So the other day I checked my mail
the postman brings it rain or hail
and in there was a gift for me
so I opened it up just to see!
This is what was in the wrap
and it was from that rhyming sap.
He thought it was perfect for me
and wrapped it up with glee.
Now why do you suppose
he thinks I'm crazy from my head to my toes?
I really have no idea why
he thinks I like cats, you guys!
But looking at the photos here
I'm thinking he could be right, I fear.
And as they gather around my feet
while I cut them up some meat
I guess I must admit that maybe
I really am the crazy cat lady.
♥
Not crazy, just a cat lady, :)
ReplyDeleteaw..thanks!
DeleteI agree with Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteSee, Pat! Maybe I'm not crazy afterall!
DeletePfft just being nice

Looks like The Mister is married to the right woman. Better Cat Man than Bat Man....HaHa. What a lucky bunch of cats.....That action figure is to die for...where ever did he find it???
ReplyDeletehaha...oh, I don't know...I've always had a thing for Batman. :)
DeleteThere are a few cats that really like The Mister, though, and sit on the couch with him. ha.
I have no idea where he got it!
Ok, Mr. Batman... I think there was a "Catwoman" in that movie..that must be you. I continue to miss my cats watching yours.
Deletehahaha he got you right
ReplyDeleteall the cats you'll feed tonight

Deletesending me such a treat1

ReplyDeleteIn the kitchen to be found
Tons of cats indeed
No idea why such a gift would come to your feed
I guess some cat thought so
And away it came to your show
and that wasn't all of them
Deleteit's really funny if they all come in.
A sea of cats it can be
and really is quite funny!
I suppose it will happen more
with the cold weather at my shore.
The ones at the other shore
DeleteCan all come to explore
But some hate each other as well
So when they do can raise hell
meow! at least you haven't "gone to the dogs"! haha
ReplyDeletehaha....not a single dog here!
DeleteNo strays to rescue, my dear! haha.
Why oh why am I rhyming?
Deleteoh dear.

Deleteand could be jealous of my crew.
He's in Nova Scotia, though
so I can't send him any from my show!
Maybe he could find some strays
up there around the bay.
haha.
I'm still thinking about those bar cookies
you were tempting me with! ha. yum.
I had no idea Pat was Canadian...I may just look at him differently!!!!

oh my gosh that is a hoot!
ReplyDeleteI know! Cracked me up!
DeleteI'm laughing out loud here...too funny Betsy!
ReplyDeleteHe got me good, didn't he? haha.
DeleteSo funny! I understand the crazy cat lady syndrome. At one point in my life I had 15 cats, all neutered and up to date on their shots. Luckily I lived in the country then, which -of course- was part of the reason I owned so many cats: the poor little guys got dumped on my property, and I took them in. Now I am a city dweller with only two feline charges; the 15 referred to in the above are all in kitty heaven, having lived a good life.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I take a cat to get neutered, there is someone there with cats that got dumped on their country home! It must be a very common thing to do! I keep wondering how many cats there would be if I hadn't taken on this project! It would have been way out of control. But I haven't got the mom yet and she's already left, only to come around maybe once a week. Hopefully during the winter she will be around more for shelter.
DeleteYou have a couple of cats with your pug? I didn't know that!
That is seriously funny! Though I don't think you're crazy at all...and I love seeing your cat photos. Thanks (to you and Pat) for making me laugh.
ReplyDeleteIt was way too funny not to share! :)
DeleteLOL!! Oh, my goodness!! That is hysterical, Betsy!! LOVE it! Wishing you and your sweet, sweet family the merriest of Christmases if I don't make it back before then (my Little Men are getting ALL their Noni's attention while I have the chance). blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteOH, tanna...enjoy your little men! I know you will have a wonderful time with them...and they with you!
DeleteNahhhh, that's not you. You'd never dress like that, haha!
ReplyDeleteEw. wth is that avatar?
DeleteAn evil Santa, of course! Just for a few days. Ha. :)
DeleteAwwwwww!! Are those new kitties?!?! Awwwww - how could you not be a kitty lady!?! Yay! take care
ReplyDeletex
NO! hahaha...no new kitties! Just a history in photos.
DeleteHi Betsy .. what an amazing little package - such fun to see .. but your real put-cats are so wonderful and you post such great photos of them - I too would love a cat every time I come to your blog ..
ReplyDeleteDo they get Christmas prezzies?!!! Cheers and have a wonderful Christmas and New Year - Hilary
I did buy a few new cat nip toys! :)
DeleteDear Betsy, your poem is so delightfully funny and your bunch of cats is just adorable! I do like these beautiful creatures, too and have been living with quite a few of them for many years now. So I guess I can understand you. And I do not mind becoming the crazy old cat lady either in the eyes of some people. In the meantime I also keep a very understanding husband and two nice sons to kind of balance my reputation.
ReplyDeleteI wish you and your five men a wonderful, happy Christmas!
Christel
Well, thanks, Christel! Actually, The Mister likes the cats, too....which happens to be a good thing. :)

No problem...I even knew that was you! :) Thanks for the link.
DeleteHa, very funny!
ReplyDeleteGolly...one has to wonder if that rhyming sap designed this himself huh? Tooooo perfect!! =)
ReplyDeleteI missed this one! Oh my Betsy! YOU ARE! LOVE the toy and the post! SO FUNNY! I went from five cats down to 2....I had been called a "CAT LADY" for having FIVE! I always refer to YOU in my defense. I have to admit I miss having the small "crowd" of felines.
