dip to those historic lows again. I love winter... but...

    2. I know :-( I think the problem is we've had roller coaster weather...a couple of days of cold then a warmish one that makes me wish for spring.

    3. You need to think snowmen, cozy sweaters, and hot chocolate! Don't even let your mind go to anything springy! lol....

  17. Miss Betsy, you have such a wonderful sound to your voice. I always thought you should have your own craft/decorating show on TV, and now I think you should do books on tape, especially children's books. I was totally captivated!

  18. Oh how much I enjoyed that video and seeing the geese fly over. That would be a rare sight out here where I live.

We are having record heat levels and it feels like late spring being in the 80's and just having two earthquakes with being about two miles from the epicenter meant we really felt them both pretty well. I cannot even say how many earthquakes I have been through in my life out here in SoCal but we pretty much only count the ones over a 3.0 which both of these were. Actually we are a little worried with it being the anniversary time of the Northridge Earthquake and two sizable ones within 24 hours puts us all on the edge. Then record breaking heat temperatures while the rest of the country is freezing and now the Governor wants us to cut our water usage by 20 percent. I think we have been in this drought for over ten years and we have cut our water down to where we barely use any. We have dirt in the backyard, and have stopped watering the front yard so that we pretty much have dirt there and are thinking of doing the AZ thing of gravel instead of grass. Just not sure how much more we can sacrifice. This state is sucking us dry.

Really sad though because even our mountains have no snow. Usually we can see it all around us, not so this year. We did have a few weeks of rain a few month ago but because it was flash floods it just flowed to the ocean. Please, please send us some of that snow. It truly is beautiful. Oh and I agree with the others in that your voice is so soft and sweet and I bet those cats just purr when they hear you talk. And was so beautiful to see the cat in the video. Would love to see more videos with all the cats and Nugget in them. Nothing better than "zoo" pictures.

    God bless.

    1. I had not heard about your earthquakes! And I have the news on almost constantly around here! I know you are used to them, but if we had one, we wouldn't even know what it was! ha.

Gosh, you really do need rain! Isn't it interesting that the ocean can be so close but you don't get the clouds to bring you any! People here complain about the snow, but it does melt into the ground and give us gardens and green lawns in the next season. Plus, it's just beautiful...no matter what anyone else says. ha. We still have a few flakes floating down this morning.

I do need to take more videos. We never had a video camera when the boys were growing up, so it isn't something that occurs to me, even with it built in to our regular cameras these days. I should get Nugget hopping around the house. He's so cute and not something that you see every day! :)

  23. Isn't it amazing what technology can do these days? I get to hear the voice of someone I have never met, and will likely never meet and see your lovely garden. I do like to watch the snow fall. London has been too mild so far this winter and the whole of the UK has been SO wet.
And if you feel like it you get to read my musings on potato crisps! Life has changed so much in the last 10 years or so hasn't it? I find it very exciting how much we can do online. My partner is in Switzerland. If you like you can check the webcam and see where he skies every day while I am stuck in London. But luckily technology strikes again: we talk on facetime every day. Very science fiction.
