A friend of ours brought us peaches from her tree yesterday!
I peeled and sliced 16 cups and put them in the freezer.
I'm thinking about taking a peach crisp to the auction this week
to share with my coworkers. Yum! I wonder if that may
cause a riot with the bidders. Do you think they'd be
upset I didn't bring enough to feed all 200+ of them? ha.
♥
PEACHES! we picked peaches at the orchard a week ago...and nectarines...the boys really liked nectarines after i coerced them into trying them...smiles...
ReplyDeleteMmmm...I don't remember the last time I had a nectarine! yum!
Deletelove nectarines too are my favorites, I have wait to my summer!
DeletePeach crisp, peach pie, peach tart, peaches & roast pork; you'll have a great deal of use for those lovely peaches.
ReplyDeletewith pork roast...oh, yum! What a great idea!~
DeleteMy money is on the barbie buying guy
ReplyDeleteTo raise his fist to the sky
And cause a riot
How dare you! he'll cry it
haha..oh, he's a very nice man.
DeleteI'd probably give him some at the auction land.
lol....
To keep him happy
DeleteWouldn't want him to turn into a Flappy
Oh, that would be bad.
Deleteand make me very sad.
Would have to send him to you
with the barbies from his zoo.
lol...
They look very delicious...Nice friend!!
ReplyDeleteLove your bowl...my mom had one like that...guess my sister "got" that! ha!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
That's bowl's been up on my top kitchen shelf and I took it down and ran it through the dishwasher to get the dust off. Then when it came out all clean, I thought I'd leave it down and use it. It's so pretty...just makes working in the kitchen a little happier. :)
DeleteTell your sister that's just not fair! ha.
You better hide it if you take some dessert to the auction. Those bidders will have money to spend and they may go crazy with your delicious baking.
ReplyDeleteAren't fresh peaches the best?
haha...
Deleteyes, they are the best! I nibbled while I sliced and they smelled so good. Really juicy, too! I used to have a peach tree but it died years ago. I miss it!
They're just starting to be ready around here. Love them!
ReplyDeleteI used to can them...the white ones. yum!
Deletejust beautiful! I love fresh peachs Betsy!
ReplyDeletethey were so juicy!
DeleteAh...you are almost to spring now, right? Is it really cold there?
Today is really cold:)
DeleteLucky you!
ReplyDeleteI was so appreciative...what a nice surprise!
DeleteI am thinking about peaches too. I must find some because they are my very favorite fruit... almost. Well, right up there with watermelon. :)
ReplyDeleteI have plans to make jam, maybe raspberry peach jam... or maybe blackberry jam, because that is what I will be finding in my backyard in a week or so.
they are one of my favorites, too...right up there with pears and berries. :) Besides pecan, peach is my favorite pie. Raspberry peach jam...that sounds wonderful!
DeleteDelicious ~ I really miss the peaches up North. Peach orchards were all around us. Nothing like afresh peach right off the tree! You may have a riot on your hands with that Peach Crip HaHa
ReplyDeleteyou're right...I might have to think through that idea again. lol....
DeleteDoesn't it? Peaches are one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can do a trade the Cobbler for something really expensive?
ReplyDeleteBetter make two!
yeah...now that's a great idea! :) Maybe a can of whipped cream, too.....
DeleteYum!
ReplyDeleteMmm...I agree! The only thing better would be if someone made the peach crisp for me and served me a dish of it with icecream on the side. ha....oh, and then did the dishes afterward. lol...
DeleteYum...peaches! Peach crisp sounds wonderful : ) and peach pie has always been my favorite.
ReplyDeleteoh, me too! love peach pie. Funny thing is, I don't make it often at all! I usually make pecan! ...my all time favorite. ha.
DeleteYou don't know how good those yummy peaches look here in the midst of a bitterly cold & miserable Aussie winter! I have an identical mixing bowl Betsy, it came from my Mum's & every time I use it she's right back with me.
ReplyDeleteMillie xx
Well, I wish I could make you a peach crisp and have you eat it with our warm summer weather!
DeleteI have been trying in vain to comment here for a couple of weeks, for some reason blogger is being selfish! LOVE the wedding pictures and the other bits and pieces that I see now and then. Today, I am loving peaches. I am going tomorrow to get a box of them and will probably just sit and eat a few before I remember that I have other things to do! So I'm still around even if you don't hear from me. have a good week!
ReplyDeletewell, that is very strange! Blogger is a mystery sometimes! I'm glad you got through today! Enjoy those peaches! One must eat a few fresh like that every summer...juice dripping down your chin, too! ha.
DeleteOh, I love peaches, too! And there could very possibly be a riot there! :)
ReplyDeleteI know! Maybe I shouldn't do it!? ha.
DeleteMight I suggest a peach, blueberry and blackberry crisp...I wish I made fresh peaches to make one...my in-laws tree didn't produce this year :(
ReplyDelete*had fresh peaches
DeleteWhat a great fruit crisp combination...all of my favorites! It would look beautiful, too, wouldn't it?
DeleteA Peach Crisp sounds wonderful!! =)
ReplyDeleteLove the Wedding photos, they are so lovely!

DeleteHi Betsy .. how lovely to have fresh peaches given to you .. so so delicious, I miss my tree from South Africa days .. enjoy the Peach Crisp at the auction .. lucky co-oorkers ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI know,..that was very nice, wasn't it?
DeleteAh, stone fruit - I love when the season starts here - but it about 1/2 a year away!!
ReplyDeleteNice.
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Yes, I think I'm torturing all of my Aussie friends! haha....well, you can pay me back when we've traded seasons! :)
DeleteI think you'd better hide that peach crumb in the back at the auction! There might be rioting!! LOL! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteIt better go under a towel behind the cashier's table, don't you think? :)
DeleteThat was really nice of your friend!
ReplyDeleteI love peaches myself Betsy so this is a beautiful gift in my eyes, really hope that whatever you do with them you guys enjoy them! I'd be upset if I was in the 200+ who missed out but you can only do enough to feed a certain amount so I'd say go for it!
ReplyDeleteIt was a very nice gift!
DeleteWell, yum! How I love fresh peaches. Peach crisp? Even better!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking peach ice cream. Yum! Haven't got a photo yet as still learning to blog.
ReplyDeleteOooh...peach ice cream would be really yummy! :)
DeleteYummy!!! I'm hoping to can some peaches in a couple weeks. Last year I didn't get any because of the late frost in the spring the crop was small, and the price was HIGH. We sure have missed having them! Peach crisp sounds divine.
ReplyDeleteCanned peaches will look so pretty lined up besides your beans! :)
