New Years Eve 2012

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne (days gone by) ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Robert Burns, 1788

********

As we reflect on the best of times and the worst of times
of 2012,  I wish all of you a happy start to 2013!
May it be a wonderful year for all of us!

We're having our stay-at-home, quiet, tradition of bringing
in the new year.  We'll eat yummy food, flop on the couch,
and watch the ball drop in NYC.

Are you partying tonight or flopping at home?
How ever you celebrate, I hope it's fun!

  1. Happy New Year! We had plans but after spending every day at the hospital this week, we decided to flop at home and it feels good! We did go out for supper, but decided we're really getting old because we were there before 5pm. :)

    1. We usually go to bed at midnight, so staying up won't be hard for us. And our boys will be asking to go to bed at 10, as usual....routine never changes for them! ha.

    2. We found this place called "North Shore Burger" All Surfing decorations, and delicious burgers with grilled onions and sweet potato fries. They are now our new favorite burger!

I just got some exciting news...our granddaughter Monique (24) just got engaged...A wonderful young man..and she wants Grandpa to marry them. Probably in a year or when Eddie graduates from College. I was thinking of Taylor and his sweetheart. Brings back sweet memories of my own.

  14. Happy New Year Betsy!
I posted the last scenes from "When Harry Met Sally". They discuss the song, "Auld Lang Syne" and what it means or may mean. Love that.
