Fifteen Ways The Mister And I Are Different

The Pioneer Woman posted today about 15 ways
she and her Marlboro Man are different.
And she asked if others could make a list
so I thought I'd try it.

  1. I like autumn and winter.  He likes summer and um,... summer.
  2. I squeeze the toothpaste from the bottom.  He squeezes from the middle.
  3. I enjoy sleeping late on the weekends.  He can't sleep once the sun is up.
  4. I love spicy food...the hotter the better.  He thinks mild salsa is too hot.
  5. I want to turn on the air conditioning as soon as it's over 78 degrees in the house.  He doesn't even notice if it's 90 degrees in the house.
  6. I am romantic.  He is not.
  7. I look young for my age.  He looks older than he really is.
  8. He wakes up hungry.  I don't eat until noon.
  9. I like wild flowers and over-filled flower boxes.  He likes small, symmetrically placed landscaping.
  10. I am optimistic.  He is pessimistic.
  11. I drink a pot of coffee each morning.  He gets the jitters from too much decaf tea.
  12. I like real mayo.  He likes Miracle Whip
  13. I like chocolate.  He craves chocolate daily like a crazed PMS-suffering middle aged woman. lol.  And no, I didn't get this one backwards! ha.
  14. I watch Nascar on Sundays.  He naps through Nascar on Sundays.
  15. I can't sleep unless I've just taken a shower.  He can start snoring as soon as his head hits the pillow, no matter what.
  16. One of our boys can walk through the room and I know exactly what they want or what is wrong.  He doesn't realize anyone walked through the room.
  17. I obsess about being on time.  He's always late.
  18. I like to blog.  He likes to read.
  19. I have a memory like a steel trap.  He has selective memory. ha.
  20. I need a calculator if math involves anything bigger than single digits.  His aced calculus in high school.

Oops..that's more than 15! haha

Got carried away!

Geesh...how have we ever stayed together so long?

Good thing he never reads my blog. ha.

Pedi party is in 5 days!!!

Summer...oh, I know! But being the optimist that I am, I will concentrate on the parts I do like about it. ha.

It would be very boring! And I'd have to share my coffee! lol.... I think we were more alike when we were younger, though.

    2. You know, any time we have an arguement, I always say, "It would be so much easier if you were more like me!" haha. :)

  7. I think it's good to keep our separate interests. It seems to have worked for you too : )
And I agree that Miracle Whip is no substitute for mayo. It seems to be so unnatural.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I've never read the ingredients but I'm sure it's unnatural. It has to be. lol....

  8. Enjoyed the list! My hubby is a romantic, and I'm more or less not......:)
I think if you can appreciate each others differences it makes marriage interesting, and also makes for some arguments, but without a few of those life would be boring. :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. there are a few differences that I appreciate more than others. haha.

Yes, without arguments, it would be boring....but peaceful. lol....We don't argue often, but when we do, it's not pretty. ha.

I must stock chocolate piece by piece
or he'll result to chocolate chips
or hot fudge on his ice cream dip!
      haha.
I hope you've donned your curly toes
with something fun for the party show!
      hahahahaha.
      I'm rhyming quite well tonight.
That should give you a fright.

Or I may have to pout!

  10. Very interesting! I think that some differences are complementary, some are annoying. You hope that there are more of the former, and learn to live with the latter. But people are a package deal, you can't pick and choose the attributes, so hopefully you keep the whole in mind. Anyway, very fun list!

    12. I prefer real mayo
    13. chocolate reminds me of beavers
    That's it. :)

  13. Hi Betsy - opposites attract don't they .. wonderful read through .. I think I'm on your side! Happy differences .. life is bliss - cheers Hilary

  14. Hi Betsy, your list is quite amusing and shows the degree of tolerance you both must have worked out over the years. I believe, a marriage works if you share some fundamental views of love and life and have a benevolent view on all the other bits and pieces. And I must admit that I might find it difficult, if my husband was too similar to me. I somehow rejoice in rather being unique. Kind of vanity, I know ...
    Have a nice day

  15. This is awesome Betsy haha, sometimes it's good to be a little different when you think about it instead of being the same with everything. One thing that I find funny is that you like Nascar and he doesn't, usually it's the other way around. Seen your comment in reply to Pat by the way haha, thanks so much, really made me laugh. Have to love Pat and the cat! :')

  21. The only thing hubby and I have in common...We love each other.

I love your list! Read Ree's, too. I noticed you didn't do the sleeping in the birthday suit part. hahaha.
Don't do that here. If the house caught fire my neighbors would see that i'm starting to resemble a shar-pei puppy these days. :D

    2. The only times I've had miracle whip is when someone served it assuming we'd all like it. No. Definitely no. Far too sweet, for one...and that's coming from me--a sweet tooth, no less.

  23. Love it and I'm stealing your idea, but I will link to you of course.

  25. Hi Betsy, I've visiting from Mari's at My Little Corner of the World. Her list was fun to read, and so was yours and The Pioneer Woman's. It lets me know that I am not alone in this thing call marriage! LOL

bTW, exciting times for your Brocks with the wedding so soon. Good luck to all there.
