haha...no, it's all good...I love the girl he chose, they are going to live close, and the mother of the groom really doesn't do much. We intend to relax and enjoy! ;)
Oh, just the normal groom's parents duties. :) We're hosting the rehearsal dinner and looking our best. And of course, the most important...offering lots of love and support. (and advise...but only when asked! ha.)
It's going to be at a lovely setting about 30 minutes from her home in Lancaster, PA. A renovated historical building that is now a hotel and restaurant/banquet center that is very popular for weddings. We'll get to stay right there, too, which is great...once we arrive we don't have to travel anywhere. All the details are gorgeous. You know I'll take a zillion pictures. ha.
This is such awesome news Betsy, really can't wait to hear all about this! We're having a wedding to attend over here in mid July as well so I'm aware now of the insane amount of preparation that goes into days like this, so exciting! Now I think about it the wedding might be on the same date, though I have the 19th in my head for some reason.
Found you on the map! If we didn't stop at Lancaster and kept going southeast, we'd run right into you! ha. Wish I had an extra day to come for a visit!
SOOO excited for all of you...and for you to get a girl in the family!!! She's already so loved...and I have no doubt, she knows it...not only by Taylor, but by his family also. I am SO thankful you shared the date...I have wondered and wondered when it was.
I do hope, we will get to see the dresses: the bride´s and yours! I love weddings. We have been to one on a beautiful, old vineyard estate near the river Rhine two weeks ago. The weather was warm and sunny on the spot. Church and banquet hall richly decorated with hydrangeas and roses in every shade of pink and violet. And I had chosen by chance dress, cardigan and shoes in mauve, too. I think, I danced about 5 hours nonstop. Such precious memories for everybody! My husband shot about 3000 pictures and is making a book out of them(not all of course) for the couple at the moment... I am sure it will be a most wonderful day for all of you! Take care Christel
Hi Betsy - it will be so lovely ... sad to lose your son, but wonderful to gain such a lovely daughter-in-law .. it'll be wonderful and you'll have a ball ... looking forward to seeing the photos etc .. happy preparations ... and I hope that apartment went through .... cheers Hilary

Oh, thanks, Pat. Now I can't get Manfred Mann's "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" out of my mind.
DeleteYou should be asking her that question. ha
DeleteBut she has a brother, so there was no hesitation.
That song would be perfect for a wooden spoon mic!
Might have to do that after the chitty chitty bang bang hike.

Yeah, flying in your car while singing into a wooden spoon would be kinda dangerous!
