Today I....
- made cranberry apple hand pies out of leftover cranberry relish and crescent roll dough.
- enjoyed looking at the snow
- welcomed a little indoor visitor
- checked on the couch potatoes
- did a little bird watching
- enjoyed one last cup of mulled cider.
The boys don't go back to school until the 9th!
We're having a few lazy, wonderful days until then!
♥
um...can i have a hand pie...that looks good....and you have a star floating in your cider...how cool
ReplyDeleteof course you can :) Love those star fruits...the perfect holiday garnish!
DeleteLove the shot of the snow-covered gazebo.
ReplyDeletepretty, huh!
DeleteAdorable.
DeleteI thought you hated snow! :)
DeleteJust shoveling it and driving in it. Watching it snow with the right person beside me can be very relaxing. And I do love gazebos, too!
DeleteIs Orson a person? ....ducks....lol...
DeleteHE doesn't watch the snow. He only watches his food dish! I'm talking about lady-type people!
DeleteWhat a lovely day! and i'm still jealous of your snow! lol
ReplyDeleteThe children have gone back to school and seem to be enjoying it :) Next week I'll get to enjoy the peace and quiet and my normal routines. This week I'm getting ready for company so I need to clean :)
I know what you mean about routines! I can't get into one with the boys still at home. Seems I'm the only one sleeping late! ha. And I feel a bit lazy....with 100 projects staring at me! lol....
Deleteha, yes, the projects will do that. just sit there and stare at you! enjoy the lazy days.
DeleteI'm making lists as I gear up to hit it all soon! ha. My house needs a major organization overhaul. ha.
DeleteWe went back to school today! I am sure my students thought I looked like a zombie early this morning. lol
ReplyDeleteI told the mister tonight that I'm the only one sleeping late these days...I'll be the one having a hard time getting up when school starts next week!
DeleteIs that your gazebo, Betsy? I love it...
ReplyDeleteYou sure had a nice day..kinda relaxing...but rewarding as well...
I wonder how long that little ladybug has been sleeping in that plant...hahaha...
Those pies look really tasty...
My soup was delish...I must say...I outdid myself!!!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
It's the neighbors...I can see it while sitting at my desk. I love looking at it!
DeleteI bet your soup was yummy....some of my best soups started out as a roast!
Geez they are off longer than me
ReplyDeleteNice being able to relax at ones sea
Better hope a cat
Doesn't spy the ladybug at your mat
And snow ewwww
All yours at your zoo
The ladybug would be gone
Deleteand the cat would be singing a song!
:)
haha rifting the book
DeleteThat will come one day to my nook
Did you put that in my head?
DeleteOh, that causes me dread! ha.
Great use of the leftover rolls and cranberry relish!! I'm sure I would enjoy one of those right now!! hope you all have a wonderful few more days of relaxing! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI really need to get to work! But I haven't found my muse yet!
DeleteThese pictures are relaxing to look at, especially with the little snowflakes peacefully falling. And I really like that picture of your couch potato!
ReplyDeleteHe only moves to get a snack from the kitchen. ha.
DeleteI like your indoor visitor. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have eaten or given away most of the holiday goodies now. It's actually a relief to have them gone. Tomorrow I will bake a blueberry pie for a very special 25 year old son. I think I shall enjoy the aroma as it fills the house. Maybe I'll even drink a cup of coffee while I inhale deeply.
no birthday pie for you? Wow, you are diehard! ha. I haven't found my willpower yet.
DeleteI have 30 pounds to lose. I have to hang onto all the will power I can, even if I do cheat and drink coffee. :)
DeleteWell, I wouldn't consider coffee as cheating...it will probably help you not eat! And it prevents dementia...that's my go-to fact. :) I mean, what benefit will skinny be if you loose your mind? lol...
DeleteI like that one! :)
Deletenice pictures Betsy and nice pies look delicious!
ReplyDeletethe little pies were so fun to make! And a nice way to use up some things in the refrigerator!
DeleteI love little pies!
Deletecranberry and apple...yum! With a little cinnamon. Homemade crust would have been better, though. haha.
DeleteWhat a great relaxing way to spend the day!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
It was lovely and lazy! ha.
Deleteand I love snow gazebo too!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that pretty? Ah, you and Silver both like it! :)
DeleteI always love Gazebo Betsy and this with snow is lovely!
DeleteWhat a nice day. Love lazy hazy days... Didn't have one today. Was getting ready to make a new post, and when I hit the the button to upload a picture...the "browse" button is gone, and it doesn't give options to upload from pictures. Got any ideas, or is it just my computer. I check on all 3 blogs I manage, and it's the same. Have you had a problem?
ReplyDeleteNo, I made this post a couple of hours ago and didn't have a problem. Where is the browse button? I'm not following you on that one.
DeleteI love these posts, they always make me want to come spend the day with you! :)
ReplyDeletehaha..ok! Then I'll come spend the day with you! Let's do that zipline! haha.
DeleteYou make a cool winter day feel good.
ReplyDeleteIt did feel good....now today, I hope to accomplish something. ha.
DeleteYou are soo good.
ReplyDeleteAll I did all day was try to scan my old photos because they are fading.
It is so time consuming
I am also sending them to family just in case they are losing theirs as well.
Oh, that is a big job! And one that I need to do. It's too daunting right now...oh my. But good for you to get started! It will feel so good when it's finished!
Deletesuch pretty photos~ no snow here, we only had one dusting of it so far.
ReplyDeleteOur school goes back Monday but I am sure my DD and SIL, who both teach, would rather not go back until the 9th.
so true...I'm sure the teachers really enjoy the break!
DeleteWhen i relax, I seem to do nothing compared to you. What a pretty ,peaceful post Betsy, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeletewell, you don't have all these boys creating things to do. ha. :)
DeleteOh how lovely - enjoy the last days of the holiday!
ReplyDeleteMary x
we are...only a few more to go! :)
DeleteI am going to try that cranberry idea. I made relish and I think creating baked items out it would be fun.
ReplyDeleteI think you'll like it, Larry! It's always fun to use up the leftovers! :)
DeleteHand pies! What a great idea and a fun way to use up left-overs. You always have such great ideas. Enjoy these lazy days until school resumes.
ReplyDeleteWe finished them up tonight...and I wished there were more! ha.
