- Was put on hold this morning while on the phone and as I sat at my desk I thought my little window sill tree needed a bird. So I drew a tiny one, colored it and glued a stray parakeet feather to it's tail. lol! How cute! Now, is that multi-tasking, recycling...or both? (or maybe it's just crazy?) :)
- Walked around in the backyard, and saw the strawberries are coming along!
- Had a few little garden helpers with me. Five to be exact! ha. This one is Oreo.
- Cleaned out the utensil drawer in the kitchen. Ran everything through the dishwasher, wiped out the drawer and reorganized it. Better!
- Did the same for the silverware drawer. How do all those crumbs get in the bottom? It's like someone ate a piece of toast over the open drawer! Vacuumed out the empty drawer, sharpened the knives and reorganized. MUCH better. ha.
- Noted how beautiful the sun was shining on a bowl of strawberries in the kitchen sink.
- The yellow iris is looking very beautiful!
- I had rescued some vintage tea cups from the auction trash last week. They didn't have saucers, so I washed them up and decided to use them as scoops in my canisters. They measure about 1 cup, so that works very well!
- Had to laugh at this....an unusual feeding time inside. Almost all the cats nibbled on some deli ham. And don't worry...I mopped the floor when they were done. lol.
- Found Nugget napping in a quiet corner. Brushed him (he's shedding something awful!) and watched him enjoy some pansies and dandelions from the yard.
- Made a chicken and veggie pie for supper. Scratch crust, sauce made with cream. Yum. Perfect comfort food. And the best part...it's big enough for leftovers tomorrow! :) It must have been really good because I caught Alex licking his plate. hahaha.
Did you have a good day?
What did you do?
♥
You sure were busy...
ReplyDeleteI went to fitness..

I'm not sorry at all! I love your list! What a fun, productive day! I need to make that bread~ ha.
DeleteI put my reply in the wrong place!!!!
DeleteJust wanted to say your pot pie looks delish!!
oh, thanks...I make that a lot because it's one of our favorites! And I like to make it big so we have leftovers. ha.
DeleteNumber 11 sure looks good!!! ;) The kitties in number 9 just make me smile. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteIt was good. :) The Mister said the sauce was especially good and asked if I did something different to it. Well, I ran out of milk, so used heavy cream. Yep...that will make it better! lol....
DeleteI love seeing Nugget in the corner! Too sweet! I taught a class of 2nd graders, did 3 loads of laundry, walked on the farm, checked on my bee hive, cooked hamburgers for supper...etc!
ReplyDeleteah, the never ending laundry! But you're like me...do a little every day so the pile doesn't reach the ceiling by the weekend. lol.

DeleteYou have a nice day Betsy!
ReplyDeleteSome parts were nice...some parts hard. haha...like a typical day. :)
DeleteHow are you, dear gloria...tired of posting recipes for a while?
DeleteIm not tired dear really I enjoy cook and make my posts but today wasa terrible and sorrow day, I was making a post and I feel I cannot be able to make, So I change my post and make that you see, many sorrows dear, pray for me:)

Love the one of Esperanza's eyes! lol...that is such a good picture!
im sad better lol
Deleteyes is ditto with a friend and yes esperanza is so cute but make me cry so much :) x
I so glad you are better :)
Deletethanks i wanna say im sad but better:)
DeleteSurprised poor Nugget found a quiet corner with all those cats
ReplyDeleteRunning about and kicking up the mats..haha
Quite the feeding time
Almost the cat queen in your prime
But you need another 6 or so to beat that other place
Nice job with the bird and feather was well as you wait for your phone case
That can be so annoying on hold waiting and waiting and waiting
Then they wonder why you sit there hating..haha
Sometimes he needs a bit of quiet
Deletewhen this place sounds like a riot!
Other times he loves the chaos
and joins right in, surprising all of us.
I think I'm only down to eight
as Mustache never came back to this place.
No new litter has ever shown
so maybe they decided to leave me alone!
Can't believe I'm almost disappointed
I think I need my head examined.
hahaha.
LOL yes I think mayeb you do
DeleteBut now that they are all snip snip hopefully not more come into view
But you can't have the crown then
At your den
And don't blame him for the quiet at all
With all the kitties running up and down the hall..haha
yes, nanny can keep the crown
Deleteunless the next litter comes around
hasn't been born yet though
but mom is getting big as they are in tow
lol.
running down the hall does sound like a stampede
to get out of the way you must take heed!
haha.
Oh Betsy, it was a wonderful day! Baby boy chose this day to arrive! He is so sweet, can't wait for Carrie to share pics with everyone!
ReplyDeleteREALLY???? Aw...how wonderful. Glad everyone is doing well. You must be so excited. yay!
DeleteI did a lot of laundry. Made supper for a family from our church. Vacuumed a little. Changed our sheets. Enjoyed the sunshine. I like the line of kitties eating on your floor. :)
ReplyDeleteNice day! I need to change our sheets tomorrow.
DeleteI vacuumed our family room twice....it was one of those days. lol.
Helped judge 20 cheesecakes at the High School Home Ec Contest, fed lunch to and entertained 18 second and third graders (with help) :) did the laundry in between everything, and had our small group from church over tonight. I'm ready for a quiet day tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow...being a judge sounds like a lot of fun! You had a very busy day!
Deletemmm dinner sounds great actually....love some pot pie...or meat pie...or any old thing in pie....smiles....kinda like cats eating deli ham off the kitchen floor you know...smiles.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA..yep, it's all just kinda homey, isn't it? Comfort food and critters eating off the floor. lol....
DeleteSo are your chicken / veggie pies available for mail order? I could definitely go for about ten of those right about now. <3
ReplyDeleteno, but you're welcome to come for dinner tomorrow when we serve it again. :)
DeleteAt first glance I thought your #2 was a sunny side up egg! LOL It does look like one, right? haha
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes, it does! And it looks yummy, too! haha...let's make toast!
DeleteCinnamon French Toast??? Yes..I'm still waiting ;) hahaha
DeleteHAHA...absolutely! I need to make that just so I can post it for you! yummy!
DeleteWhat IS it with crumbs in the drawers?
ReplyDeletehaha...I knew I wasn't the only one! But it is a mystery! Crazy! There were enough crumbs in there to make a piece of bread! lol. Much cleaner now! :)
DeleteYour day looked very full, Betsy! I love the photo of the cats eating all in a row. The chicken dish looked delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'm having lots of company coming next week --pre wedding guests--so today was spent cleaning up, running errands and planning menus.
Oh, I'm sure you house will become more busy in he coming days! How fun! :)
DeleteThese are my favorite posts of yours...a real glimpse into your busy day. The cat picture is just too funny. I give Nugget a lot of credit, he seems a bit outnumbered!
ReplyDeleteI think they are my favorite post, too! Just enjoying the ordinary!
DeleteHi Betsy .. talk about a miscellany of jobs - your industry always amazes me and the fact you keep your house in some semblance of apparently mirror like order! Sorry to hear about Moustache .. for some reason he was my litle favourite .. but Oreo's picture is just great and the line of feeders .. with the orange peninsula .. is wonderful. Such fun to see - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeletehaha...yes, Marmy is the odd man out there, isn't he? You know, Mustache was my favorite, too! Those toms terrified him. They aren't around any more and I sure wish he would return. :(
DeleteThe picture of the kittens eating is so cute. You truly have a zoo at your house and my heart just goes out to Nugget for knowing that he needs to stay safe when the house is full. And the bird on the tree was such a good idea and your bird talent increases each time. My crumbs get into the silverware drawer because it is under the cutting board that slides out of the cabinets. It is the worst place for the drawer. If my kitchen was larger then I would change it. Big sigh!
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Nugget does find a quiet corner to sleep..but...most of the time he is right in the middle of the group! He loves those cats..they chase and play hide and seek! It's adorable!
DeleteKitty helpers, kitties eating in a row, Nugget enjoying a good brush!! Oh what bliss! Yay! Take care
ReplyDeletex
I really wanted to take the vacuum to his fur, but I know he couldn't go for that! hahaha!
DeleteI wasn't productive at all. Instead, we took off for Shakespeare in Chicago and dinner. Wish I had leftover "pie"--especially with heavy cream sauce!!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Shakespeare in Chicago?? Well, now..that is just TOO fun! I'm jealous! You can putter around the kitchen utensils another day! lol!
DeleteThat picture of Oreo is way too cute! Oh dear!
Deleteisn't she sweet? She still runs if I try to pet her, but she likes to see what I'm up to! :)
Deletethat's wonderful--you are so organized, and re: no. 9--no, I was not worried--I would not dream that you woudl NOT clean up afterwards! Of course you would. Had to laugh at the toast comment--JUST LIKE my keyboard. It's disgusting really. But, then again, I actually do eat toast with marmalade over my keyboard all the time. It's nasty. lol.
ReplyDeleteMan, you have A LOT of living being in your home. Well, I suppose i don;t need to write, "living"--it's ot like you're going to have dead ones stacked up, now is it? lol
Err...window sill tree? Not heard of that before! yes, cute indeed.
Organization ~ it's a survival technique in this house. :)
DeleteToast and marmalade...you know, I knew that. :)
No dead things stacked in the corners here...lol...oh, I laughed out loud at that. No worries...lots of live things, though. And would you believe I'm itching to get my aquarium up and running again? haha.
It's just a little fake tree in my window sill. Even cuter now with a lil bird in it. :)
Fun collage! I particularly enjoyed the pic of the kitties feasting on deli ham. Lucky cats!
ReplyDeletethey did think it was a feast! haha. :)
DeleteI have an Oreo garden helper too. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, you do! In fact, I think I got the name idea from you!
DeleteBETSY! OH MY! All those kitties in your kitchen!?? So cute seeing them lined up that way!
ReplyDeleteLoved all your doings!
haha I know! And can you believe 2 are missing? lol. Every once in a while I turn to The Mister and say, "How did we get all these cats???" :) But you know, he likes them, too!
DeleteHmm, I suppose you might have reason to suspect someone eats toast over an open drawer - but the same thing happens here (ie: crumbs) and there's only me here... A mystery, just like where do all the odd socks hide.
ReplyDeletehaha...now if the odd socks would just show up in the drawer, I'd be happy! lol....
DeleteLOL....Drawing the bird while being put on hold.
ReplyDeleteLove trying to figure out what you did by the pictures.
With all the cats...you should never have a mice problem.
Jealous of your flowers...and anything garden wise. S-L-O-W-L-Y ...but surely we will have something to look at and veggies from the garden. 8~)
Take care,
Nancy
no mice...that is right! One of the perks! lol.
DeleteI still have to get my veggie garden in...but it's still early for Ohio to do that.
And the flowers are not annuals...or I wouldn't have any either! lol.
Cleaning kitchen drawers: It's a dirty job that somebody's gotta do. You're elected. Or we could have Mike Rowe do it instead. One day I broke down and bought separation trays for the utensil drawer. Yea, it took me about 8 years to finally do it probably because I hesitate to buy something like that if the hubby will look down his nose at it. But I'm learning to just do what I think needs to be done.
ReplyDeleteYou have 7 cats? seven?? Imagine me with 7 weenie dogs...I would be nuts. Cats are fairly independent but even one weenie dog demands to have her love meter filled to the brim on a daily bases.
Oh, I like the silverware organized. How did you find anything without the dividers? lol. :)
DeleteActually 9 cats...kittens from 2 litters of neighborhood feral cats. They adopted us last year and have never left. We've had them fixed and gotten their shots. One has been MIA for a few weeks now, so I guess we have 8. They are usually outside, too. :)
A love meter? haha...that's how our Whiskers is...and boy, does she demand attention! ha.
I bought them at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Deletehttp://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=126988
I'm so surprised the little Cardinal has made her nest within paw-shot of the kitties, she's a daring girl !
ReplyDeleteA cute idea for the vintage cups.
Methinks you have adopted all the kitties at this point, and they are no longer feral it seems.
Sweet Nugget.
{Drool on the chicken pot pie }
Been having trouble commenting since they forced the new Blogger on us, I hope this one goes through ;)
Now off to catch up.
Hugs,
~Jo
Yes, I'm thinking these kitties are here to stay. Although they are free to go....but why would they? lol. :) I still smile every day when I do a head count and have 8 of them here. Although I do worry about Mustache and wonder if he's alright.
DeleteLooks like a fun, productive day.
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me to get up and take care of some of these very same things that need done in my house. The bathroom drawers have enough hair in them for a wig!
