Ha ha ha. Why are you making that face at my newest cat? lol.
I was saying last night that I found something else fun in the auction trash yesterday,
but I needed some daylight for a good photograph.
Looks like somebody's grandpa used his jigsaw to make this cat.
He's rough cut, has marble eyes, and a bushy tail.
I think he just had to come home to the zoo with nine cats! ha ha.
The marble eyes have the best effect with sun shining through them.
And the way the old black paint is especially worn around them, I'm thinking the
kids or grand kids liked rolling them around in their sockets! ha ha.
I love that he's naturally distressed with years of weathering.
I'm thinking he was used in the garden to keep away the birds.
Or maybe by the bird feeder to keep away the squirrels?
I sprayed him off in the kitchen sink and he's drip drying on a rag in the window.
Yes, he looks right at home here!
See what I mean? Right at home!
You know, maybe I should leave him right there to scare off
Mr. Neighbor Man, in case he wanders too close to this window again!
♥
Oh.......Lol
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny!
I wonder what the other cats will think of him.
Nancy
They don't seem to care! haha. But I keep seeing him out of the corner of my eye and think a cat is there and I'm ready to shoo him down! haha.
Deletegood Love, idea, he 's a beauty! I love the one with the whiskers too.
ReplyDeleteI have started a new blog, I would love if you would visit me and join as a follower, I have lost all my followers, I'm starting brand new, its called In my dreams I see, if you click on my name on this comment it takes you to my profile then the blog is listed there, have great weekend!I had to join your blog again also!
thanks, laurie!...Geesh, I thought you dropped of the face of bloggy earth! Thanks for letting me know! I'll come sign up for sure! Can't live without you or your lovely paintings!
DeleteOh those eyes....how clever that Grandpa was to use marbles. What's one more cat in a happy family, huh?
ReplyDeleteBetsy, you are so much fun.
I need to look at it from outside and see if the eyes still look glowy that way. haha. Actually, he's not going to stay there...maybe he'll go on the back porch where the cats actually live! :)
Deletehahaha that is awesome. What a find. You know when I was in the fraternity at school, we found a little pug cutout and we made the pledges carry it around with them, and would have to introduce him to any one they came across lol Totally forgot all about that. The real cat in the sink is a good catch, I like how you were able to put in the dialogue box, how'd you do that, it's very neat
ReplyDeleteOh, what a fun part of initiation...hahaha. Wonder who has that pug now! The little speech bubble was done with picmonkey.com photo editing...really fun stuff to play around with!
DeleteLOL should have guessed it would be another cat
ReplyDeleteThat you added to your mat
And it fits right in indeed
As Whiskers is no lady and doesn't take heed
Going up for a drink
Right in the sink
Orlin does that too
But what doesn't he do
haha I know, but when the cats act like that
DeleteI tell them to have more class!
They don't need to search for scraps
better manners is where it's at!
At least they don't drink from the loo!
We had a cat that used to!
These cats are scared a bit
and when it flushes, run from it.
I think Whiskers is a crazy lassie.
It's Grey Girl that acts all classy.
Why can't The Zoo raise refined felines?
That would be much more sublime!
lol. :)
Maybe Cassie will have to show them how
DeleteAs she is quite prissy as she takes a bow
Yeah drinking from the loo
Is just plain eww
Orlin would jump right in
If I left it open at my bin
And yeah you rhymed in your day thing
Guess you just want to let the rhymes fling
Cassies School of Classy Cats? :)
DeleteI rhyme all the time!
It's you I blame for my rhyme!
Well Betsy this look...special? Different?you are so funny im sure you were happy when you see in the auction lol!
ReplyDeletehaha...not exactly as nice as a pretty dish, right? lol. I might put it in the garden! :)
DeleteIn the garden is nice i think
DeleteI think so, too! :)
DeleteWhat think the otherd cats of your zoo!?
ReplyDeletenobody paid any attention to old marble eyes! haha.
DeleteI know they are making, they are ignoring him lol
DeleteYes - you really needed this. He fits right in!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it should go on the back porch...a welcome home sign of sorts. lol.
DeleteFinally...a cat the Mister doesn't have to feed :-)
ReplyDeleteso true!
DeleteThat cat is great! A real auction treasure.
ReplyDeleteIf only he could talk, I'd be willing to bet he'd have a lot to say.
I bet he would! I wish I knew a little more about him! It was a widow's estate. I'm guess her husband made it long ago.
Deletehaha i like the effect of the eyes...that is cool...neat find...and perhaps it will scare the neighbor ha...
ReplyDeleteit should at least keep him in his own yard, right? ha.
DeleteHere Kitty, Kitty...
ReplyDeleteI really like (really like) that marbled eyed cat.
I do, too...and he just goes here, don't you think? :)
DeleteGlad you rescued this one. What a character!
ReplyDeleteyes, he is! I wish he could talk!
DeleteCreepy Peeper neighbor?!?! Not cool! Hopefully those crazy eyes will spook him :)
ReplyDeleteyeah, one time I was soaking my feet in the kitchen sink before a pedicure and he didn't know I was right in the window and wandered a little too close and then our eyes met! hahahaha. He scooted back to his yard really fast. It's become a joke now...not that he knows, of course.
Deleteyou need to rig up a garden hose that you can control from the inside! haha
DeleteWell, I like him. And at least you don't have to feed this one, or worry about neutering him!
ReplyDeleteThat's so true....he's well behaved and doesn't require a lot of attention. :) So unlike a real cat!
DeleteIf I behave, can I sit in one of your windows?
DeleteI'm thinking that would solve the problem with Mr Neighbor Man for good. lol.....they might even move! ....ducks....lol...
DeleteI'll bet they would, especially after seeing me in my Batman costume, doing the roof patrol along with Marmy!
Deletehaha...so I'd have a scarecrow cat and a scarecrow fox. You might make the newspapers if you're on the roof with Marmy. lol.
DeleteI think the Batman costume alone would get me in the papers, doll.
DeleteEspecially if you sing while you're up there! ha. Are you going to climb up the wisteria like the cats do? Or how will you get up there? Does the batmobile have a ladder or something? catapolt spring? lol.
DeleteA grappling hook on the end of a bat-rope will do the trick!
DeleteYou better have some sort of window seat for Batman---otherwise he is going to be rather uncomfortable sitting in your window. Oh, and if he makes the paper--I'd like a clipping of the article for my scrapbook. :)
DeleteI'd like a nice, cushiony ringside seat for when my doll soaks her feet in the sink!
DeleteI promise...I'll even take photos myself for the blog! "Batman Sits In Wonder Woman's Window" hahaha ...or walks on her roof...or something like that. hahaha.
DeleteLovin' the thought of you wearing that outfit...
DeletePerhaps you better not make it to cushy of a cushion or he will become a permanent fixture in your window. :)
Deletehahaha you guys are like therapy for my poor worn out brain. :)
Deletehaha...well, it's a double sink....you could have the other side and we could face each other and drink coffee. wow...the neighbor man wouldn't be able to resist walking over for a closer look, rubbing his eyes and swearing he saw batman through my window screen, sitting on the kitchen counter. LOL!
DeleteWell, if I wore my Zorro costume instead, he'd be looking at me, and my horse!
DeleteBut I like the idea of staring at you while I sip my coffee, brown eyes...
Would you soak your feet also Zorro?
DeleteGood point, Rebecca...it would make it difficult to do dishes. and how would Whiskers get a drink? lol...
DeleteZorro, huh? Yeah, the horse could stand outside the window. :)
therapy, Rebecca? Mr. Neighbor Man would check into therapy if he started seeing super heros sitting on my sink! hahaha.
soak his feet? Hmm...well I do have two sinks. I would insist he use a separate one. I do have my standards, you know. haha.
DeleteZorro's feet need soaking, too, but not necessarily before a pedicure, like Betsy's! They get hot, running around in the desert, and all...
DeleteOh, I don't know--he sounds pretty adventurous to me--he lets it all hang out--on the clothesline that is. :)
Deletehaha...oh, that's true he certainly does do that.
DeleteI have a pain in my side from laugh too hard....ha!
why sure, since you asked so nicely. I could use some fashion, too! haha.
ReplyDeleteHe's PURRRFECT for your window, Betsy!! You know when I saw the little photo in my sidebar I thought it was a mother cat nursing four kittens and I laughed because you had another brood! But, then when I saw the larger photo I chuckled even more... because it is purrrrfect! ;) blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeletehaha...no! Although there are two new litters in the neighborhood that I haven't seen yet! One of the moms was here to eat and drink last night but she was alone!
DeleteI love your marble-eyed cat -- I think he'd look great on your porch or in your garden. And seeing Whiskers in the sink made me laugh. My cat Sammy drinks out of the bathtub spigot several times a day -- he's got me trained to follow him in there and turn it on and off for him. Now if I could only teach him to do it himself ... lol!
DeleteWe had a cat years ago that preferred to drink from the bathroom sink. We had to fill it for him before we left for work! haha. Meanwhile, the water bowl remained untouched. Sometimes he's lay on the counter and wait for us...instead of just drinking from the bowl! Silly.
DeleteI'm loving the little yellow duckling you have at the sink :)
ReplyDeletethanks, Dez. Isn't he cute? he's a tiny nail brush. I use him to clean my hands after I've been working in the garden.
DeleteYou found another treasure, that's for sure. I think he looks perfect resting in your kitchen window.
ReplyDeleteWe keep doing a double take....thinking a cat is on the counter! lol. You should have seen The Mister when he came home from work. He didn't know I had brought it home the day before. hahaha...he thought it was a real cat from a distance.
DeleteLOL That thing is a little scary...I would run if I was your neighbor ;) lol!
ReplyDeleteoh good...maybe it will work on him! lol.
DeleteI love both your cats, fun post!
ReplyDeletehaha.thanks, Denise. They are both pretty cute, aren't they? :)
DeleteHi Betsy, I think your cat is a little scared but funny LOL
ReplyDeleteyes, he's just for fun. I think he'll end up outside. :)
DeleteHow was the wedding? your mr tell somethig ?
DeleteHe only said it was nice! I need a woman to tell me details. lol. :)
Deleteoh is true, Well Im sure yourz cookies were amazing!
DeleteHe did bring one home...so I guess it came full circle! haha.
Deleteyeah I was sure they were nice.
Deleteheres is raining a lot today
It's hot and sunny here and very humid. 90 degrees F! I'm inside in the air conditioning, though...I hate to be hot!
DeleteBetsy Pat doesnt like chocolate? He comment in my blog he doesnt like my recipe LOL because he dont like chocolate
DeleteHe doesn't like any sweets...unless he tried something in NY and changed his mind!
DeleteI dont like hot too. But thought I love rain today make me sad:(
DeleteIs OK for this he made these comments!
DeleteI love rain if I'm inside watching it out the window. :) It always rains on me when I'm running errands, though. haha. I have a tiny umbrella that fits in my purse...just in case! lol.
Deletethat's ok...I'll eat Pat's piece of cake! I thought it looked amazing!
Deleteyes the Pat comments are thes etype LOL
DeleteHe likes coffee now, though, did you see? After drinking only apple juice for years! If he likes coffee, I think he will eventually like chocolate. they are very similar to me.
DeleteI think this travek to NY change his mind LOL is ok he always say when he enjoy something like my pizza or others he said LOL
DeleteHi Betsy - what a great find .. I love it - and I know it'll find the appropriate home with you. The 'old man jigging around with his jigsaw making fun things for his grandkids' will be delighted with your appreciation of it. It's such fun .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHe is absolutely precious! It takes a special kind of person to see the "special" in him and bring him home. I think he does fit into the zoo nicely.
