It's cold outside here in Ohio!
Just 15F degrees this morning and
we're supposed to get 5-10 inches of snow this weekend!
But I love snow!
I don't have spring fever, but I know YOU do! ha ha.
So, how about a little giveaway?
A sweet vintage porcelain Otagiri music box, complete with
gold finches and blooms...and it plays, "I'd Like To Teach The
World To Sing" as it turns. Maybe if you win it and play it every
day, Mother Nature will get the hint and send
warm spring weather. :)
To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment.
Yep, that's all. No following, linking, tweeting
or pinning. ha ha. Just comment!
I'll leave this post up over the weekend and announce
a winner Monday evening.
I work an auction tomorrow
and have a gift basket order to put together
($75 worth of chocolate and nuts... yum!) ha ha.
So, while I'm busy doing that, I won't worry
about posting and it will give everyone time to
enter. And guys, this would look cute in an
Easter basket for some lady in your life.
Or if you're going home to eat Easter dinner at
moms, this would make a cute hostess gift!
And yeah, I'll get it mailed to you in time. :)
Yes, I'll mail anywhere in the world.
Easter guarantee only good for the USA, though.
Enjoy the weekend!
Stay warm!
Giveaway chances will close at 6:00PM EST
Monday, March 25th
♥
First with the burst
ReplyDeleteSo I win as all are worst?
Is is cheating if I comment more than one time?
DeleteAt least I can rhyme
And geez you got auctions up the ying yang lately
But I guess they make you dough to feed each kitty haha
haha you can comment as many times as you like
Deletebut only one will be entered and the others I strike.
Yep, auctions twice a week!
but the paychecks I will keep.
If you win, you must give this to nanny
in replace of the kitty crown that comes in so handy.
lol.
haha yeah you stole the crown away
DeleteNeeds a replacement at her bay
She'll have to have a total of 16
Deleteto take that crown away from me!
lol...
oh dear...how did this happen to me? lol....
hahaha one by one
DeleteThey found you under your sun
And thanks for all the comments today
Keeping your streak alive of never missing a post at my bay
It was very fun!
DeleteEven gave Hank and Yeamie a run.
But tomorrow will be back to the normal routine
and I'll be asleep as they try to hit the comment scene.
haha.
Being a mere man, I dont usually like ornaments, but that one really caught my eye. I've always been a sucker for music boxes and I have quite a collection, but I've never seen one like that before. Dinky Cat is fascinated by them. I wind them up just to keep him out of mischief, he just sits and listens to them while I get on with the chores!
ReplyDeletes
I've changed my email address so I can use gmail, but the other addresses still work.
well, best of luck! I'd love it if you and Dinky won! :)
DeleteSorry, I forgot that Dinky is a SHE! (and don't I know it!)
DeleteI promise not to tell her. :)
DeleteIf I thought that sweet little piece would bring spring and make the snow melt I would search all over for one! We are still buried in the stuff but quite honestly it doesn't bother me, I dislike the hot weather, I love the snow so Im oK with it, I'm just getting tired of hearing the weather man talk of wind chill factors,
ReplyDeleteI'd much rather be cold than hot, so I totally agree with you!
DeleteAnd, I'm all about the heat!! LOL! I'm burning with Spring Fever and Old Man Winter is going to pay us another visit this week!! ;) Love that photo of Jack on the hunt. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeletewe must all be getting snow again! haha.
DeleteWe had snow today, here in the Pacific Northwest.
DeleteIt was the first time this whole season.
You must be in a sharing mood, the give away and then the snow. Thanks for sharing!
haha...people might get mad if they think I"m sharing snow! lol....
DeleteCute give a way!
ReplyDeleteWe are suppose to have snow here too but on Sunday. I'm really done with the snow especially since I had hubby sow some grass seed in the back yard!
The national news had a comparison on the difference between the temperatures of spring 2012 and 2013. Last year at this time we were in the 80's. This year, well, lets just say if I was trying to explain antonyms to an adult, I would use the weather graph they had :O)
yeah, ours is coming on Sunday, too! Grass seed? Really? haha...but you are farther south than me. We still have our driveway salt just inside the front door! haha.
DeleteOh music AND sunshine would sure be nice!
ReplyDeleteMy son told me today that he figured out how to properly predict March weather. "You study the weather patterns and predict the opposite of what you see. Ha he's about right!"
I think he has a very good formula figured out there! ;)
DeleteThey predicted snow for our area last weekend and got it wrong so I have my fingers crossed about the 5"-8" they say we'll get on Sunday :-)
ReplyDeleteGee...they must be saying the whole country is getting that much! you..me...texas... Don't put away your boots! haha.
Deleteha...maybe it would fend off the snow we are supposed to get this weekend eh? have fun at the auction and hope you come away with some good leavings too...smiles.
ReplyDeleteI think it's mostly guns. Hmmm...do I need one with my bling and fur? lol....
DeleteVery generous, Betsy. It is a beautiful music box. What's the story behind it? Did you find it at one of your auctions?
ReplyDeleteOh, yes...I should have said that...it's an auction treasure! :)
DeleteCute little birds, a signature gift from Betsy!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sweet? I love it!
Deleteawww, so sweet. Little birdies make me think of Spring and of Betsy so good luck to me!
ReplyDeleteyes, good luck to you! :)
DeleteI've got more spring fever than the Easter bunny.
ReplyDeleteoooh...that's bad! haha. The Easter Bunny might have to wear his snow shoes this year! lol....
DeleteMore snow!!! oh no!! I think we're supposed to get it here on Monday :( I'm ready for Spring!
ReplyDeleteMary x
It will eventually get here, I'm am sure of that! haha.
DeleteHere... Birdie, Birdie, Birdie, Birdie.
ReplyDeletemaybe you'll get lucky and I'll have them fly clear to Washington! :)
DeleteI would be waiting for them with open arms!
DeleteSpringtime!! YES!! I'm ready here in Georgia. Already got the garden tilled, and waiting to plant. Sooooo.... where is the warmer weather??? Need this little ditty to keep me "singing" while I wait.
ReplyDeletethe garden tilled? SHow off. lol.... Our grass isn't even green yet, but we are quite a bit nurther north than you. We're still wearing winter coats and mittens. :)

DeleteIs absolutely beauty betsy!!! (only for USA :( I know)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea...get people in the mood!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day...stay warm!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Snow tomorrow! :)
DeleteA beautiful little ornament. I'm like you and love our little feathered friends. It's snowing here too but I'll be happy when spring finally shows up and stays!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm the only one in the neighborhood feeding the birds! But that's fine with me...I love to watch them!
DeleteAh Betsy! I read again!is for all of us??
ReplyDeleteSo nice! maybe is my headache I dont understand the first time!!sorry!
yes, for all...I thought it would make it more fun. :)
DeleteEven though there is snow on the ground in western NY, the birds have started to sing again...they sound very sweet in the early morning hours. Perhaps their message echoes that of the porcelain gold finches - they'd like to teach the world to sing...not because it's winter or spring, but because they are part of God's creation and they are thankful just to sing!
ReplyDeleteHi Michele..and thanks for commenting! Our birds have begun to sing, too! It's very spring-like here today...just a tease before the snow comes tomorrow. haha.
DeleteSweet birds! We are ready for spring too. Winter storm predicted to start tomorrow here. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteUs, too! I wonder if it will really be as bad as they say.
DeleteI am ready for the return of those pretty little goldfinches to my backyard feeder and was just telling another blog friend so today. Maybe I'll plant sunflowers in anticipation, if it ever stops snowing.
ReplyDeleteyeah, might want to wait until may or so. haha. But it's a great idea to bring the finches to you!
DeleteMay is the normal planting time and it sounds so far away right now. :(
DeleteThis is cute, We still have snow on the ground here. Definitely ready for spring weather.
ReplyDeletekellywcu8888ATgmailDOTcom
thanks, kelly...I'm glad you joined in!
DeleteLovely little music box. I'd love to win it. I'm really glad you live in the snowy north, not me.
ReplyDeleteHere it has been up to 70 several days this week. Cold and rainy today though.
Enter me in your giveaway!! I enjoy reading about you and your adventures at the auction and at home.
Blessings to you, Donna
thanks, donna~ and if you win, I promise not to send snow with the sweet little birds! ha.
DeleteVery lovely music box. How nice of you to have a giveaway to perk us up...sure hope you won't get all that predicted snow. I'm SO ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteIt just started snowing now...light little flakes. We'll see what progresses throughout the evening! ha.
DeleteOh how cute!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? I love it!
DeleteUnfortunately Betsy beating me to first comment means that you now have to deal with the punishment of me becoming a follower haha! Your blog sounds awesome on a serious note! We've been badly hit by the weather over in Ireland but hopefully when this last bit of snow has thawed it'll all be gone. Spring should be here now, it seems like we should be over the whole snow thing by now!
ReplyDeletepunishment...lol.... Hey, I'm glad you stopped by!
DeleteSweet little birds!
ReplyDeleteoooh....and maybe they will be sent your way! fingers crossed! :)
DeleteSpring is my favorite time of year. We went for the most lovely drive yesterday and all the hills were green and the wild flowers were in bloom. Thank you for the giveaway.
ReplyDeletegreen rolling hills and blooming wild flowers. Well, you certainly don't live in Ohio! hahaha. Thanks for joining in!
DeleteWe have another week of chilly weather forecast here. But the birds are mobbing the feeder. We refill it every couple of days, and it's a big feeder!
ReplyDeletehey..I'd love to enter you in my giveaway...can you leave your first name?
DeleteOh, this reminds me so much OG my grandma, who died last December at 95. She did love birds...and shared that love with me:) both last weekend and this weekend I took my grandchildren to a nearby state park. We saw goldfinches both times, and today added killdeer, kestrels, mnuthatches, juncos, meadowlarks, and even a kingfisher to our sightings! Thanks for this nice giveaway! Traci.
ReplyDeleteHi Traci! You have some sweet memories there of your grandma! Kingfisher? I've only seen one in my lifetime...how very fun! Best of luck in the giveaway!
DeleteThis is an adorable music box, Betsy. I'd love a chance to win it! We had 8 inche sof snow thsi weekedn and more may be coming tomorrow--winter is holding on a little longer this year!
ReplyDeleteWe woke up to a winter wonderland, too! It's beautiful!
DeleteFinches of gold
ReplyDeleteAmidst the blooms
Spring is coming
Although snow still looms
Betsy’s a-givin’
Such a beautiful treat
See how they dance
To the music so sweet!
Good luck all!
xo
Clever you! :)
DeleteAny birds singing this weekend were doing so whilst perching on top of massive snow drifts. Rather than wanting to teach the world to sing, they have been asking where have all the seasons gone? The wind is blowing straight in from Siberia without pausing for a thought on the way.
ReplyDeleteOh, the seasons are still here! Good grief...it's only March! We've had snow in April before. I think everyone is a bit over anxious for warm weather. Come September, we'll be hollering for cold. haha.
DeleteWhat a cute music box! But seems to be the only sign of spring so far! In this part of Germany we woke up this morning to a new all-white winter wonderland. And before my first cup of tea we rushed out in pyjamas to fed hundreds of birds. Even birds from the woods are now waiting to be served in my garden. These I had not seen before all winter. They should be woeing and breeding this time of the year and have to go hunting for food instead. As you, Betsy, I do like the beauty of snow, but I am sorry for the poor creatures.
ReplyDeleteAll the best for your week!
Christel
Well, sounds like the creatures have come to the right place! :) I'm sure they appreciate your hospitality! :)
DeleteHey Betsy...it's Betsy. I haven't been around for a while and wanted to stop in and say hello. I am back to blogging so I hope you will stop on by.
ReplyDeleteWell, hi! How are you? I'll come pay you a visit soon...so great to see you!
DeleteI almost never win anything, but I'll take a shot!
ReplyDeletecross your fingers and toes...and maybe your eyes. :)
DeleteI almost never win anything, but I'd love a chance to win it!!
ReplyDeletewell, best of luck, Amby....you squeaked in just under the wire! :)
