I had a flock of these at my house this morning too! There were so many, you couldn't the ground under the bird feeders and they were eating anything and everything!
I have that many birds or more at my feeders and I would like to know why your wooden feeder is not full of bird poop? I would like to paint mine but I can't get thru the doo.
I don't know! I guess they don't sit above the feeder! ha. They are always in it or below it, so the roof stays clean! But I think I need a second one hanging there so I don't have to fill them so often!
I saw 9. By the way, it's a great photo. It reminds me of one of my childhood friends, Bob. He took a .22 shell and placed it on top of a piece of 2 by 4. He baited the ground immediately in front of it with stale bread crumbs. Then he sat back (as well did I) with a daisy BB gun. When some doves landed, he shot the BB gun, hit the .22 shell, which hot a dove in the neck. Miracle shot that was never repeated albeit tried. lol
I counted nine, but agree...they kept moving! Especially tough to count with all those colorful leaves on the ground. Another awesome photo Betsy. Thanks for sharing the smiles.
I see 10! Neat pic!
ReplyDeleteThat's right...or you could count that tail on the right side. :)
DeleteI see the tail now too. It's such a fun picture. Could be a puzzle or one of those find it pictures in magazines. :)
DeleteAt least I didn't ask for the number of leaves, right? ha.
DeleteNow that would be a task!
DeleteI see 10...maybe 11, the tail on the right!!
ReplyDeleteTake cover Betsy...snow, wind and rains headed your way...and my way..
Hope the cottage is OK....
Enjoy your evening..
Cheers!

ReplyDeleteoh, but you did great anyway! Aren't they hidden? Amazing!
DeleteI first looked at this on my iPhone screen, and I didn't see any birds. Today, on the computer screen, I see what everyone else is. Fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it was way too tiny on your phone! ha.
DeleteEnded up with 10 - but I'm sure they keep moving. Hoping that storm doesn't come your way. God bless.
ReplyDeleteThere are only ten...if you don't count a tail sticking in the photo frame. ha.
DeleteSuch a fum photo, Betsy! Every time I look at it I see more and more birds!
ReplyDeleteI should have waited until today to take the picture...there were twice as many on the ground!
DeleteDid everyone already say this would make a great puzzle?
ReplyDeleteNo, but it really would! All the pieces would look the same! ha.
