Girlfriend Julie and I went shopping today and out to lunch.
We stopped in Goodwill and looked around.
This little ceramic quail jumped into my hand and asked me to take her home.
A pair of Ann Taylor shoes and a Banana Republic shirt did the same thing!
How could I refuse? :)
♥
You can't refuse things that jump into your hand! That sweet quail would have came with me had I saw it first!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's day!
Best,
Bonnie
That's right! Usually they jump into my cart, but I wasn't pushing one! haha. :)
DeleteHaha. Funny how that happens.
ReplyDeleteI think the quail wanted to join the live birds you have in your 'zoo'.
I may have to stop in at a Goodwill store. Looks like you found some bargains.
yes, she has joined my zoo. At least she doesnt eat much. lol.
DeleteThings are always jumping in my cart...but it isn't as much fun when it's groceries. I look at them and say, "But look at your outrageous price! Geesh!" hahahaha.....
i love going to the goodwill and yard sales...one up back tomorrow so will hit it in the morning...nice finds...
ReplyDeleteif you find a white ceramic quail, we're both going to start humming The Twilight Zone music. lol.

DeleteIsobel (the GLW) has conversations with the same objective voice and it always seems to say the same thing.
ReplyDeletehahaha....So dear Alan, did she hear that voice when she met you and took you home? :)
DeleteRight it jumped right in
ReplyDeleteI believe that little sin
Maybe if it wasn't a bird
And a cat turd
I might believe it
But not going to fool me one bit..lol
Looks nice though
As a shopping you did go
what, you don't believe
Deletethat things want to come home and live with me?
maybe you're just too smart
and I really drag them kicking and screaming to my cart.
hahahaha.
"No! Not the Zoo! Help!")
That I can believe with ease
DeleteAs they see all the cats in the trees
such a pretty little bird, they were cooking them on Diners Drive inns and Dives last night, so sad, they are such little beauties and hardly enough for a meal.Much better left to live thier little lives, your outing was a success and sounds like fun! Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mothers Day!
ReplyDeletehmmm....I've never had quail to eat. yes, it would take a few to fill anyone up! ick.

ReplyDeleteHi Betsy .. great little quail - she's white and that will suit your home. Then shoes and a shirt - what more could a girl want for Mother's Day .. except a lunch with son's girlfriend .. sounds a lovely day - Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI would love to have lunch with son's girlfriend! :) But she's back home for the summer....I guess her own mom gets her for Mother's Day! ha. I'll spend mine surrounded by my men...which will be nice, too! :)

ReplyDeleteHave a great Mother's Day tomorrow .. and I love your choices and that's great that Julie was with you - special days .... cheers Hilary
Oh, I love that Quail, she would've asked me to take her home as well. My mother collects all sorts of little ceramic things, would be perfect for her. Probably better than the poem I wrote and the $20 in lottery tickets…well, if she wins then perhaps not better, but that remains to be seen..kind of banking on the poem working this year. Love the quail. Thanks
ReplyDeletewell, I'm sure she loved the poem...wow...that kind of gift if priceless! :)
DeleteSuch a sweet little quail and time spent with a girlfriend is always the best.
ReplyDeleteyep...I need some girl talk every once in a while! :)
