Four Guys Graduation Open House

A few weeks ago I sent out this invitation!
How fun that all of our boys are graduating from college
and high school all within the same month!
We decided to have one big party!
Taylor's graduation ceremony was last Saturday
and the boys' is in a couple of weeks.

We used a room in our church, which was really nice for space,
parking, a huge kitchen, tables and chairs, and it easily
accommodates 100 people.

We had a morning open house and served a light brunch.  A variety of
coffee cakes and a yogurt parfait bar with homemade granola and
fresh berries.  Coffee and punch, too!  I loved the menu...all
easy to make ahead without anything that had to be kept warm
or made at the last minute.

But when the guests started to arrive, I laid down my camera and
didn't think of it until 2 hours breezed by!  I was busy soaking up
hugs, kisses, encouragement and love from so many friends!
We were overwhelmed with their generosity to all four of our
boys and they came home with thoughtful gifts and a few thousand
dollars in cash.  Unbelievable!  We are so appreciative!

There were more cards to open at home, and Spencer gladly took
on that task!  He thoroughly enjoyed opening each one.
The cash didn't excite him as much as the amazon gift cards.
haha.  He has spent those before and is giddy with excitement
at the thought of having more opportunities!  lol.

Speaking of Spencer, he really stole the show!
All the boys did great and were happy and well behaved.
But Spencer really got into greeting the guests, even meeting
them outside the room and taking their gift or card!  haha.
He smiled, said thank you (more like Jo-doo!) and brought
it into the room to open.  Then he made neat piles...the
torn envelopes in one and the cards in another. :)

I tried to keep the decorating simple, classy and masculine.
Red, tan and black colors with bamboo and burlap.
I used my red chalkboard from home...wrote on it with
a bistro marker and tacked some of my favorite
sepia photos of the guys around the cork frame.

So, we have one more exciting event happening this month
and that is the triplet's actual graduation ceremony!
Can't wait to see them in their caps and gowns. ha.
And I promise not to lay my camera down and forget
to take more photos! ha.

With it being Mother's Day weekend, I can't think of a
better way than to spend it celebrating my boys.
And how fun that we got to do it all together!
There won't be another celebration of them like that
with graduations done and Taylor getting married.

I hear I'm getting 'the best gifts ever' on Sunday,
but really, I think today was the greatest gift.
If you were at our open house today, thank you
so much!  Everyone is busy and many stopped in
on their way to another event.  I appreciate you
taking time to show us some love.
My heart is full!

    1. Well, look at you, my twin!
being first and making all other loose their grin.
      ha.
Yes, they are seniors! They are, however, allowed to continue attending the high school special ed class until they are 22 years old. We've signed them up for next year but are exploring other opportunities...

I think Taylor and Spencer look very much alike. You did a wonderful job with the party and what a crowd! Be proud of yourself, too!

  16. A bistro marker, never heard of it till now, I think I need one though.

Beautiful party and handsome boys, congratulations.

    1. haha...I think you need one, too! It's what they use in Pinterest on all that cool chalkboard art and signs. It's like writing with a paint marker...really easy to use. If you get one, lay the chalkboard down to write on it. With it hanging on the wall, the marker can't flow like it should. Learned that the hard way. haha.
