  1. I am wondering if it could be late enough into October to carve jack-o-lanterns or would they be mush by the time Halloween came around?

    1. Not that I pay any attention to Halloween anyway.

    2. I just saw in pinterest that if you immerse your carved pumpkin in a sink of water/bleach before setting outside, it will last a lot longer.

    3. I will give that careful consideration (and find some old clothes).
I'll have two little girls here tomorrow.

    1. Just put flea control on the whole bunch.
If you think that was expensive, you have a hunch.
      lol.
      Not this kitty, though,
the fleas might stub a toe.
      hahaha.

  9. How did you know that I was cruising the bog world??? I was reading your fried green tomato post and looked at the neely's recipe. They made it more difficult than necessary... Ha! I had them for dinner tonight. Give this easy way a try: slice, salt, let sit for an hour or so to remove moisture; pat dry, dip in buttermilk then meal and seasonings , fry... Enjoy!

    1. Well, I didn't know....but I do think of you time to time. :)

That's how I usually make them...but deep frying looked fun..and they said the breading wouldn't fall off like it can when you pan fry.

  14. She's ok. She has just been petrified. A little mandrake potion and she'll be right as rain. I think she'll love the little witches hat wench she wakes on All Hallows Eve. May end up demanding a matching purse. ;)
Or could be I've been watching a little too much of Harry Potter #2. haha.

    3. She really does look like that! When she was out on the tables at the auction I had to check her out. She's really old....looks a bit like stone but really light when you pick her up. Her paint is all worn. I wonder if she lived outside for a time. :)

  17. I am not crazy about witches but your little kittie is adorable.
We've ordered Gavin a shark costume and got Elizabeth pink cowboy boots and a hat that they both requested. But husbands knee surgery and recovery will pretty much be what we are doing for Halloween.
