- Did a little cloud watching.
- Did 5 loads of laundry.
- Dusted my desk and finished a stack of paperwork.
- Was surprised when mom to our second litter helped herself through a door that was left open a crack. She did eventually come into the kitchen and ate from Jack's bowl! She looks pregnant, but then, she always looks that way to me and I haven't seen a new litter. Maybe this is the beginning of a friendship and I can get her spayed. I did consider the names you all offered, like Blackie and Pepper, but ended up calling her Velvet since that's what her coat looks like. But boy, does she hiss! I think she'd take off my hand if I tried to touch her. lol.
- Set packages out for the mail lady to pick up. Etsy is going well!
- Enjoyed coffee and an email chat with the boys' teacher. They are off to a great start. :)
- Made Black Bean Salad with fresh tomatoes, cilantro and cumin. This will taste great with burgers on the grill tonight. Recipe is HERE.
- Swept the front porch.
- Took a pitcher of seed out to the feeder.
- Watched Jack play with two of his favorite toys...my sandals and Marmalade's tail. :)
- Made a new wreath for the front door. Pulled the swags of vines and berries out of the auction trash last week. ha.
- Cleaned up this old picnic basket and put it in my shop. Oil cloth lining and sweet shape...isn't it cute?
I hope you had a lovely day, too!
♥
I think that salad looks so good. You have the most interesting days.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Okay gonna go put a big star on the calendar for one of the few times I get to be first. LOL
DeleteAnd I will pray Mama cat befriends you enough so she can get fixed. She will be so blessed if this happens.
GBA
haha,..HEY! You're first! :)
DeleteYes, it would be great if I could get her fixed. Coming inside was a big first step. She's been hanging around the back porch a bit more lately. All in good time! I hope she isn't pregnant now...I don't need another litter! lol.....
Oh the salad looks scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad school has started well for the boys and that you are enjoying your solitude :) a few more days for me till I get to enjoy it too :)

Yes, just a few more days! It's been such lovely days, too! Do you have plans or are you just going to do your normal stuff and enjoy doing it in the quiet? I have day of running errands tomorrow, but that will be fun to do alone, too! haha...no watching for the yellow ball cap! :)
DeleteWell I've been pondering all the options. haha, probably just bask in silence for a while. :)
DeleteThat is always a good thing! I couldn't believe how quiet Tuesday was here! I could hear the clocks ticking! lol! I'll probably have another batch of salsa to make next week. And this weather is so lovely....I'm just enjoying having the windows open!
DeleteBetsy, I just love your Wednesday postings! The photo collage is fantastic and has inspired me as well to give those a try here and there! And watch out for more kittens!
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks, Don! The collages are a lot of fun to do....they some how make the ordinary pictures look a little more special! :)

Maybe she'll stay and make ten
Then only 2 off from that other den haha
I was surprised, too! I walked in the room and there she was
Deletelooking all big-eyed just because
she probably thought I'd shoo her out

She looks like she'd take off my hand, though

From a rather pissed off kitty hahaha

I always enjoy Wednesday's at your house, you have a great Etsy and I'm so glad its doing well.
ReplyDeletethanks laurie...and yes, etsy has been a lot of fun! Still trying to get my art there...soon though!
Deletehaha jack is awesome....reminds me of our kitten...she likes to chase the older ones tail....which does not go over well...a funny look on that mama cats face...
ReplyDeleteMarmy and the others are extraordinarily patient with him. I'm amazed. lol. Glad you had a nice birthday, too!
DeleteLoved your day, and your visit! I have been sewing all day long for a new baby grandson due in November...fun day but my back aches! Thanks for sharing your very nice day! :)
ReplyDeleteaw...I looked for the 'belly' in your photos but didn't see her. :)
DeleteHum, I did very little...recovering from my road trip to Michigan. I'm glad you included the recipe for the black bean salad...I need to try something new. Glad the etsy shop is going well!
ReplyDeleteroad trip....well then you have laundry! ha. Well, not as much as if we had gone, but still. :) Hope you try the salad...it's yummy!
DeleteWell, I am still recovering from jet lag after a flight from Toronto to Manila. I am semi okay now, so perhaps it's just "plain" lag?
ReplyDeleteAs for that hissing cat. I befriend/rescue feral cats in the Philippines. My method is to sit outside and provide them a little dish of food. Eventually, even the wildest ones are eating out of my hand and sucking up to me. It usually takes a couple of weeks of patience albeit the one now has taken me 3 weeks. One thing I never do is force anything on them. It works.
plain lag...lol...
DeleteYes, it does take time! The older ones are the least trusting but she has seen me care for her kids for a year. It's a great first step. I'll keep being friendly. Food is a great bribe. I agree with the forcing...it has to be on their terms. The thing is, there was food on the porch, so she didn't have to come in for that! I'm glad she was either curious or felt comfortable enough to do it. :)
A full day !
ReplyDeleteI love such pictures...
Best regards,
Pierre
aw, thanks pierre....I owe you a visit or ten...will be there soon!
DeleteJack is so settling in nicely!! Awww Velvet is adorable - hope she's ok! Great news about your Etsy shop! Take care
ReplyDeletex
Jack is doing great...we've had him a month already!
DeleteHi Betsy - life is full for you - but love that you get everything done and then some .. that salad looks delicious .. I think I'll give it a go before summer is over ..
ReplyDeleteCheers - Hilary
It IS full...but never boring. haha
DeleteHow different our days were! I, as you know, chased children. To some my accomplishments would mean little, but I was given a great gift. My grandkids were here for 5 hours!!! My heart is feeling fuller and lighter at the same time. (If only you could see the pictures I put on Facebook!)
ReplyDeletePS. I thought that black kitty had whole ears. :)
I was so happy for you when I heard about your day yesterday! :)
DeleteYes, whole ears! haha...but her kids have whole ears, too since they were the second round taken to be fixed and I knew better! And when I eventually take her in, she shall get to keep both of her beautiful ears, too! lol. Geesh! :)
You have the most wonderful Wednesdays. I'm sure the fact that everyone is back in school helps. :) Love the wreath on your door.
