A little bit of what happened at the zoo today...
1. Watched The Mister on live TV on the news at noon.
He's part of Rotary International and they were plugging a
community event.
2. Made up an Easter centerpiece for the dining room table.
Pretty, huh...that's a succulent named Kalanchoe.
It jumped into my shopping cart so I brought it home. :)
3. Managed the men and pets on a snow day. I hear
10 inches total fell in our area. Not sure we have that much, though.
4. Made a Garbage Omelette, which basically is everything
you want to throw in, you do! So there was a potato browned
in onion and garlic, ham, mushrooms, cheese and cilantro. yum.
And I guess they are really scrambled eggs, but I call
it an omelette.
5. Filled the feeders. Look at that snow cap!
We also need to announce the winner of the spring giveaway!!
Here's how the winner was chosen...
I'm so happy for you, Laurie!
Can't wait to send these sweet singing birds up to
Canada for your nest in the sky!
Email me your address, won't you?
My email is elizabethbrockatattdotnet.
Congratulations!
Thanks to everyone who joined in!

wooho...i am happy for laurie as well...great choice...ha...so how do your cats do in the snow? mine is good...he likes to chase it....but then comes in and sleeps like 6 hours to reserve energy again...
ReplyDeletehaha...that is exactly what they do here...chase snowflakes until they are exhausted and then sleep like they are dead to the world! Looks like cat corpses laying around the house. lol....
DeleteCongrats to Laurie! :)
ReplyDeleteIt snowed all day here as well, still is in fact, but a very lazy relaxing snow that just drifts down and looks pretty. No school delay drama for either of our schools.
Sounds like you had a successful day. #4 looks good enough to eat!
That's how our snow was....kind of mesmerizing! And we're getting a pinch more right now. I imagine everyone will be back to school tomorrow!
DeleteCongrats to Laurie, and your eggs look delicious!
ReplyDeletethey were yummy...I ate the whole thing. haha.
DeleteCongratulations to Laurie on the big win, well done! I love these photos too, it's a good thing that you love snow because it seems like you guys have got a lot of it! The omelette looks delicious as well, there's something about the idea of just using everything that's left in one big omelette that I absolutely love and now want to try.
ReplyDeleteyep, those kind of omelettes are fun to make...just throw anything in them...you can't go wrong!
DeleteIm happy for Laurie! So good!
ReplyDeleteWhat nice see the mr. In TV! Lol
He looks so well:)
The omelette sounds delicious! Still I dont know what I will make fir dinner; maybe pizza or pasta:)
yeah, that was fun...it's not every day you're on tv. lol. It only lasted about 2 minutes. :)
DeleteSomeone said he looks like he could be my dad. haha...yeah, he does look much older than me...and he thinks so, too.
pasta or pizza...both sound yummy!
I think he looks nice!:)
DeleteFinally Im making pizza:)
Laurie won you say
ReplyDeleteGone up to a Canada bay
The cat likes that
And the mister on tv at your mat
That must have been fun to see
As you step over each downed kitty
And of course yuck to all the snow
Time for it to go
yes, up to Canada the music box goes.
DeleteThat should thrill you to your toes.
And I'll take the snow from you!
I'm not tired of it, it's true.
Put on my boots and walked out in it today
so lovely at my bay! lol....
Crazy as crazy can be
DeleteWith that snow at your sea haha
Congrats to Laurie! Looks like you had a great day. Nice to see the Mister have his minute of fame!
ReplyDeleteyeah, that was fun! :)
DeleteCool about the tv appearance. Your omelette looks so yummy! Congrats to Laurie!
ReplyDeleteWe received about 8 inches of snow overnight. Not enjoying it : )
I heard IL and IN really got a lot in a very short amount of time! It's beautiful, though, you must admit. No? ok...hahaha.
DeleteHuge congratulations to Laurie!! And love the garbage omelette! LOL!! The best kind! Take care
ReplyDeletex
Laurie will be so surprised! :)
DeleteKudos to Laurie...
ReplyDeleteThe omellette looks delish...
Does your Mr kinda look like my boyfriend [before the grey]?
I was kinda hoping Harry might pull my name!?
We escaped that latest snowfall...but still a raw wind...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
well The MIster is all grey...even his beard. You know who he really looks like is Russell Crowe. haha...at least several have said that.
DeleteNo more snow? Maybe we got your portion! haha.
Love your blooming shamrock ... my christmas cactus is blooming now, go figure. I can see all of your boys in Mister's face. They have the best of both of their parents!!!!
ReplyDeleteI should peak at my cactus. I tend to neglect it since it doesn't like too much water. It might be blooming, too! Another blogger mentioned hers was blooming for Easter! haha. The triplets look like their dad, that is very true...except they have my brown eyes. Taylor looks nothing like his dad. haha.
Deleteoh my gosh, thank you so much, I am soooo surprised!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy when you do the collage of your day, that omellette looks soooo good!Thank you so much Betsy, its a beautiful prize,
yay...congratulations, Laurie! I hope you love it!
DeleteWe dodged the snow this time and saved it for you. That garbage omelette really looks good!
ReplyDeletewell, you know I'll take the snow. I'm the last snow lover standing! haha.
DeleteCongrats, Laurie - as a fellow Canadian, I am glad they flew up here! Mmmmmm, Betsy, that omelette is speaking to me - yum! And your pics, as always, are wonderful. I love how high the "icing" is on the bird feeder. Wish we had more snow. We have only had a couple storms this year and none of it really lasted for very long. Maybe Ohio is the place to be! Your Easter centrepiece is so fresh and pretty - you need to pin it to Pinterest.
ReplyDeletexo
what a great idea...I just might do that! :)
Delete10 inches of snow? I'm so desperate for spring I think i would have been blowing it away with a hair dryer. Today i watched a robin fighting to pull a worm through the snow...I need her attitude!
ReplyDeleteoh, I've never seen that...hope you took pictures!
DeleteForgot to mention, Betsy... hubby looks very handsome on the air!
ReplyDeleteyes, he does, doesn't he? ha. That was fun for sure.
DeleteHi Betsy .. your table decoration is just beautiful. How fabulous your hubby is a mover and shaker in Rotary International .. they do great works, and obviously within your community too ..
ReplyDeleteCheers Hilary
yes, they do! He's been involved for over 20 years.
Deleteand yes, I do agree with you on the HenryMonstar. spam! Cookie Monsters are allowed. Henry Monsters are not. lol....
DeleteCongratulations, Laurie! I love that Easter centerpiece, Betsy. Does it happen very often that things just jump into your shopping cart? ;)
ReplyDeleteall the time! Things just jump in and I have no choice but to bring them home with me. :) That's my story and I'm sticking to it! ha.
DeleteI am a little behind the times. (Just can't seem to catch up and stay there!)
ReplyDeleteYour breakfast looks yummy and I think I'd call it an omelet too.Congrats on the snow day, we didn't get any this year, and congrats to Laurie on her new pets. :)
I could eat a plate of those eggs every day. yum.
DeleteA snow day was WELCOME! A three day WEEK is WELCOME! Love the centerpiece...I am NOT ready for Easter and must get busy TODAY with my plan!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI slept in...felt wonderful! ;)
DeleteCongrats to Laurie!! Stay warm!! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeletestayed in today...nice and cozy!
DeleteBetsy, that kalanchoe is poison to kitties. My daughter had one and our kitty chewed a bit and got pretty sick. We realized she was ill and got her to the vet and she got meds that made her well. Not sure how inside your kitties are but worth being careful of. what a handsome dh you have! Taria
ReplyDeleteOh, that is good to know! Thanks for telling me. It's on the dining room table, but I think I'll move it just in case! thank you!
DeleteMy congratulations to Laurie! So at least she will get a bit of spring for Easter.
ReplyDeleteChristel
