What I Did Wednesday #32

  1. I finished the last of the gift basket Christmas orders from my little business!
  2. I received a sweet little package all the way from Chile!  I guess Gloria not only can cook and bake, but she can embroider and crochet!  Such nice handmade gifts and I love them.  Thank you, Gloria!  How sweet!
  3. Wrapped some presents.
  4. Enjoyed the roses The Mister gave me for our anniversary on Monday.
  5. Shipped off a few more things from my Etsy shop.
  6. Watched as the boys opened up a gift from Lauren's Nana.  Isn't that sweet?  A 2013 train calendar!  Thanks, Nana!
  7. They all took turns pouring over the train pictures. :)
  8. And...I doodled!  I was enjoying all of the chalkboard Christmas messages on Pinterest when I had to laugh.  I have a huge Pottery Barn chalkboard hanging in the living room!  I never write on it!  It's magnetic and I use it that way.  Duh.  lol.  So, I bought a chalk marker and doodled to my heart's content.  Very fun!

I hope you had a wonderful day, too!

    1. Sandies? Yum! Have you ever posted the recipe? They sound delicious!
Make sure you have your camera handy...just in case something hilarious happens while you are baking. Hilarious to us, of course, not necessarily to you at that given moment! lol....but of course you will laugh later, too...in time. ha.

    2. I will post a picture tomorrow of the cookies and the recipe, and hopfully I won't be posting a picure of a powdered sugar cook! Usually those moments don't get on the camera, as I have it cleaned up and then remember ~~ "I could have got a shot of that...." Made Shepherd Pie tonight, and it turned out so good ~ don't know what I did different, but it just tasted so good. Going caroling with the Church in a few minutes...LaLaLa..

    3. It's wonderful to love your own cooking, isn't it? I know I love to eat my own! And I've never made Shepherd's Pie! I really should try that some time, too!

      Have fun caroling!

  5. When we were at our neighbor's for an open house earlier in the month, I saw that they had a large framed chalkboard (with a selection of colored chalk underneath) hanging on her kitchen wall.

  8. Looks like the train calendar was a hit
    And lots was writ
    I know not a word
Don't flip me the bird haha
    Gloria sucking up too
I guess much can be done from her zoo
    Especailly buried in the sand
As she sends presents across the land
    A wrapped a present too
In a small box, then a bigger box an a bigger box and so on at my zoo
Took a good hour to wrap
Oh how I love to pick on that brother chap
Counted forms up the arse as well
    That truly was hell

    1. writ? hahahahahahaha! Oh, you slipping cat, SLIPPING! lol...

      So, Gloria was a suckup?
      What does that make you?
Still need to post that gift
      to me from you.
      It's already in draft!
      I know...don't laugh.
It will get a post of it's own
just to let it be known! ha.
      Everyone will need to see
what a perfect thing it was for me! ha.

Oh, you are a bad brother indeed
doing the nesting wrapped boxes at your feed!
Making him work for a gift
that is surely to cause a rift
      in the family bond
      but he'll sing your song
      and payback can be hell
just remember a warning I did tell.
      hahaha.

      All have to see
      As it fits you perfectly

And he already has it done to be as well
Each year we cause each other hell
I used a few zipper bags too
And put the packaging tape on backwards at my zoo
It makes it really sticky that way
And not easy to rip the 6 rolls of wrapping paper off its display hahahaha

  10. Well...that was a very busy productive day, Betsy
I love those kind of days...when you actually feel like you got something done...finished...completed..
We took a drive to the cottage today...
Not much sun...but not windy, which made it feel warmer...
Tomorrow will be a busy one for me...and then I plan to lock myself in until I finish everything!!!!
Still have that stocking to finish...wrapping...YIKES!!!
But....like most every Mom...I always pull it all together...

Enjoy the rest of your evening..
    Cheers!
    Linda :o)

    1. Yes, we always pull it off in the end! ha. Sounds like you're well on your way, though, with your scarves done, the house decorated, etc. Just need to bake that shortbread! ha.

I need to sit down tomorrow and go over my lists...just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. Might need to make a quick grocery trip out, probably Sunday. I always like to be in to stay before Christmas Eve. I should be able to finish the wrapping tomorrow, too.
The countdown seems to be going amazingly fast! haha.

    2. sure...you had to remind me about the shortbread!!!!
      Thanks....hahaha....
I have already started my "reminder" list...
Off to the grocery store in the morning...
Perhaps I should make some squares as well...hmmmmmmmmm..

      Cheers!

    1. Nice day! I saw a little 6 inch pan yesterday while I was out and thought of you. I was looking for an 8" springform. I only have a 9". Want to make a cheesecake for Christmas.

    2. I like the little 6 inch pans for gifts or for the ones I'm trying out. Just enough for everyone to taste but not so much left over that you're eating it for a week after :) someone ordered a 10 inch white chocolate truffle one for Saturday :)

    3. Oooh...that's a nice big order! Wow! Good for you!

I looked through your cheesecakes on your blog the other day. I think I'm going to make your
basic one and add a raspberry marbeled top to it. Graham cracker crust. yum. :)

    4. yes I was "tickled"! :)

You picked a good one, that red raspberry one is one of our favorites! Can't go wrong there! Good luck and hope you enjoy it!

    5. I found another recipe that used seedless raspberry jam, warmed enough to pour and I think I'll use that instead of the fresh ones. At least that will save me some time. It should be beautiful!
