Monday Miscellaneous

A little bit of what happened at the zoo today...

1.  Watched The Mister on live TV on the news at noon.
He's part of Rotary International and they were plugging a
community event.

2.  Made up an Easter centerpiece for the dining room table.
Pretty, huh...that's a succulent named Kalanchoe.
It jumped into my shopping cart so I brought it home. :)

3.  Managed the men and pets on a snow day.  I hear
10 inches total fell in our area.  Not sure we have that much, though.

4.  Made a Garbage Omelette, which basically is everything
you want to throw in, you do!  So there was a potato browned
in onion and garlic, ham, mushrooms, cheese and cilantro.  yum.
And I guess they are really scrambled eggs, but I call
it an omelette.

5.  Filled the feeders.  Look at that snow cap!

We also need to announce the winner of the spring giveaway!!

Here's how the winner was chosen...

I'm so happy for you, Laurie!
Can't wait to send these sweet singing birds up to
Canada for your nest in the sky!
Email me your address, won't you?
My email is elizabethbrockatattdotnet.

  2. Congrats to Laurie! :)

It snowed all day here as well, still is in fact, but a very lazy relaxing snow that just drifts down and looks pretty. No school delay drama for either of our schools.

Sounds like you had a successful day. #4 looks good enough to eat!

  4. Congratulations to Laurie on the big win, well done! I love these photos too, it's a good thing that you love snow because it seems like you guys have got a lot of it! The omelette looks delicious as well, there's something about the idea of just using everything that's left in one big omelette that I absolutely love and now want to try.

    1. I should peak at my cactus. I tend to neglect it since it doesn't like too much water. It might be blooming, too! Another blogger mentioned hers was blooming for Easter! haha. The triplets look like their dad, that is very true...except they have my brown eyes. Taylor looks nothing like his dad. haha.

  14. Congrats, Laurie - as a fellow Canadian, I am glad they flew up here! Mmmmmm, Betsy, that omelette is speaking to me - yum! And your pics, as always, are wonderful. I love how high the "icing" is on the bird feeder. Wish we had more snow. We have only had a couple storms this year and none of it really lasted for very long. Maybe Ohio is the place to be! Your Easter centrepiece is so fresh and pretty - you need to pin it to Pinterest.

  22. Betsy, that kalanchoe is poison to kitties. My daughter had one and our kitty chewed a bit and got pretty sick. We realized she was ill and got her to the vet and she got meds that made her well. Not sure how inside your kitties are but worth being careful of. what a handsome dh you have! Taria
