We moved here almost 7 years ago and I was amazed at all the Cardinals! Most of the ones I saw were males so I'm thinking it doesn't stop at the 12. We have a small woods beside us that is a tangle of briers, and that's what they like so they feel right at home! :)
Wow surprised if one didn't get caught As there are a whole lot She has motives that are sinster indeed Hopefully she'll share and not be filled with greed haha Tiger would want one And there are a ton
Could there be any more Sparrows at your feeder??? And they are almost as bad as the squirrels for emptying the feeder... They seem to flick the seeds everywhere.... Wonderful shots, Betsy... I can't say that I have ever seen 12 Cardinals!!!!That would be a sight to see!!!! Like you...mostly in pairs...
our kitten left us a few wings on the porch the other day...
and too funny on the pickles...my mom got me eating those growing up...i was the one though that ate PB and pimento cheese...on a dare...enjoyed it and so i eat it every so often...
I ate mayo and peanut butter on a dare once. ha. Only once. :)
We really need to find that one ancestor that connects us....probably long, long ago...some crazy repo person eating pb and p's...and all those other things that we two have done. :)
Brrrrrr... baby it's cold outside. You sure do have a variety of birds. I replenish our feeder everyday, also. The hummingbird feeder I bring in every evening. Otherwise it freezes. I should just get another one.
What a "flock" of birds at your feeder. Just adore your photography of the cats. Oh my, I still think you could have the best cat calendar around.
I had some sparrows today, and a couple brave little yellow house finches came back. My faithful humming birds keep their feeder empty, and I filling it every few days.
We have a Velvet, too!! She is as white as the snow you photographed... and her motives are just as sinister as your Velvet. We call her The Assassin. ;) Beautiful photos, Betsy!! blessings ~ tanna
This is absolutely amazing....net only a hysterical post, but where on earth did you find all those birds? Do you hold casting calls...do you tempt them with your outstanding cooking? Inquiring minds want to know!
You'd think they would see all the cats and fly away! Crazy, isn't it? Must be the seed! I have to be the only one feeding birds in the whole village. haha.
Great photos! I especially like the cardinal and Velvet. Black cats look so pretty against the white snow. And the green eyes match the tree branches. And to answer your question on my blog, that is an African violet in my header pic. I gave it to Tom a year ago on his birthday. It has lost it's blooms now, but hopefully they will return.
I'm sure it will bloom again...it's just beautiful! I haven't had one for over a year now and I miss them!...but mine never were full of blooms like that one of yours!
Definitely a sinister look in Velvet's eyes. I love your photos today, especially the one of Tiger looking out the window.
We are covered with a fresh, cold blanket today. I think perhaps one day I should invest in a pair of snow pants and learn to soak in winter's beauty from outside my windows... maybe.
Tiger is sitting on my desk, looking out at those feeders just outside the window. There's almost always one cat watching from there and it's become a favorite daily sight for me. Something just homey about a cat inside. :)
I seem to enjoy the winter from inside, too. ha. It's just cozier. However, today is pristine...sparkly snow and a brilliant cloudless blue sky. It would be wonderful for photographs! Still, I think I'll stay inside and sip coffee. (..and water! How are you doing with that? I've never peed so much in my life. lol....)
Today I desperately want a big cup of hot, French vanilla coffee. I've already thrown out the last piece of chocolate cake (it was screaming my name from under that piece of tinfoil...) in order that I not break down and eat it. I want so much for comfort food today. I've not had as much water today as I should have, but the day isn't even half over yet.
I'm looking forward to those cloudless skies. Ours have been rather thick and gray. Maybe the sunshine will arrive in time for my weekend gallivanting.
So you're cutting out coffee, too? Oh, I couldn't do that. I'm drinking my pot AND the water...I need the heat and comfort and caffeine. :) Maybe our blue sky will reach you tomorrow...I need sunglasses in the kitchen things are so bright!
I've had a half cup of coffee each morning. Stress calls me to want more but now that it's into the afternoon, I'd best resist until tomorrow morning. I like to sleep at night. Doing good on the water so far today.
I thought I had lots of birds at my feeder but yours is amazing and so is your photography! :) Printed the granola recipe and looking forward to making it. Happy New Year

Aren't you glad I didn't ask people to count them? haha.
DeleteThat is a LOT of birds. Did they empty your feeder before they moved on?
ReplyDeletethey don't move on! They empty it every day and wait for it to be filled! ha.
Deletehaha velvet it seems might be a little hungry....omg....that is crazy the number of birds in that tree....
ReplyDeleteshe's just a wild hunter. When she's inside, she sits under the parakeets cage. ha.

We have so many sparrows that when another kind comes along, I get all excited! haha. No hummingbirds here...not until the summer!

Our yellow finches are gone until spring...they are one of my favorites...especially their sweet little voices!
DeleteI need to work on that calendar! I certainly have a lot of subjects for photos! ha.
We have a Velvet, too!! She is as white as the snow you photographed... and her motives are just as sinister as your Velvet. We call her The Assassin. ;) Beautiful photos, Betsy!! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeletehaha...Oh, I didn't know that...how fun! I bet she's a beauty! She could hide in the snow better than our Velvet!
DeleteWow, you are attracting a lot of birds this winter... I'm sure your home is a refuge for them.
ReplyDeleteI need some neighbors to help out! haha.

ReplyDeleteoh my! I know! haha.
DeleteWhat stunning birds Betsy. We never have anything half so colourful in our gardens over here. But I don't envy you the white background!
ReplyDeletethank you, Alan...and I'll keep the snow! I love it! :)
