Alex, waiting to leave for school Thursday morning.
He crosses his fingers when he's anxious.
I hadn't seen him do this since the day they
had to get blood drawn. Melts this mom's heart.
Not sure what the problem was, but I was driving them to school that morning,
which is not our normal routine of The Mister dropping them off
on his way to work. And we were ready a few minutes early.
It might have just been that little change in plans, and having
to wait to leave, that left him worrying.
But we went on to school and he had a good day. :)
♥
These cards are now in the shop, sold individually!
such a heart warming post, sometimes its hard being a kid isn't it. beautiful cards as well!
ReplyDeleteYes, and usually the situation shows me what is wrong, but this time I had to think a while. I think it was that little routine change. :)
DeleteAnd only a mom would have seen that little gesture, so glad his day went well.
ReplyDeleteI suppose you are right. I don't even think a dad would have noticed. ha. Well, not the one here, that is. lol....
Deleteaahh he is so cute!:) Im glad he is OK! Love his hands LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, he was fine. :)
DeleteThey pull at our heart strings sometimes. Wish we could ease all their anxiety. Kids lives are so stressful these days. Give them a hug from us.
ReplyDeleteLove the nest in the boot!
a hug...I will do that! :)
DeleteLook Betsy Cat and me at the same time LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, you were! ha.
DeleteYou know not to mess with the routine
ReplyDeleteThat is just mean
Have to keep things all right
Or thing fingers will take flight
At least he doesn't shun
And throw up the middle one haha
Should be the there
DeleteBlame it on the cat in my hair
actually you mean 'their'
Deletesays your friendly editor.
lol...
So nitpicky you are
DeleteNow bad grammar at your bar haha
nice...i love the boot card...and aww....i am glad that regardless of what it was that they had a good day...
ReplyDeleteyes, he ended up being fine as soon as we left for school. :)
DeleteAhhh, that is so sweet and dear. Maybe we all need to be crossing our fingers the way the world is going!
ReplyDeleteI love your art work, so detailed and just lovely! ;)
yes, if it would help, I'd certainly try crossing my fingers...and toes! ha.
DeleteI am not sure that I would have taken him to school. I think I would have taken him out for a nice ice cream cone and then taken him to school or maybe not. But then I am a woose and always give in to the kids, oh okay, not always but then sometimes I just cannot help but give in and this would be one of them. You are such a good Mom. And nice cards by the way.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
ice cream and then to school late...that would have messed with the routine even more! haha. He would have been very anxious if I dropped off his brothers and drove him some place else. He probably would have thought he was going to the doctor or something! ha. He was fine as soon as he put on his backpack and we got going. But that little finger cross is always sweet, I think. :)
DeleteHow precious! It tugs at me soooo much when I see a child "worrying" about something. Especially when we have no clue what's troubling them. Us parents want to fix everything, don't we!?!
ReplyDeleteyes, there sure is enough stuff to worry about when we are adults. Kids should be carefree as long as possible, in my opinion!
DeleteBack from my trip, and so nice to come back to my blog friends. A simple gesture, but such meaning, and a mom who sees, and understands. So glad it turned into a good day.
ReplyDeleteThe cards on beautiful, and there are a couple there I'd never seen!
welcome back, Wanda! Hope you had fun! We moms just have a sixth sense, don't we? :)
DeleteAww, glad Alex had a good day even though he was anxious in the morning. Hate to see our kids anxious. Davin was so upset the first day of school and all I could think about was how I was going to let him drop out because I couldn't do that every day. Thankfully it only lasted one day;-)
ReplyDeleteAw, I know how you feel. I can't relax or do anything when I'm worried about my boys! Glad Davin settled into school after the first day!
DeleteHi Betsy .. well I'm glad his day turned out good - did he not realise you were taking a photo of his crossed fingers? Interesting ..
ReplyDeleteLove the cards - you're so clever .. cheers Hilary
Oh, he saw me taking the picture, but he didn't care. :)
DeleteDoes your hubby realize how great a mom your are? I sure hope so! You're one heck of a special person.
ReplyDeleteHey Mister, time to wine and dine the Miss's!!!
p.s Beautiful card art.
Aw, you certainly have made my day. :) thank you! Yes, I'm sure he has noticed at some point but I think he needs to be reminded! ha.
DeleteI must say Betsy...
ReplyDeleteI think this is one of my favorite posts...
So sweet and knowing of you..
Cheers!
Linda :o)
