Found A Peanut

Red Breasted Nuthatch...I swear I heard him singing this song....

Found A Peanut

Found a peanut,
Found a peanut,
Found a peanut just now.
I just now found a peanut,
Found a peanut just now.
Cracked it open,
cracked it open,
cracked it open just now
I just now cracked it open,
cracked it open just now.
It was rotten,
it was rotten,
it was rotten just now,
just now it was rotten,
it was rotten just now.

And if that wasn't enough childhood reminiscing for you,
you can continue with other stanzas of....

Ate it anyway,
Got sick,
Called the doctor,
Died anyway,
Went to heaven,
Got a job there,
Selling peanuts,
Dropped a peanut,
Then I found it.

hahaha!  :)

The cute thing about this little nuthatch is that when I went out to
fill the feeders, all the other birds flew up into the tree to watch.
But he flew down close to me and we had a chat while
I poured in the seed. Aw. :)
I snapped this picture right when I came inside.
He looked right at me in through window as if to say, "Thanks!"

    2. It's sung to the tune of Oh My Darling, Clementine.
Wiki said it was popular in the US, Canada, and Australia during childhood time.
      Guess you were deprived
      during your young life.

  6. cute! I fed my birds today too. It was warm outside and they looked thirsty so I got one of the boys to carry the big birdbath onto the deck so I can keep them hydrated as well as fed this winter :)

    2. ha, well it's something I wanted to do anyway. they seem to enjoy it once everything is frozen and snowy.

grey gloom you say? well I won't notice. I'll be in the basement knee deep in paint. haha

    3. Oh now that sounds like fun! :) I will be out and about. I don't mind the grey, but it would be nice if it didn't rain on me!

  7. I love your up close and personal shots. This one is teriffic..and yes, I heard him singing.

Oh what memories..we sang all the time when Jill was a girl scout and I was a leader.

Made my English Toffee today, and it turned out so good...last year it was a flop. Listen to your mother when she says make candy on a sunny day...rainy days, it won't set up!!! God advice. We had wonderful sunshine today.

  11. Hahaha! You have no idea how you made me laugh. The pic. of the bird and the peanut song played a whole scene in my head. Too funny. I haven't thought of that song in more years than I can count.
You really do get some amazing shots.
Not allergic to peanuts/nuts but don't like them. To me all nuts taste like I think dirt would or like peanut butter smells. ick. Wouldn't you know it. Hubby and son love all nuts and peanut butter. Traders! ;)
