I couldn't do K for the A to Z Challenge without thinking of kitties!
And recently Anita commented that she'd like to see a collage of all the cats from the zoo.
So, here they are! All of these cats have been in our neighborhood and found
there way to our back porch.
Three litters from two moms, with the addition of Jack and Cocoa on separate occasions.
We've fed and cared for them and then had them fixed
so hopefully the stray cat population will get under control! Two cats are no longer with us, Mustache and Tipper.
They just disappeared and never returned.
But the door is always open!
We don't see all of these cats daily, but have a group here most
of the time. They come and go, but I think they think of us as the home base.
Many preferred to sleep here during the winter
and some like to just eat and be on the run again.
And just think, if I hadn't had them fixed and the girls each had a litter of
four in the last two years, there would be 48 more cats!
Oh, I'm so glad that isn't the case! haha.

They are a handsome and beautiful crew, Betsy, and look well taken care of! It was so good that you had them fixed. There are sadly too many unwanted kitties in the world.
ReplyDeleteThere sure are! Fortunately all of these are sweet cats with delightful personalities. And they all get along!
DeleteNice to see the collage. Helps me to remember all of them.
ReplyDeleteYou need to start one of the dogs you sit! ;)
DeleteYour kitty family is so delightful. What a darling family album. They are so so fortunate to have you as the Kitty Savior and Lover.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we are near the end. haha. I thought we were all done when little Cocoa showed up last month. Now I keep wondering if the rest of that litter and the mom will get here! lol...

DeleteHi Betsy, sees with pleasure that your love for the animals it is deep indeed, but also me here in Italy I belong to an association of privacies and with them we have created on a ground of a hectare, granted by the commune, a shelter for cats and dogs, has adapted an abandoned shed, with veterinary clinic and operating room, we now have 46 dogs and 61 cats, but it is not a kennel or an alone gattile a shelter, and we are 20 volunteers, every day some of us have lunch and they dine with the company of some of them, that free.... they come to also pick at times up caresses and little darlings two macaronis from the table.... ahahahah, adores them, all, I have a favorite cat, that has given birth to 6 small, its name it is Birba... and he/she always wants me next to her while he/she is nursing its children, 3 males and 3 females. CIAO DANIEL....and Thank Betsy for all.
ReplyDeletewell, that sounds like a very reward thing you are doing! Good for you!
DeleteYou Betsy, is right I live better with them and I am well when they are close to them. All of this gets further me from the life of every day and from the ugly moment in which Italy is living, them... my dogs and my cats are my happiness. Hi talk to you soon and compliments for yours .... from her To the Z. Daniel from Italy
DeleteThat is just great! I know what you mean about getting not only satisfaction, but feeling love back from these animals. This has been a great experience for me and I suspect for you as well! I'm so glad you stopped by!

DeleteI love your kitty collage, Betsy! I've been enjoying all of your A to Z challenge photos, but being a cat lover I just had to comment today...lol. And the milk crate you snagged at the auction this week was very cool!
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks, Dawn. I appreciate you commenting! K was an easy one! haha.
DeleteBeautiful Kitty collage! Excellent idea.
ReplyDeleteA month of Blog...
thank you! I'm glad you stopped by again!
DeleteGreat collage indeed
ReplyDeleteHere at your feed
Seeing them all as one
Even though off two went for a run
Never to return
Maybe they wanted to be an only cat and didn't like kitties at every turn
Some are like that
And wow another 48 to your mat
Hoarders would be calling you then
To come into your den hahaha
I'm afraid a sad demise
Deletecame upon the two besides.
Tipper was due any day
with another litter at our bay
and Mustache was being terrorized
by a mean tom with hate in his eyes.
Hope they are all okay
But might have gone to heaven anyway. ha.
Yep, any more and Hoarders will be
out to film my zoo and make a episode so funny!
Oh, my! I usually look at your posts in a reader, but when I saw cat pictures I HAD to come to the real thing!
ReplyDeletehaha...it is a little amazing, isn't it? lol...
DeleteI think Domino is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of our dear Kramer...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
He is a beautiful cat...I love his markings and the color of his eyes with that pink nose! He's very shy but so sweet!
DeleteHow could the letter K be anything else!!! What a wonderful kitty collection. Much admiration here for your efforts to trap, neuter, and care for this beautiful feline herd.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janice! The who neighborhood benefits, that is for sure. If there are going to be cats running around, at least they are healthy and have had their shots!
DeleteKitties, kitties everywhere
ReplyDeleteAll enjoying loving care
Word is out in the feline-hood
Go to Betsy’s – she’s VERY good.
Fur and tails and eyes that spy
From atop a ledge or perch on high
Playing ’til they verge on sleep
All collapsing in a heap!
You have a beautiful fur family!
Suza xx
haha...you always come up with such clever poems! :)
DeleteThat collage is incredible Betsy, so much cuteness here, between this and Pat's post I've had an overdose of cute today haha, I love cats!
ReplyDeleteOh..haven't seen Pat's yet today...he's posting 'cute', you say?
DeleteWhen I see all those kitty faces, I see how BIG your heart is. Then to know you took the time, $$$, and love to have them fixed. Love, love, love is all over the post.
ReplyDeleteOH, I do love them. But the best part is that they love me! You should see the affection they smother me with! ha. love it...
DeleteI love this, Betsy...purrrrrrfect!
ReplyDeletehaha...glad you enjoyed!
DeleteGosh, it does look a bit like a Cats' Home when you see them all together. They know where they are loved (and fed!), clearly. Only one gingernut, but the greys are pretty too.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that interesting that there was only one orange cat? His mom, Tipper, has bits of orange, but was mostly brown. I rather think he likes standing out in the crown with his lovely ginger coat! :)
DeleteI love your kitties Betsy!! is a lovely Zoo:)
ReplyDeleteand they are so sweet, too! So fun!
Deleteyou have quite a menagerie, do they all come in and out and have you had much trouble with them not finding a litter box, when we were in the house I was the neighbor hood stray collector and I found a few of them just never got the hang of where to go potty!
ReplyDeletethere are a few...the youngest litter that likes to play outside but wants to be in a night. And we have a few that come in to eat but go right back out. Several I still have never touched. They are just not domesticated enough to like that yet. Crazy..but I don't push it. We have one, Marmalade, that refuses the litter box...and I've trained him to come and get me if he wants outside and that is working pretty well. He'll find me and meow and then follow me to the door!
Deleteooops, I also meant to say I think its wonderful what you do for the feline population, you have a big heart and they are truly lovely, it must be fun naming them all
ReplyDeletethanks, laurie...I know you have a big heart for the critters, too! :)
DeleteYou certainly do have a lot of Kitties!! Amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of kitties! It's so nice that they find their home with you. :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun with a-z.
I am playing CATCH UP this a.m.! Oh, I did NOT know you had a Cinder! Oh how I miss our Cinder Cat! Each one has such personality! LOVE the kitties!
