The Season's First Snow

It was slushy and white and I enjoyed sitting at my desk this morning
in my jammies and watched the flakes float to the ground as I drank my
coffee!  It only lasted about an hour, though, and was washed away
when the snow turned to rain.

I love snow, but I'm not quite ready!
I haven't seen all the leaves turn color yet!

Thanks for all of your prayers for Alex!
He has been fine the last two afternoons.
He's had a good ride home and is
unfastening his own seat belt.
I've gotten a thumbs up from the aide both times
and haven't had to leave the front porch!  Yay! :)

  3. Oh those are wonderful shots. I'm going to fly up to Oregon early November to see Tristan and love on him. Maybe Jill will have a dusting of snow I can enjoy.

    1. I'll bet there is a good chance Oregon will have snow in November. Hope it's cold enough so you can enjoy some!

  4. Beautiful, Betsy. The dusting on the top of that gazebo and the action of the falling snow flakes maks for a lovely scene. Did you know that English architects gave the gazebo it's name? A bit of British trivia for you. Cheer, lovely lady.

    2. They say the word comes from a mix of the Latin suffix meaning "I shall" which is "bo"and the English word "gaze" thus you end up with Gazebo: I shall gaze. But I don't think anyone really knows the truth of it. Great idea though, to have a fancy shed just for sitting and thinking and looking.
Thank goodness we don't have snow yet. It's a sunny 55 degrees today (13 degrees in English money).

    1. We've been below freezing the last few mornings, so all we needed was the precipitation! And yes, it's supposed to be a long winter! I wonder if that means it will start early, too, like spring did? hmmm....

yes, Yay for Alex! I'm so pleased!

    1. Oh my goodness! But you are north of me...I would almost expect it there. Sounds like you have more than we do....it was just a dusting and gone immediately.

  12. Your "mom look" must be pretty good!

  13. That is so pretty. The leaves with the dusting of snow is perfect. I love to watch it snow. It's so peaceful.
I love snow, too. Here in the south tis a rarity. Well except for the blizzard of 93'. ha! I prayed, Lord, give us all we can handle. haha. God has a lovely sense of humor. 26" of snow in the south is like a hurricane in the middle of Wyoming. And, I forgot to say, Lord leave the power on. My bad. I sometimes forget you must be pacific when you pray. I don't know how I missed that, may have been the excitement of actually getting snow. ;)

So glad that Alex is doing better. Bless him.

    1. 26" is a lot...especially there where you don't have snow plows and road salt! Yeah, it's a lot more fun if you can keep the power on! haha....our family does not do well without power...especially the boys. Oh my.

No Canadian buried in snow jokes....please!!
There are a few American States further north than a lot of Ontario....
      Nope...not a flake here...no sleet...and no frost yet...
Beautiful sunrise this am...Miss V here at 7:15...down with another cold and fever...:o(
How did the apple pie bread turn out? Did you at least wait for it to cool? hahaha!

      Enjoy your day...♥

  16. Hey!! That is great news for Alex, glad that he is doing better again. That has to be a good thing. Also, loving your moon shot on your header Betsy. I do love your moons. (oops, just read this back and realised what I had written, but YOU know what I mean!!)

Now, about this snow business, it is not big or clever to make it snow in OCTOBER!! (yes, I'm shouting...) We haven't had nearly enough autumny shots of leaves and pumpkins and all those lovely things yet. Snow snow go away, don't come back until December please.

Oh, and don't feel you have to share the snow by sending it my way Betsy!
