Scarecrow Cat

Ha ha ha.  Why are you making that face at my newest cat?  lol.
I was saying last night that I found something else fun in the auction trash yesterday,
but I needed some daylight for a good photograph.
Looks like somebody's grandpa used his jigsaw to make this cat.
He's rough cut, has marble eyes, and a bushy tail.
I think he just had to come home to the zoo with nine cats! ha ha.

The marble eyes have the best effect with sun shining through them.
And the way the old black paint is especially worn around them, I'm thinking the
kids or grand kids liked rolling them around in their sockets! ha ha.
I love that he's naturally distressed with years of weathering.
I'm thinking he was used in the garden to keep away the birds.
Or maybe by the bird feeder to keep away the squirrels?

I sprayed him off in the kitchen sink and he's drip drying on a rag in the window.
Yes, he looks right at home here!

See what I mean?  Right at home!

You know, maybe I should leave him right there to scare off
Mr. Neighbor Man, in case he wanders too close to this window again!

    1. I need to look at it from outside and see if the eyes still look glowy that way. haha. Actually, he's not going to stay there...maybe he'll go on the back porch where the cats actually live! :)

  4. hahaha that is awesome. What a find. You know when I was in the fraternity at school, we found a little pug cutout and we made the pledges carry it around with them, and would have to introduce him to any one they came across lol Totally forgot all about that. The real cat in the sink is a good catch, I like how you were able to put in the dialogue box, how'd you do that, it's very neat

  5. LOL should have guessed it would be another cat
That you added to your mat
And it fits right in indeed
As Whiskers is no lady and doesn't take heed
    Going up for a drink
    Right in the sink
    Orlin does that too
    But what doesn't he do

    1. haha I know, but when the cats act like that
I tell them to have more class!
They don't need to search for scraps
better manners is where it's at!
At least they don't drink from the loo!
We had a cat that used to!
These cats are scared a bit
and when it flushes, run from it.
I think Whiskers is a crazy lassie.
It's Grey Girl that acts all classy.
Why can't The Zoo raise refined felines?
That would be much more sublime!
      lol. :)

    2. Maybe Cassie will have to show them how
As she is quite prissy as she takes a bow
      Yeah drinking from the loo
      Is just plain eww
      Orlin would jump right in
If I left it open at my bin
And yeah you rhymed in your day thing
Guess you just want to let the rhymes fling

    3. Cassies School of Classy Cats? :)

      I rhyme all the time!
It's you I blame for my rhyme!

    1. yeah, one time I was soaking my feet in the kitchen sink before a pedicure and he didn't know I was right in the window and wandered a little too close and then our eyes met! hahahaha. He scooted back to his yard really fast. It's become a joke now...not that he knows, of course.

    2. you need to rig up a garden hose that you can control from the inside! haha

    1. That's so true....he's well behaved and doesn't require a lot of attention. :) So unlike a real cat!

      Delete
    2. If I behave, can I sit in one of your windows?

      Delete
    3. I'm thinking that would solve the problem with Mr Neighbor Man for good. lol.....they might even move! ....ducks....lol...

      Delete
    4. I'll bet they would, especially after seeing me in my Batman costume, doing the roof patrol along with Marmy!

      Delete
    5. haha...so I'd have a scarecrow cat and a scarecrow fox. You might make the newspapers if you're on the roof with Marmy. lol.

      Delete
    6. I think the Batman costume alone would get me in the papers, doll.

      Delete
    7. Especially if you sing while you're up there! ha. Are you going to climb up the wisteria like the cats do? Or how will you get up there? Does the batmobile have a ladder or something? catapolt spring? lol.

      Delete
    8. A grappling hook on the end of a bat-rope will do the trick!

      Delete
    9. You better have some sort of window seat for Batman---otherwise he is going to be rather uncomfortable sitting in your window. Oh, and if he makes the paper--I'd like a clipping of the article for my scrapbook. :)

      Delete
    10. I'd like a nice, cushiony ringside seat for when my doll soaks her feet in the sink!

      Delete
    11. I promise...I'll even take photos myself for the blog! "Batman Sits In Wonder Woman's Window" hahaha ...or walks on her roof...or something like that. hahaha.

      Delete
    12. Lovin' the thought of you wearing that outfit...

      Delete
    13. Perhaps you better not make it to cushy of a cushion or he will become a permanent fixture in your window. :)

      Delete
    14. hahaha you guys are like therapy for my poor worn out brain. :)

      Delete
    15. haha...well, it's a double sink....you could have the other side and we could face each other and drink coffee. wow...the neighbor man wouldn't be able to resist walking over for a closer look, rubbing his eyes and swearing he saw batman through my window screen, sitting on the kitchen counter. LOL!

      Delete
    16. Well, if I wore my Zorro costume instead, he'd be looking at me, and my horse!

But I like the idea of staring at you while I sip my coffee, brown eyes...

      Delete
    17. Would you soak your feet also Zorro?

      Delete
    18. Good point, Rebecca...it would make it difficult to do dishes. and how would Whiskers get a drink? lol...

Zorro, huh? Yeah, the horse could stand outside the window. :)

therapy, Rebecca? Mr. Neighbor Man would check into therapy if he started seeing super heros sitting on my sink! hahaha.

      Delete
    19. soak his feet? Hmm...well I do have two sinks. I would insist he use a separate one. I do have my standards, you know. haha.

      Delete
    20. Zorro's feet need soaking, too, but not necessarily before a pedicure, like Betsy's! They get hot, running around in the desert, and all...

      Delete
    21. Oh, I don't know--he sounds pretty adventurous to me--he lets it all hang out--on the clothesline that is. :)

      Delete
    22. haha...oh, that's true he certainly does do that.

I have a pain in my side from laugh too hard....ha!

  17. He's PURRRFECT for your window, Betsy!! You know when I saw the little photo in my sidebar I thought it was a mother cat nursing four kittens and I laughed because you had another brood! But, then when I saw the larger photo I chuckled even more... because it is purrrrfect! ;) blessings ~ tanna

    2. I love your marble-eyed cat -- I think he'd look great on your porch or in your garden. And seeing Whiskers in the sink made me laugh. My cat Sammy drinks out of the bathtub spigot several times a day -- he's got me trained to follow him in there and turn it on and off for him. Now if I could only teach him to do it himself ... lol!

    3. We had a cat years ago that preferred to drink from the bathroom sink. We had to fill it for him before we left for work! haha. Meanwhile, the water bowl remained untouched. Sometimes he's lay on the counter and wait for us...instead of just drinking from the bowl! Silly.
