The cucumbers and zucchini are long past,
but I'm still picking tomatoes!

  1. they look yummy!

Anthony and Serena picked some hot and sweet peppers for me today. I need to go out there and "face the garden" and put it to bed for the winter. Can't wait till the leaves fall off trees and the snow falls from the sky!:)

    1. I do, too! I was wondering if it was too cool for them to ripen. I guess in another week we'll know. I haven't make fried green tomatoes yet, though, so that will be fun!

    1. None of the boys like tomatoes! Not even Taylor! How did that happen!? Although, alex does love them cooked in things, and salsa.

  11. There's nothing better than tomatoes fresh from the garden. I still have a few ripening and my husband just reminded me a few days ago that we haven't had fried green tomatoes yet ... we have to have them at least once a year! I'll definitely miss the tomatoes when they're done ... the store-bought ones just don't compare.

  12. Yum! I'm wondering what marvelous dish you are going to create with these beauties. I am such a fan of your pizza with roasted tomatoes. Maybe you'll just serve them raw, pop them in your mouths right out of the bowl.

    1. just in a salad...nice and easy and fresh! But I will have to make that pizza again this weekend! We're addicted! I also chopped up those roasted tomatoes and stirred them into spaghetti squash with parmesan. That was very yummy!

  22. You just cannot beat homegrown tomatoes. And the best thing is they are free. Your's look delicious and yummy for the tummy. I hope your frost holds off for at least another month or so.

    God bless.

  23. Same for me here! Everything has finished for the year except for my tomatoes AND Okra! Still picking! I've been cleaning out the other beds though, and have struggled to NOT go ahead and pull up these plants too. It won't be much longer though.
