K Is For Kitty

I couldn't do K for the A to Z Challenge without thinking of kitties!
And recently Anita commented that she'd like to see a collage of all the cats from the zoo.
So, here they are!  All of these cats have been in our neighborhood and found
there way to our back porch.
Three litters from two moms, with the addition of Jack and Cocoa on separate occasions.
We've fed and cared for them and then had them fixed
so hopefully the stray cat population will get under control!  Two cats are no longer with us, Mustache and Tipper.
They just disappeared and never returned.
But the door is always open!

We don't see all of these cats daily, but have a group here most
of the time.  They come and go, but I think they think of us as the home base.
Many preferred to sleep here during the winter
and some like to just eat and be on the run again.

And just think, if I hadn't had them fixed and the girls each had a litter of
four in the last two years, there would be 48 more cats!
Oh, I'm so glad that isn't the case!  haha.

  1. They are a handsome and beautiful crew, Betsy, and look well taken care of! It was so good that you had them fixed. There are sadly too many unwanted kitties in the world.

All of this gets further me from the life of every day and from the ugly moment in which Italy is living, them... my dogs and my cats are my happiness. Hi talk to you soon and compliments for yours .... from her To the Z. Daniel from Italy

  11. Great collage indeed
    Here at your feed
    Seeing them all as one
Even though off two went for a run
    Never to return
Maybe they wanted to be an only cat and didn't like kitties at every turn
    Some are like that
And wow another 48 to your mat
Hoarders would be calling you then
To come into your den hahaha

    1. I'm afraid a sad demise
      came upon the two besides.
      Tipper was due any day
with another litter at our bay
      and Mustache was being terrorized
by a mean tom with hate in his eyes.
      Hope they are all okay
But might have gone to heaven anyway. ha.
Yep, any more and Hoarders will be
out to film my zoo and make a episode so funny!

    Go to Betsy’s – she’s VERY good.

Fur and tails and eyes that spy
From atop a ledge or perch on high
Playing ’til they verge on sleep
    All collapsing in a heap!

You have a beautiful fur family!

  18. Gosh, it does look a bit like a Cats' Home when you see them all together. They know where they are loved (and fed!), clearly. Only one gingernut, but the greys are pretty too.

    1. Isn't that interesting that there was only one orange cat? His mom, Tipper, has bits of orange, but was mostly brown. I rather think he likes standing out in the crown with his lovely ginger coat! :)

  20. you have quite a menagerie, do they all come in and out and have you had much trouble with them not finding a litter box, when we were in the house I was the neighbor hood stray collector and I found a few of them just never got the hang of where to go potty!

    1. there are a few...the youngest litter that likes to play outside but wants to be in a night. And we have a few that come in to eat but go right back out. Several I still have never touched. They are just not domesticated enough to like that yet. Crazy..but I don't push it. We have one, Marmalade, that refuses the litter box...and I've trained him to come and get me if he wants outside and that is working pretty well. He'll find me and meow and then follow me to the door!
