Shoe Shopping

With my cell, at DSW

Do you like heels?
I know all you guys do. (to see, not to wear. ha)
I always gravitate to heels when I'm shoe shopping!
Maybe it's my high arches, but if they fit well, I don't
find them uncomfortable at all!
I did end up getting these pretty black suede heels
to wear to a black tie dinner over the weekend.
Oh, and a pretty blue pair with an ankle strap.
So fun!  I asked the lady at the check out if panty hose
was back 'in'.  She said it depended on your age and
your legs.  LOL!  Yes, I guess she's right.

Speaking of shoes, my aunt Cathy sent me a cute little
equation to try.  Your shoes can tell your age, did you know?

Try this...

Take your shoe size. (only whole sizes)
Multiply it by 5.
Add 50.
Multiply by 20.
Add 1012.
Subtract the year you were born.

The first digit is your shoe size.
And the last two digits are your age.

Thanks for the mention on the shoe thing. I must admit I received it in an email from the darling Dee.

  3. I cannot believe that equation works!! Wow. I love your shoes. I haven't worn anything over 2 1/2 heels for ao long, I don't think I have the balance for anything taller. I wear black pantyhose whenever I can because I'm never sure. I'd love to find those bare panty hose that Princess Kate wears...they are invisable.

    Jane

    1. I did notice Kate's! Yes, very sheer with a tiny bit of sparkle. That would be fun.

These were high even for me...and I did have to do a practice walk around inside the house to make sure I could do it. lol...

  5. So....those are your everyday shoes in the mirror, right???
And you are telling us that these HIGH heels are COMFORTABLE???
Yeah....right....I will believe anything you tell me Betsy...
And if you say they are comfortable...
    Then...
    They are comfortable...
    Me???
    I am a flip flops kinda gal!!!hahaha...
Dinner looks delish....do you cook while wearing these "comfortable' shoes???

    Cheers!

    1. hahahaha...well, I don't vacuum in them, no. :)
Yes, they are comfortable! I hate it when shoes pinch your toes or whatever. If they really fit well, and don't hurt, the height doesn't bother me. But...I love flip flops, too. Gee, I usually am in my slippers! :)

  6. Who comes up with these tricky equations anyway?

I can not wear heels at all. My shoes are all flat and that keeps my feet happy. It does, however, make shoe shopping a bit more difficult and not near as much fun.

    1. I don't know! And how does it work? I'm not mathematically inclined, so none of those things will be figured out by me! ha.

There are tons of ballet flats out...and they are so cute!

  7. Hope you didn't fall the other night...

  8. WOW kuddos for being able to walk in those! I would be flat on my face!

No heels for me though. Those look good on you, better hope its not icy when you wear them :)

    1. Oh, try it again. It's been right on everyone that I know of. And, I'm glad you don't wear size 13. hahaha.

    2. ha, yes I did get it right this time. :)

we have two boys that wear big shoes (13 & 14) hoping those feet stop growing soon! lol :) I guess it wouldn't look right to be over 6' and solidly built and wear a size 8 now would it? LOL :)

      Delete
    3. hha...no, if they are tall, they need big feet! Taylor is 6.2 and only wears a 10.5! Any smaller and they wouldn't hold him up! lol.... 14? Now that is a big shoe!

I'm wanting one of your parfaits right about now. :)

      Delete
    4. yes and it's our 15 year old that wears them. Kind of doubt that he's done growing.

I'll dish up a parfait for you but perhaps you'd prefer one or two of the Meyer Lemon experiments from today? They were yummy! Let me just say the lemon curd from the store tastes and looks like plastic compared to the homemade stuff! I think it was my first time making it and wow! I could have eaten the whole batch!

      Delete
    5. I don't think I'd ever turn down one of your experiments. ha. They sound yummy! And you know, I've only had the store bought lemon curd! I guess I don't know what I'm missing!

      Delete
    6. oh...and Taylor still grew taller after his feet stopped growing, so maybe that will happen to your boys. I think he had a growth spurt when he was 17-18 years old.

      Delete
    7. I'll be honest and say that the store bought stuff IS somewhat tasty, really. And the jars are cute :)

      Delete
    8. It's good...but like everything else, homemade is ALWAYS better! Will you be posting any lemon things soon? :)

    9. Hopefully this week yet sometime :)

  12. Love your heels!, Betsy LOL
. . . . and I have always liked ladies in high heels but marvelled how you manage to walk in them without getting severe cramp in your calf muscles.

The equation is very clever but I didn't read it properly at first and was rather surprised to see I was over 1000 by a margin I can tell you. You might say you have shown us all a clear pair of heels with this stunning equation ROFL

    1. Thanks, Eddie. I guess walking in them is like learning to ride a bike. ha.

  14. I'm too tired to do the math, but I'll take your word for it! I can't imagine wearing those shoes, cute as they are. At 5'8" I'd tower over all! We want to see you in them ...the complete outfit please!

    1. 5'8"? Lucky you....you're model height and don't need heels! :)

Someone else asked me for the complete outfit. haha...maybe! maybe I'll cave. lol...

  15. HOW did you do that with that calculation!?!? It worked!! It's true - shoe size and age!!WOW!!!

p.s. I am now suffering with heel-envy!! Those are SOME gorgeous heels!! Gorgeous!! Take care

  16. Well the equation worked for me. But as to those heels there is no way I would be able to wear them. I would fall and break my ankle or worse yet fall on someone else and break their ankle. I pretty much just wear flipflops and sandals, still wearing them. I have worn sneakers a few times but can count the times on one hand. Fairly mild winter for us and no need to get out my heavy duty shoes. Although others are wearing theirs. And it would be really nice to see you in your whole outfit. Will you be able to wear the new earrings, oh I really do hope so?

I hope you have a lot of fun there and just get to relax and enjoy yourselves.

    God blesss.

    1. break someone else's ankle...lol....you are SO funny. Yes, that would be bad...breaking your own or someone else's. I love flip flops. I've seen so many pretty ways to dress them up, too, on Pinterest that I'm looking forward to trying. It won't be flip flop weather here until May!
